My husband and I have been using Koa Beach Service for many years, and have always looked forward to the excellent service they always provided. The service could not be better, the smiles and friendliness of staff could not be better, and the pricing they offered in their support of military families could not be matched. Sadly, Koa Beach Services has been replaced by another company. The prices are considerably more, which tells me they do not share the same support of the military community as Koa Beach Services did. I was very sad and disappointed to find this news today. Huge mistake in losing this wonderful beach service.

We rented inflatable paddle boards for a day and had a great time. Staff member Andy was super helpful and friendly. The prices are much lower than at the beach and it's only a 5 minute walk. Highly recommended. Really good experience.

Excellent family experience! My son 8yo) and I (44yo) had a first lesson. Easy to setup and communicate. Got in plenty of surfing with 1:1 lessons (and a great workout). Absolute must if you are near Waikiki! I will never forget and it was easily our favorite part of our trip to Oahu.

Great service staff is fantastic

Honestly the most affordable rental prices I found while staying in Waikiki, it’s a really great option if you’re looking to rent longer term! Andi was working at the shop and was very helpful and super funny! He answered all our questions and he even told us we could come back throughout our week long rental to switch the boards to try different types if we wanted. When returning our boards he actually remembered us and took time out of his day to chat with us about our week surfing! Will for sure be returning on my next trip :)

Love this place. If you are military let them know. May save you a little. They have everything you need for beach fun with great prices. When you go to this location just walk through the Eaton Square gates and hang a right.

Surf in the City is AWESOME! The guys were very helpful. I was able to even text before and or after store hours. They delivered my 10 ft board to the hotel! I actually broke a fin off my board and within an hour the guys met me at the beach and replaced the fin for me. Zero hassle. I caught Awesome rides all week long! I had a lot of fun and it was a great board for the waves there. No kidding I caught some great rides. Great customer service 👏 5 stars from me. Thanks guys!!!

My friends and I rented paddle boards and we had an overall amazing experience. As a beginner trying the activity for the first time, the staff here were exceptional — they were knowledgeable, patient and friendly. We found that the equipment was very well maintained. I would definitely recommend here!

Thieves I gave my credit card to hold for renting a surfboard from Koa Beach Service as they required. I have never used the card for anything else and I am now at home and received my credit card statement and there are some strange charges. I called Koa Beach Service, that I left my card with as required by them. I asked the girl answering why I am seeing some strange charges on my credit card and she said I needed to talk to Ron. So I waited a while and boss guy finally answered and I tried to explain about the strange charges, but he just tried to out talk me and said his staff are honest. I tried to explain again, but he again out talked me by saying they are honest. I just gave up on trying to explain and hung up. Disputed the charges and asked for a replacement with new credit card numbers.

Our family is so happy to have found Surf in the City! Laying on the beach is a daily to-do when we visit and to rent 4 loungers and 2 umbrellas from the hotel is a budget breaker. We rented through Surf in the City for a WEEK what it nearly costs for one day from the hotel chains. It was only a few minutes walk from the Hilton and the chairs and umbrellas were high quality and comfortable. Indi helped us with the set up and was so friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!!

If you are military the prices cant be beat. Friendly service as well.

Great experience! Although the sea was quite rough, the instructors made me stand and ride the waves. I booked a group lesson with James and Nika, they did a fantastic job. We were only 3 students, so we got a lot of rides for our money. The team was very friendly and explained everything in detail. I got great photos for additional 30$. The prices are really fair in comparison to other schools at Waikiki.

My wife and I took surfing lessons with James and photographer Josh and it was amazing. Excellent instructor, great attention to detail and just overall great service. The staff was top notch and we had a phenomenal experience. I’m hooked.

Koa beach service is great! They have a great selection of beach equipment and are super nice! I even lost my wedding ring in the ocean and they helped me find it! Highly recommended!

Great place for snorkeling! They had so many options. The snorkeling gear was beginner friendly & we had a great time using it at the beach. Tan helped us and she was super nice. Definitely 10/10 customer service.

Surf in the City is an amazing local place to rent beach equipment and I can’t recommend them enough to anyone staying in Waikiki. They’re located a few blocks from the beach and are super well stocked with all different types of beach needs including surf/paddle boards and kayaks!) A young brown haired woman was working when we dropped by and had already prepped our reserved items and had them waiting by the door. We were running a bit late and she was so flexible in allowing us to upgrade our reservation from 1/2 day to a full day so that we could get the most out of the chairs and umbrella. The prices were great, all of the equipment was in almost brand new condition and they didn’t spare any expense (included a wagon that works on sand, and a drill attachment for the umbrella).

Ron was awesome! He showed me how to stand up on the board and best ways to paddle before even going out. We paddled out and he helped me catch a ton of really great rides! He was very helpful and really went out of his way to make sure I had fun. I highly recommend getting a private lesson, so worth it. I had no real knowledge of how to surf at all and Ron helped me catch waves and have fun. Very very highly recommend. I'll be telling all my friends to do this with Ron when they come to Waikiki!

We had a small group lesson with 3 people for 1.5 hours. It was phenomenal. We had two instructors that were very knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. I highly recommend using this service if you’re interested in learning to surf. All three of us were catching waves. This was the first time surfing for all of us. Ages ranged from 30 to 48.

We took surf lessons with Ron, and he is incredible, certified, and an absolute pro. He knows the best spots for the best waves at the beach and has so much knowledge about the water, island, and surfing. I really wanted to support a 100% Hawaiian owned business, and going with Surf in the City is the best decision I could've made. We got videos and pictures afterward and also saw a few turtles in the water during our lesson. An absolute blast! Thanks so much Ron!!

I just recently visited Oahu and was super blessed to have found the best place for beach rentals. I rented three beach chairs, a boogie board, an umbrella & flippers. The quality of customer service I was provided, blew out the water any companies I’ve done business back home in California. Definitely the best location in Waikiki for beach rentals. 10/10.

We rented 6 surfboards for the week and we had an amazing time! Ron helped us pick out boards that suite our levels and helped load all of them into the car(it wasn’t an easy task). The boards here are super high quality and almost brand new. Highly recommend.

We rented a 2 person kayak and had a blast. The price was very reasonable. We decided to walk to the beach, they gave us wheels for it. It is about a 15 min walk to the one by the marina, lots of maneuvering. Would definitely recommend this place

This place was awesome! Had great prices and were very helpful. They set us up for a great day out on the water. They let us use a dry bag for our things and the carts used to walk the boards were easy to navigate. We absolutely recommend!!

Their equipment was very nice and the girl waxed our boogie boards really well before letting us use them. We used the boards, beach chairs, wagon, and umbrella a lot during the week and it was so easy and close to where we were staying. The people who worked there were so friendly. I highly recommend them for all your renting needs!
