Maleko Coffee is a very small corner shop in a hotel. The server was very nice and recommended some pastries. I opted for one of the coconut ball pastries and a vanilla frappe. I usually don't take cold drinks but today was very hot and humid. The vanilla frappe was perfect, not overly sweet like alot of places. The coconut pastry was also perfect and not overly sweet. The only downside is they don't let you sit in the shop, but pointed out a place I can sit in the hotel that had a electrical outlet. Very nice of her, she didn't have to do that. If you are near by, it's worth to stop in and get anything. 4 out of 5 stars because I couldn't sit in the coffee shop. I probably would have purchased more pastries if I was allowed to.

Moist and flaky cream cheese danishes, delicious coffee, fair prices. I got breakfast here three days in a row, great service and yummy food everytime. Worth the stop.

Great place for delicious savory and sweet treats and good coffee! The owner was there, and he helped me pick the flavor of their malasada-this is guava. Great fruity flavor, with the donut having a milder sweet taste to let the filling shine. They were quick and friendly. I recommend stopping by!

The only reason why I'm giving two starts is because the first time I went there, a very lovely woman helped me with my order. Today, a very rude man got my order, and when I asked what was in a sandwich, he not only didn't answer my question but also asked where my accent was from. After I said that I'm originally from Brazil, he said a word in Spanish (we were talking in English the whole time). I told him that I don't speak Spanish (in Brazil we speak Portuguese) and he said "but aren't you all the same"? - which was a very racist and ignorant comment to make. After I repeated that I didn't speak Spanish and that he could speak English with me, he said that he could not help me and left me without explaining what was on the sandwich. I was originally planning on going there everyday while in Honolulu, but today was definitely my last day.

Maleko’s also offers Pizza after 3.30pm. I was walking by and I heard they had good pizza. I stopped and talked to JB. He makes a great pizza!

So so experience. Malasadas tasted similar to glazed donuts filled with either custard, mango, or guava(ordered all three flavors). The kale, cheese crossiant was flat and very light. The drip coffee was decent.

Mocha was meh, cold brew coffee was warm with a few ice cubes, and the breakfast sandwiches had the THINNEST layers of egg and meat. It was mostly velveeta-type cheese in a bland bun. Flies everywhere, nowhere to stand before or after ordering, no chairs or tables anywhere nearby... honestly have no idea why they have good reviews. We went to several other coffee shops in the area on other days and had FAR better coffee and breakfast. The staff was friendly at least?

the cutest most perfect local coffee shop right across the road from our hotel that was my saving grace on multiple mornings when most other cafes are closed. small inside but packed with local baked goods and the cold brew is absolute fire 🤌🏼💥🙌🏼 employees are friendly. 10/10 would recommend.

Best malasadas, pastries and coffee...the baker even made some special malasadas for my daughter! She loved them. We ate breakfast here every morning during our stay in Waikiki...can't wait to go back

I walked 1/2 mile to the only place open at 4:30am. A little hard to find (look for directions to Hawaii Monarch hotel), but it was worth it. Down to earth, local shop and owner.

Drink definitely did not have the proper foam for a cappuccino, and some milk skin in there as well....😕. The coconut macaron was good. Also probably the earliest opening place you will find

They had no malasadas for sale, just fruit or savory filled danishes. Ordered one guava and one mango danish and neither were anything special, the dough was greasy and tasted grocery store quality. Ordered an iced coffee with coconut flavoring and it was absolutely HORRIBLE. One of the worst tasting coffees I've ever had. Wouldn't revisit or recommend this place. They offer fast service but their quality is severely lacking.

I didn't have any pastries but the coffee is superb. I got one too drink at the store and then one to go. Marvelous place.

We visited Mark (the owner & master pastry chef) every morning during our stay in Honolulu. We tried everything he sells and it was all outstanding! Highly recommend!!

Delicious vegan malasadas! We ordered one with guava and another with coconut filling. Both were terrific. My oat milk latte was also great. Perfect local place in the lobby of a hotel.

The lady that runs this place is super sweet, and it’s probably bc I never had vegan food before but the malasadas are more like donuts (denser) and the vegan custard is different it’s like the vanilla pudding cups you get as a kid but it tastes like powdered sugar. For never having vegan food + wanting warm/ crispy malasadas, I give 3 stars.

Great coffee, friendly and efficient staff, and the pastries look tempting - fresh baked over night by the owner. (My food rating is visual - I can't eat pastries.) Early opening time, which is nice for us tourists arriving from an earlier time zone. Reasonable pricing too.

Such a nice little coffee shop, and one of the few that opens really early. Perfect place to visit before a long day of cycling! The pastries are delicious.

Not a bad coffee shop considering it’s tucked into a little corner of a hotel or mall. There was a good selection of drinks and food. I had the bear claw which is my favourite pastry and it was fairly yummy. My only complaint is, it doesn’t seem like these are pastries baked by the coffee shop, this was a bit of a let down as I was looking for a fresh coffee shop. However, would recommend if you are looking for a good cup of coffee and a treat.

I live here and drive for this amazing coffee and breakfast sandwiches. Also super delirious fresh pastries! And fudge. Definitely best coffee shop on the island.

This is a great place to come and get coffee and pastries! The employees here are super nice and helpful. Coffee is made pretty quickly and very yummy too.

Line was short and quick. The coffee was about the same as we've gotten anywhere else here, good but nothing crazy special. The pastries 😍😍😍 the spinach cheese one was so good! The guava malasada was soooo yummy. And the danishes! Definitely worth trying.

The iced latte and danish were delicious! The owner also does pizza at night right across! The pizza is also delicious. Owner is super nice and a fellow Midwesterner! He changed our lives by introducing us to mochi donuts and now we leave depressed because they are not available in Wisconsin. Do yourself a favor and visit!!

Quick and fresh! We got malsadas, danish, and croissant sandwich and they were all delicious! The lady in the front was super sweet and helpful as well!

  • 5/5 David K. 2 years ago on Google
One of the best croissant sandwiches!!! They also have other delicious stuff. We also got a donut with sprinkles, a chocolate croissant and a Malasada with no filling. All of them were so good. It’s only our 2nd day in Hawaii so we’ll definitely be back. It’s just a little shot but the employees, food and price are 100% worth it!! I wish I had a picture of how good everything was!
