Best free beach in Waikiki for snorkeling! I saw at least 6-7 different varieties of fish including the state fish of Hawaii - the reef triggerfish. You have to be careful as the water is very shallow at certain points, and you could end up too close to the reef floor. Better to wear water shoes to avoid getting scrapped. The best fish are along the Queen’s walkway on the north side. I found it easier to enter the water from the south side of the walkway though. You can see a lot of the fish even if you just walk along the walkway. The beach also has access to a nice cafe, some shade, and a park with restrooms nearby.

By far the best beach I’ve ever been to. Beautiful walk to the beach followed by an amazing view. The views here during the sunset are unreal, not only that but the nightlife is pretty amazing too. I spent the whole day and night here on most of my vacation and would do it again. They have surfing instructors all along the beach if you’re interested or you can just lounge in the perfect weather and take in some rays. Great food right on the beach or simply cross the street for many more options. People here are very friendly much different from New York where I am from this here is a must see!!

For me this is the signature place that represents the best of Honolulu and the most beautiful part of Waikiki Beach. I never tire of strolling this park-like street-side vista in the heart of Waikiki.

The Kapi’olani Park Beach was being enjoyed by many sun bathers, surfers, families and the homeless during my visit. There are picnic tables, public restrooms, showers and water fountains available to the public.

Great park and beach just at the edge of Waikiki. Perfect if you want to avoid the dense crowds near the Waikiki beach front hotels. Lots of space for big groups to gather, families, and for sports and BBQ etc

Swam next to a seal which was very cool 😎 But the park has some homeless people who eat out of the garage and pee right in front of you.

So peaceful, I love the birds. I will lie down on the grass and the doves or tiny birds will come and be all around me.

Pleasantly surprised by this beach! Saw some fish near the walkway on the left! Good for beginner snorkeling! Shallow and calm waves!

An accessible park and beach, somewhat hampered by a lack of free parking. The adjacent Queen's beach offers ample space to sunbathe, while in the other direction one can swim up and down Sans Souci beach, albeit with only a single lifeguard tower. The grassy areas are well maintained and offer a wonderful photo backdrop at dusk with the sun casting long shadows from the sea.

Beautiful sunsets. Sand is soft. There is shade to lay out in if you want a respite from the sun. There can be a lot of children. Bathrooms nearby. Close to ABC and hotels. There are kind of a lot of rocks in the water, but the water is clean, warm, and calm. No drinks on the beach, and they do come around and check.

Nice quiet beach just a 10 minute walk away from busy Waikiki beach

Great spot for snorkeling, we saw a sea turtle, puffer fish, sea urchins, coral, and all kinds of tropical fish only 20 yards from the shore. The water is shallow and waves are Naomi at non existent on account of the wall and the reef. Highly recommend for first time snorkelers.

Enjoy the surf and sand and some quiet views of the Ocean. Even a statue dedicated to "Duke Kamanamoku" for surfing.

Nice to walk along water or go for a swim behind the aquarium

This beach was nice, but the parking is tough. There’s lots of shade if you don’t want to go in the sand. Watch out for the water by the ward because there are large rocks closer to shore than you think.

Lovely beach to chill and watch surfers, walk the short pier, or do some snorkeling and watch the fish and crabs.
