Nice little park with tiny beach and no parking or toilet. Wonderful spot. Try the little coastal walkway to the next park !

Hidden gem within a walkable distance from the center. It’s a Great gateway from the crowds in Wakiki beach. Small & quiet beach, very pleasant and perfect to swim & snorkel (even for kids). The park near by offers shadow, showers, picnic tables…

This park is on the backside of Diamond Head you have to walk in. There's a cool concrete walkway that goes from one part to another in front of multimillion-dollar houses along the ocean. The people who live in the beach house right next to the entrance are mean and have planted a bush that has a red balls and the branches have giant spikes that are an inch or two long and the branches drop onto the beach and get under the stand I stepped on those twice while I was there. Also the beach is very short When the tide is up and there is no dry area to lay so be prepared to get wet. The water is nice and there's a Sandy entryway to get in there quite a few reefs there I imagine there are fish to be seen. I like this piece because it's a nice walk to get there. There are also lots of palm trees where you can hang a hammock.

No other beach like it , rugged coast up against raw chunky Diamond head it’s almost primal.. beautiful coco palms and several sea staircases give this beach unmatchable charm No restrooms , dog friendly no playground lots of picnic area

I long to be back on this beach. The water was perfect, the waves existed but were not nearly as rough as those seen on the large Hawaiin island. This beach is often crowed but it is large enough to get away from the crowds if you prefer. There wre many premade seating and eating areas around this beach offering views of both the majestic ocean and the striking Diamond Head Peak.

Quiet, beautiful little beach. Definitely wear water shoes with the rocks. Nice little park. Great place to walk to or bike for a picnic. Definitely be back for sunset views. Love the waves crashing up against the wall. Very peaceful place

A nice and quiet beach park that is located in the middle of the residential area. Seaside of the park is a pathway going down right will have a small beachside in front of the residential houses. There is a washing station up in the green area so you may wash off the sands. It is relatively quiet so it seems to be a nice place for a picnic under the trees looking at the beach or you may go into the sand and enjoy the water.

Water is more rough than Waikiki but nothing crazy, be careful of rocks under the water as some parts are shallow and unpredictable deeper parts, nothing crazy though. Sunset is amazing here. Especially with the added effect of the waves crashing against the wall. Parking to get here though can be tricky, I got lucky last time I visited!

Mākālei Beach Park, Diamond Head, Oahu Hawaii Near Diamond Head Lighthouse is a nice small and private beach about a 30min walk from Outrigger Waikiki if you follow the coastline towards Diamond Head Lighthouse. Good snorkelling spot or just a swim. The park next to the beach offers welcome shade when you want to get out of the sun. #MākāleiBeachPark

Hidden little pocket park and beach that is great to get away from the crowds. The surf is a little rough so don't bring the kids if you're looking to swim. Best for a solo sun tan or a romantic swim...

This is the beach park that somehow remains uncrowded, even though it's just steps outside of Waikiki. It's got a good small park and a narrow strip of beach that is exposed during low tide.

The entrance to the Makalei Beach Park is very inviting. The park is bigger than how it first appears from the street. There are some interesting older homes in the immediate area surrounding the park.

Good place to get away from the crowds whilestaying near Waikiki. Beautiful park with plenty of shade and open space, connected beach is nice and secluded, but admittedly short distance to waterline.

Love this beach. At times the ocean overtakes it, but then it's back. Beautiful nature

  • 5/5 Aaron B. 1 year ago on Google
Nice quiet park with lots of shade, tiny lil strip of sand but it’s nice and quiet so if you’re looking to just enjoy a swim or lay in the sun it’s a great spot

my family likes to go here once in a while, it's so peaceful. The park part has nice grass area and trees, and a shower which is great after going in the ocean. Tip: look at the tide schedule and try to get there around low tide so that you have a bigger sandy area to be at.

I absolutely this little bit of beach access near/in Waikiki. The water is clearer, its less rockckyvin the water and its small enough to not allow for too many people to be around. Though I will my inner circle calls it moped city at times as a lot of college kids visit the location at times as well. Which for me isn't my absolute favorite because it means mixture of load music etc. But all in all 9/10 location.

  • 3/5 Stefano V. 11 months ago on Google
Not really one of the best beaches in the area. But slightly better than sitting on the beach in Waikiki. I think the only positive here is that you can ride your bike or moped right up to the edge of the beach.

Love this beach.... BUT BE WARNED: The people who live right next to the beach have a small Jack Russell they often let run loose in the park. It behaves badly and it seems they do not care. I was walking down towards the beach when the dog ran up to be barking quite aggressively, then started jumping up on my trying to bite. I shoved the dog away from me and told it to go away but it followed me. The owners watched this happen and did nothing to control their dog. I've also seen in run up on dogs that are on leash and bark aggressively at them on several occasions while the owners do nothing. Its really quite a shame.

Secluded beach, awesome mini park featuring showers and picnic tables. Coastal Path links park with Leahi Beach Park. Careful when you swim as there is plenty of rocks and coral in the water.

There's just enough breaks in the rocks to wade in and take a quick dip. We had to go around a monk seal sunning on the beach. Note: No parking.

(Translated by Google) This park is a tourist can only see if he goes on foot to the Diamond Head volcano. The park is very small, even tiny. In the center of it grows a huge tree umbrella shape, and it seems that it is its crown covers the whole park. But it's nice! How charming! There is a small beach, which is always lonely because they use only the locals who actually almost always busy with their chores. And in this park are growing incredibly beautiful white and pink hibiscus, and personally, I just love them. Nowhere is there such a variety of hibiscus as in Hawaii. In general, do not pass by the park, gentlemen! Enjoy being in this tiny piece of paradise.

This place just has an amazing vibe. If you are like me and like waking up before sunrise to run, I highly suggest starting from this park and running toward Diamond Head Rd. Here, sneak into other little parks along the way and get a nice run early with waves breaking on the sea wall. Hands down a wonderful experience. People are doing Tai Chi and yoga early in the morning with the sound of the constant and entrancing surf in the background. If you're feeling your oats, run up to the lookout past the light house on Diamond Head Road.
