CULT LIKE MEDITATION BE WARNED! Went to this “regular” meditation class. One hour. I’ve been meditating for years and thought I’d check out their studio after yoga. Was shocked to see a krishna board, christian hindu prayers books & jesus chanting. After I avoided the first chant and looked at the teacher like “wtf” - he said “this isn’t some kind of religion pushing class!”. Then went on to chant a song about Jesus love being like a cloud, and talking somewhat disrespectfully about the Jewish people. He talked about Jesus going to India (um ok) and coming back to Israel where he was killed by the romans. He talked about that the Jewish Church didn’t kill Jesus directly while “wanting to” (even though historically the Romans killed loads of people left and right and Jews don’t go to Churches they attend Temples which are prior to Churches). And if you are Christian shouldn’t you at least mention Jesus was Jewish not a Krishna? Long story short, this went on for a while - was as pretty horrendous to witness how into his own stories which were really not cool to anyone not as brainwashed as him to here. Also how anyone would let this studio do this. And how inlove with his guru this dude was for teaching him all this Jesus stuff and breathing. In all my years in spirituality, NEVER felt this uncomfortable in a “regular” meditation class. At least warn people what this is and then teach it to who has time and patience for this. Jeeeezuz.

Great sculpt class that had enough room in the studio to feel comfortable during covid. Nice bright studio w a variety of classes to choose from. Highly recommend! Parking available in the back too which is convenient.

Update: this studio is no longer donation-based. More details to follow later. Original review: Such a great studio, especially for experienced practitioners. Donation-based. PYH is a different kind of place. Instead of just “hiring” yoga teachers, this studio is more of an open space that various yoga teachers rent and instruct their own way. Each yoga teacher is free to promote the class and benefit from their followings, and attending yogis pay what they can afford ($15 minimum recommended). All the collected class donations go straight to the teacher. Coco (technical and precise) and Joji (gymnastic and workshoppy) are my faves. Dorian (the owner) also provides a great and difficult advanced class that will challenge even experienced yogis. In the past I’ve also attended restorative yin classes with a few different teachers that have been great.

My favorite yoga studio on Oahu, they have a great variety of classes and instructions. Styles and practices for any taste. Great place!

It was a cool session and I liked the air-conditioned atmosphere - very friendly environment.

I really enjoyed the classes I attended but had an issue with unauthorized payments. Eventually the issue was rectified but it left a bad taste in my mouth.

Really enjoying the atmosphere, the teachers, and the patrons! So happy I found this place. The variety of offerings is really neat as well. I was able to take tai chi and aerial yoga for the first time.

Had an excellent yoga class. Great instruction, tunes and vibe. Class was by donation, I gave more then suggested I was so happy.

Best yoga in Hawaii hands down

I am so impressed and pleased with the quality of classes and instructors at Power Yoga Hawaii. Every class I have experienced has been led with clear instructions to allow for a variety of levels while subtly including the core elements of yogic teachings. In addition, the customer service has been top notch. It is refreshing to find a studio that represents all of the elements of yoga beautifully woven together for practices at all levels AND has clear communication from staff and owners. Ali is great. Loved all the hip opening poses as well as lower back strengthening positions.
