absolutely beautiful lookout! however, the best view comes if you walk through the lava tube. if you walk a bit downhill from the parking lot and down into the little ditch, you’ll find the lava tube entrance. after walking through, you’ll come out into a super beautiful cove!

This is a great place to stop and get some gorgeous views! The waves are really strong here so make sure that you stay away from the edge, but between the cool rocks and the mountains you have plenty to see. I only knocked off a star because it is an area where you can't leave valuables in your car. We actually saw glass in the parking lot when we got there. Parking can be a bit difficult too, but the views are worth it!

Gorgeous view. You can go down where the rocks are for a better view and pictures. Note there was broken car window glass in the little parking lot which is scary. We were told about people breaking into the cars while tourists are taking pictures, so, don't leave valuables in the car. We had no issue, it was 9 am and quite busy.

Searching unique place along the coast. My wife and I discovered it by accident when traveling along the coast of Oahu. Had to stop for at least an hour just to truly experience it. Even had my drone take some awesome videos! If you have some time in between your excursions/outings, definitely consider stopping by this place.

One of the best and most underrated spots on Oahu to catch the sunrise. Found it entirely on accident on the way to do a sunrise hike a few years ago and we never made it to the hike because we were enamored by the breathtaking view. Highly recommend hitting this spot then driving over to Sandy Beach 5 min away after the sun rises to take a relaxing morning walk and watch the early surfers & boogie boarders.

This place is so easy to miss but I’m glad we didn’t. You are not supposed to climb down but it’s too tempting not too! I have never in my life seen anything like this. The rock formations are so beautiful and you can’t forget that aqua colored water.

Such a beautiful lookout. We ventured out beyond the railing. It could definitely be dangerous with or without proper shoes because of sand on top of the rocky hill. If you're willing to take the risk, the pictures are magical.

The Lanai Lookout is great for taking a break from driving, enjoying the spectacular views, taking memorable photos and the parking is free. There is a lot of busted car windshield glass in various locations in this parking area. Be careful!

Lanai Lookout is a hidden gem of a scenic spot that won’t cost you a dime. Located along the main highway, it offers a small but convenient parking area. Our decision to make an impromptu stop here turned out to be a fantastic choice. The views you’ll encounter are absolutely stunning. As you stand there, you can witness the powerful waves crashing against the rugged rocks, creating a mesmerizing spectacle of nature’s forces at work. What’s particularly great about Lanai Lookout is that it caters to those who may not be up for extensive hiking but still crave those breathtaking panoramic views. Despite its size, the Lanai Lookout is a hidden treasure for anyone exploring the area. It’s a must-visit destination for those seeking the beauty of the sea and rock formations, making it a memorable stop on your journey through this scenic paradise.

Pretty nice lookout off the far side of Cocohead. The hidden lavatube is so cool! But I am not telling you where, too many people will ruin it.

Get the feel of the open Pacific Ocean in this scenic drive. There are several points where you can stop for pictures, with a few tucked-in, small beaches too. But beware the strong rip currents. Also, the lava cliffs are tempting and you'll see people beyond the danger signs. You'll have to decide if the risk is worth taking, but I wouldn't advise it. There are very strong, sudden winds that can make anyone lose their balance. Safety precautions cannot be emphasized enough.

Took a trip around the Island. This stop was very pretty and attracted a lot of tourist. It is a bit restricted to go closer to the water.

Pretty nice lookout point. Local tip: if you go across the street, under the overpass, there is a lava tube that leads to the cliff edge with better views

Small parking lot and could see it getting very busy, but it wasn't when we went at 5PM. The views are gorgeous.

Fantastic lookout with some of the BEST views of O'ahu! Everyone, and I mean everyone, hops over the small rock wall and jumps onto the lava rocks to take breathtaking photos. Be careful! I'd you get close to waves, you can get knocked into a very rough area of the ocean, next to cliffs and sharp rocks.

Among the most dramatic views in Hawaii. I was there on a clear, calm day. It would be interesting to see when a storm was coming in from that direction.

Great views, and option to get down to the secret beach and come closer to the blowhole.

Such a breathtaking view! Watching the deep blue water turn turquoise as it comes crashing against the rocks is spectacular!

Absolutely breathtaking. Don't miss the secret lava tube: park, then cross street, walk down hill to the railing on the left, hop over and walk down to the bottom. Amazing!

Great little beach for swimmers, surfers, and any sun lover. It's equally great for birders searching the close seabird breeding colonies.

Really wonderful experience, expect 10-15 mins stay. One of the best scenery & scenic beauty, rocky, it’s not beach. Not safe to go near ocean, great for taking photos. Nice warm breeze , no tree shades around, get sun shades, glasses, hat 🧢

Nice lookout close to the ocean along the highway. Easy pullout and good free parking. Only requires a few minute visit. Fun the photograph the setting at this lookout.

WOW! This place was breathtaking! A must visit along the highway. If you can, walk down to get a better idea of how large the waves actually are. Easy to get a free parking spot. Not to busy today though.

We stopped here as we were driving and saw there was a lookout spot. We were not disappointed as the view is so beautiful. We actually came here a few times and just down the road to watch the sunrise.

The beautiful views of the cliffs and the ocean and the breaking waves is worth a short stop. My 8 year old and I loved it.

You really can see Lanai & Molokai! Spectacular cliffs, Japanese Fishing Shrine, great view of Halona Blowhole, & at the base of Koko Head crater.

Lookout with cool views of unique rock formations and erosion patterns

  • 5/5 PJ S. 2 years ago on Google
Start definitely one of the more beautiful places to check out. The panoramic view is out of this world and literally can spend hours here just looking out into the ocean and listening to the waves crash against the rocks here. The opportunity for pictures here is unsurpassed as you have the tides that Very throughout the day, the wave that crashes against the rocks, and the sun that rises on one side and sets on the other behind the mountains… and the Mountain backdrop is a spectacular view. It does get busy though. Just be careful if you’re going to go to the lower portions of the lookout… it’s very slippery and I can definitely see some trips getting cut short due to unforeseen accidents. Mahalo!
