Fort DeRussy Beach is a beautiful beach along the Fort DeRussy Park. The location has restaurants, restrooms and showers nearby. There are picnic tables, BBQ's, and park benches. There are concrete walking paths and lots of green grass areas to play. The beach is large, sweeping sand to the sea, waves are usually small so good for children and there are lots of options for toys to rent or purchase and use in the water. If you find my review helpful please give me a thumbs-up πŸ‘ Thank you!

Beautiful beach, I go here to run and enjoy during my stay :)

If you feel like it's a bit crowded at Waikiki beach, just walk down the street and find your way to Fort DeRussy beach! It's much more spacious and you can find different water activities to do from the hotel activity stands. There are also some restaurants there and a popular food truck in the area! There are rocks in the beach, so I'd recommend wearing waterproof shoes. We did some snorkeling for fun and saw some little fish and a tuna. If you swim further, you'd even be able to see a sea turtle.

I was so excited seeing the turtle right in front of me while snorkeling. Also saw lots of fish. The corals are colorful too. Yes, please keep a distance from the turtle and do not touch them.

Compared to the other beaches I went to, I wasn't a huge fan. Good for sightseeing and sunbathing but the waves are really calm and there are A LOT of rocks in the water. Bring water shoes if you're planning on swimming.

Love this beach area, more room than any beachfront in the heart of Waikiki. Relaxing fun spot with plenty of dining and drinking options close by. Also a great place to have an unobstructed view of Oahu, HI Sunsets

This beach is smaller than Waikiki's, but if you are staying North of Waikiki or in Honolulu, it offers a great place to spend the day sunbathing and swimming. The nearby gardens offer refreshing shade when needed.

Great beach to lay out and sun or to get in the water and snorkel. There is about 5 feet from the water until you get into some sharp rocks. Recommend some rubber water shoes to venture out. Also goggles, snorkel, and an underwater camera. Found a lot of fish and even a sea turtle swimming around. It does get crowded but there is enough room to find a spot.

Decent beach here. Plenty of room... However, that may be because people don't want to step on rocks while wading in the ocean. The rocks here aren't sharp per se. However, they aren't the most comfortable to walk on either. Going further out into the ocean doesn't help either. The rocks just keep going. If you stick to the coastline and the softer sand, you're fine.

Clean, not super busy beach. Great for kids. You can hear some disturbing music from nearby hotels.

Clean, quite , scenic beautiful place to spend time with family or by myself. I avoid going around the benches! Too many weed snorkelers. Wash stations are well maintained and enough for the crowd. I enjoy before sunrise and around sunset in this beach. Plenty of turtles 🐒 to play around or enjoy from the sandy beach.

This is a nice beach with great views of Waikiki & Diamond head. The water is warm, if a a little cloudy. There are a lot of rocks however so I would recommend using 'surf shoes' rather than walking barefoot into the sea. My daughter cut her tow on a rock. That said, you can't beat the warm Pacific Ocean!

I went to this beach a couple times when I didn’t have a rental car so couldn’t go too far from the condo. A lot better than Waikiki beach, less crowded except Fridays for the fireworks (+ DJ)! I felt a lot more comfortable leaving my belongings when going in the water. The only downside is that there’s a lot of small rocks mixed with the sand in the water and there are medium sized rocks that you can step on here and there. The water is nice, not always clear but compared to the other beaches around that area it’s worth it!

Approx 7mins walk around the corner of my hotel during this visit 05.17.23. Less crowded vs the "main" waikiki beach...except on Friday evenings when people came to watch the sunset and fireworks.

From an angle of view, this is the best place to view the fireworks at Hilton Hawaiian Village. Opens from 7:45am in winter and 8am in summer. If you take the plunge and sit down on the sandy beach near the sea for 5 minutes and set up your camera, fireworks will suddenly start to go off. Along Waikiki Beach, I like Fort DeRussey Beach the best. For some reason it's less crowded and has a quite atmosphere. And beach services are close at hand.

We love this beach in the morning before it gets too busy. Calm water and some snorkelling although nothing exciting. The boardwalk is nice but doesn’t really go anywhere.

We watched the sunset at Fort DeRussy and it was the mood of the day. Beautiful spread to watch it without having many obstructions. Very calm and quiet during golden hour. The beach park was grassy and mostly clean.

My first awareness of this gem of a military facility was as a Naval Midshipman on our 1964 Summer Cruise. It’s amazing that our government would have kept the most expensive properties rather than selling them off to pay off the national debt. I am thrilled that military families can still pay a very reasonable rate for rents on oceanfront properties under the aegis of the United States Government.

Here at this beach right now and it's so amazing. Paradise is one way to describe it. I just swam with sea turtles, and while snorkeling I saw the state fish and many more colorful fish!! There plenty of rental chairs and umbrellas and quite a few places to get drinks and food or snacks. This will always be one of my favorite beaches on earth
