The Bar Method will kick your body into shape. Love the workout but the atmosphere of the Oahu location is lacking. Lacking friendliness, attentiveness and positivity. I've been to studios around the country. I took many classes here in Oahu so my opinion is based on my experience over several months. The Oahu studios are lovely, finding parking can be a challenge. Some instructors are great but the turnover is consistent so that speaks to management. It's not the warm, friendly, accepting environment you would expect. A number of staff members weren't very inviting or positive, which should be a requirement, especially in management. The studio would benefit from a good cleaning in between classes in order to avoid clients spreading germs on the bar. I also don't want to lean into someone else's sweat on the mirrors. One instructor admitted she was told to clean the studio prior to the next class but she flat out refused. The studio is small. There is a need for personal space in barre classes & more space would be a benefit for this location. Classes fill up & it can be difficult to work out when people cluster around you, leaving no space to move. There should be a cap on the number of bodies allowed per class.

To be brief, inconsistent policies and practices. For instance, during Homecoming weekend we were told the challenge started on Sunday, but not Saturday. (Sunday had a waitlist. Saturday did not). I even overheard a complaint about different starting times on Sundays. Apparently some Sunday classes start a half hour later than the ones on Saturday. I signed up for the “unlimited” pass, but if I wanted to take three classes in one day, I would be charged 29 dollars. Personally I wouldn’t want to take three classes in one day, but why would someone with an “unlimited” class pass be charged? There are more inconsistencies, but I’m keeping it brief. My fellow students are great and encouraging. The instructors are great. This is one of the older or veteran studios, so new clients could feel left out, but the instructors really go out of their way to be helpful. I shouldn’t feel a sense of anxiety or be worried over inconsistent policies and practices while I’m trying to stay holistically fit. That defeats the purpose. Caution: you cannot park in certain spots. I get that Bar Method people are most likely to be “fit”. However, some people do have injuries and still want to take classes. Being upstairs and having restrictive parking can be a turn off for some potential clients.

The instructors are warm and friendly and keep the classes engaging. The Honolulu location has a shower facilities, lockers and changing area. Great facilities when I come in the middle of the day. Also love that parking is available. Very convenient. The Kailua location also has parking readily available. Instructors are also great. Love the 6 am classes, as the sun rises during class.

This is a gem of a studio tucked into an unexpected, second floor space. The studio is beautiful. Large waiting area. Free lockers and towels. The actual space where class is taught is spacious and clean. The staff is helpful and friendly from the second you walk in the door. The instructor was knowledgeable and helpful. She knew the names of the clients. She gave hands on adjustments. The class was challenging and fun. I have tried many different styles of barre, and I am a barre instructor. I would recommend Bar Method to the novice all the way to the experienced barre enthusiast.

Instant face/name recognition! Lots of personal attention during the workout to correct form! Super clean and well-kept facilities! Instructors are super motivating! Bonus points for puppy licks too! Mostly, this is a well-thought out workout that never stresses my lower back.

This is the best workout, ever, for myself and fellow sisters everywhere. The drills are designed to sculpt your body, so you look and feel like a fit hottie -- just look at the instructors and you'll be a believer! Plus, the studio is lovely -- clean, fresh, bright and charming. Everyone is so positive and supportive. Great energy. Just wish there was one in Granite Bay...

Signing up was so easy! All staff at the front were super nice and helpful. The studio is really clean and cute with lots of amenities like a shower, lockers, toiletries available for freshening up. I've only taken Sonny, Meghan and Susan's class and they are all such amazing instructors! They each bring their own personality that makes class fun!

My introduction to Barre Method was a motivating and fun experience. After two kidos and being sedentary for 25 years, it was refreshing to have the instructor and teams encouragement during my awkward moments :). It was not only a great work out but it was a life changing experience. My posture has never been better! Thank you to the great staff and owner who made me feel so welcome!! I am truly hooked!

ALL of the instructors are fantastic! The classes are well worth the time. I've discovered muscles in my body I never knew existed. Like a yoga class, Bar accepts every body type, every age, & at every flexibility level. No matter how often you attend during the week, if you go consistently, you'll see improvements with your body within weeks. Plus there's mints and other amenities in the dressing area.

I started off for the first time this past August, due to a recommendation by my friend Heidi when visiting her. I attend barre classes in Germany and already loved it but the Bar Method really changed it! The workouts are super fun but also challenging at the same time that I got hooked so I kept coming back throughout my visit in summer. I returned this past december and just recently in the beginning of January when I got back from Germany. I went for the one week unlimited passes while I stayed and loved it! That gives me to take as many classes while I am there. Needless to say, the instructors are amazing! They motivate you, they know exactly what they are doing and the entire staff is amazingly friendly and you feel really welcomed to the Bar Method Ohana I will definitely come back to the studio in town, the next time I am on the island

I have been attending Bar Method classes for 6 weeks now and can honestly say this is an amazing kick your butt workout. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Always greeting you right as you walk in the door. Instructors encourage you to do more and push yourself further. If you're thinking it's not for me or it's too hard or you're ashamed of getting fixed/adjusted too much don't be. This place is not that kind of place. My fitness background before Bar Method was very, very minimum. Maybe a short 15 min walk with my pup but that's about it. After my 6 weeks here I can definitely see a change in my strength, posture, and just over all well being. I highly encourage everyone to try these classes. That includes men too. No shame. I would also highly suggest at least a month commitment because I didn't feel like it clicked till about week 2. I have taken classes at both the Honolulu and Kailua locations and enjoy both. The Honolulu studio has a little more amenities but the Kailua one is just as good. The equipment is newer and is located right above Cinnamons which could be a positive/negative ; P The only downside is that these classes are kind of pricey. I'm trying to convince my husband to let me continue but so far no luck. Hope this was helpful and hope you enjoy these classes just as much as I have.

Love The Bar Method Honolulu! The staff and instructors are all SO friendly and accommodating. They made sure to orient me and set me up with someone next to me I could follow for my first class. They gave gentle adjustments and encouragement throughout the class and sent me home with a cute gift after my first class. The New Client Special is an awesome deal, especially if you're not sure about barre. It's not the kind of work out I'm used to, like HIIT or boot camp, where you are dripping in sweat and feel like dying after. Instead it's small, intentional, controlled movements that work your muscles SO MUCH more than you'd expect. It really takes mental fortitude to not quit when your legs are shaking mid class 😂. You will definitely feel the burn during class and the soreness of building muscles a day or two later! The studio is clean and tidy, equipped with all you'd need: Shoe cubby, lockers, bathroom, water, props, straps and weights. You can purchase grippy Barre socks in many sizes and colors if you want, and the esthetic of the studio is super cute 🥰

I haven't worked my body out in about 5 years. My balance has been off and my strength has lowered. I have been in for three classes, and I must say how warm and welcoming everyone is. I was a bit nervous to be judged, but this studio is the absolute opposite judgemental. I am sore, but I am ready for my next class. Thank you for being patient and kind to everyone. 🤙
