Beautiful to watch the sunrise! I would park outside the park because it costs $10 to park inside the park. The walk from parking outside of the park seemed to me to be a very easy walk up. Costs 5 dollars to get in regardless but was fairly easy and absolutely breathtaking!

Beautiful area to walk around with panoramic views of the ocean and diamond head. Parking is fairly limited in the lot but there is a good amount of street parking, you can also watch local surfers catch the waves down below. Just be aware that there is a large homeless population living on the other side of the street but they won’t bother you if you don’t bother them

This is such an amazing hike for pretty much all ages. I saw an apprx 6 year old at the top. I highly recommend this to anyone for the views. The whole route is paved so no need to worry about getting muddy. Residents are free and people visiting, be prepared to bring cash as that is all that is accepted. $10 per car and $5 walk in fees. There is also a gift shop with souvenirs and food so bring more $ for that! There is a restroom at the start of the trail but that is the 1 and only. You need to make a reservation online before showing up at the park to hike to the top of diamond head crater. But it is only $5.00 and easy to do on their website. It is about 3.5 miles round trip from the nearest bus stop. It’s uphill all the way to the top with several resting stops along the way with something to sit on. It is very hot in the afternoon but there is some shade and breezes to cool you off a bit. There are some machines near the start to buy water, gatorade and soda. The water was $2. The machines take cash or credit card. The view of Waikiki from the top is stunning.

It's a 45-minute to an hour hike if you want to enjoy the views from the top of diamond head lookout. The elevation is quite steep, and I would rate this a moderate hike. There is a state park entry fee that you would have to pay to enter. The view from the top of the city is unmatched. You might see this photo when you search honolulu on Google search.

Lookout! A nice place to stop and take a photo of the ocean and the waves as they crash to shore. Plenty of room for several cars to pull over and then easily get back out on the road. Remember, the journey is just as important as the destination! Especially when you are in Hawaii!!! I think my favorite thing was the breeze gently blowing while we took in the beauty around us.

Did a sunrise hike...absolutely worth it, beautiful. Either book a ticket ahead of time through the park, just be sure you have a plan to get there early enough. Or book transportation and ticket through a tour service. Park does not open until 6am, no matter when the sunrise is.

Great Vista views of the ocean. Free to park and take a bunch of snaps. Nice photo stop. Can walk up and down the road to get different parts of the coast. If you're into surfing you can watch surfers or follow one of the paths down to the shore to join. Just ask one of the many locals that are probably also there to catch the waves for more detailed directions.

Nice location overseeing ocean. But has very limited parking. There is a small trail that goes down to the beach but it is a bit steep. Good for quick stopover on the way to diamond head.

Diamond Head is a must-visit spot in Hawaii with its breathtaking panoramic view, deserving a 4/5 rating. The stunning vistas offer a full view of Hawaii’s beauty. A trip here is definitely worth experiencing.

Make sure you get a parkimg ticket in advance! It costs roughly $25 a car which was 100% worth it. This is probably the best view of the island you will get unless your in the air. It's a hike but it's paved or cut into the rock face the entire way. Some areas are a bit narrow but still room for 2 people side by side. There are plenty of spots to stop and take in the view while resting if you need it. There are water stations, vending machines and bathrooms at the start.

Great hike with amazing views. The stairs are brutal, but rewarding and an achievement!

Worth all the walk I didn’t read about need to make reservation before u can start to walk also I was thinking u can just purchase tickets in the entrance but no so just be aware of that I recommend like everyone else to go there early morning to see the sunrise or afternoon to watch sunset but definitely try to avoid the heat and if you brings kids make sure they can walk or you will get very tired if you try to carry them just advise!! Other than that enjoy is a beautiful view

Priceless views. Great spot to eat some takeout. Be respectful of the locals who put a lot of effort into keeping this spot clean.

This is a stop you gotta make. Sunrise? Sunset? In-Between?? Do it! Took a scooter for the day and somehow in my 35 miles I ended up here before bringing it in to Lucky at Waikiki Mopeds. Views are breathmaking…

Difficult hike, but worth the view. Lots of other tourists, but didn't ruin the experience. Maps says. 8 mile walk, but it feels like much much longer because the incline is steep. Beautiful views worth the hike.

Hike isn’t too difficult so don’t be discouraged to try, the steps are the worst part but it’s worth it for the view!

  • 5/5 Manny R. 2 years ago on Google
Beautiful views. At first you will feel the heat but if you continue it will be worth it. Stunning views and the air feels so fresh. Definitely recommend taking a few bottles of water to stay hydrated.

Really nice. Popular spot for tourist and islanders for epic sunset photos and highly populated surf spot for locals. There's plenty of parking in the lot areas as well as along the "Makai" side of the street and overflow parking is allowed along certain parts of the "Mauka" side. Pretty cool place all around though. A definite must for visitors.
