Kinda traumatic. Went camping there and the tent caught on fire, flooded from rain storm, collapsed from the wind - then flew away, not to mention 1/3 of the beach sand coming inside, and the temperature going from freezing to hot when ever it pleased. I wanted to catch an Uber about 5 hours into the night but decided not to because 1) It was my first time there and I didn’t know the way back up 2) my friends would have never let me hear the end of it. At the absolute worst point/our breaking point, all 7 of us, who were crammed into the tent, were just laughing of how terrible everything turned out. After sleeping for around 3 hrs. we woke up to the sun rise and saw a beautiful rainbow over our tent. Unfortunately, we didn’t think to ask anyone to pick us up before leaving. So, we’re calling everyone on our contact list with 12% battery left. Eventually, we made it out alive and can now tell another tail of Alan Davis

Beautiful tide pools and a nice beach. I went during low tide and have the benefit of shallow, warm water. It is a trail that is paved with gravel and rocks, but is a nice secluded beach to spend a couple hours at.

Just before the Makapu'u Lighthouse Trail you will see the the dirt track (Ka’Iwi Scenic Shoreline Trail) through the bushes. If you walk about 15 minutes it wıll take you to Alan Davis Beach with crystal clear water. This is not known by the tourists but locals flock here at the weekends. You can also reach to Makapu'u Tide Pools, if you continue walking through the rocks on your left for about 30 minutes.

Be careful. There is rusty iron pike below tree. My son went to hospital and spent $735

I don't know if the tide was low but we were glad we had water shoes so we could walk out to where you could at least float. Nice little beach to hang out for a minute though. I wouldn't plan a day just around this beach, but if you are doing the lighthouse hike or something near by definitely give it a go.

Nice hidden away beach visited mostly by locals. Used to be a secret gem, but now a pretty well known spot.

Nice tide pools to take the kids too. It’s a short walk from the entrance of Makapu’u down to the water. No shade and the rocks suck but once you get there it’s beautiful. Cool ledge to jump from for the older kids and adults and a short climb up to Peles Chair. Overall it’s a cool little spot to explore with the family.

Nice secluded beach, very small swim area for the 10 min walk. Very clear in the swimming area. Short cliff jump area. I see some fishing here. Theres a big cliff rock that you can climb up, makes a great pic if you can get up

Beautiful mostly quiet Beach. Rocky outskirts. Great cliffs to climb and capture photos of the waves crashing against the rocks.

A bit of a rocky hike to get there but once there, there are some small gentle tide pools. A larger swimming zone protected from the waves. And the views, wow. The east side of the island so it’s windy and the surf is huge

Awesome little tucked away oasis. Little Rock’s to jump off into beautiful calm water. Such a pretty beach.

Great little beach to go to after going on the Makapu'u point lighthouse trail. It's a long and rocky walk but worth it.

Very small and so so calm! It's a nice walk in :) snorkeling isn't bad either. Might catch a manta ray..

Short hike to this quiet beach and you’ve earned yourself a cool private view of the ocean and Pele’s chair to the left.

👍 A nice beach along the base on Diamond Head. There aren’t many trees for shade so the best times to visit are mornings and afternoons. Look for parking along the streets in this residential area. There are no lifeguards, showers or restrooms here but don’t let that stop you from enjoying this little...
