Had a great time at the Mai Tai Bar at the Royal Hawaiian, it's a classic and the second oldest hotel on the island I believe. The Vic's 44 is an excellent cocktail. Right on the beach, location can't be beat, with excellent sunset views. Food is pretty pricey but hey, are you here to save money? You gotta give it a try!

This place is on the beach with an amazing view of Waikiki beach strip. The sun sets the other side, so don’t expect a sunset here. But the view of the beach and people surfing are amazing. Their mai tai’s was pretty good, enjoyed their truffle fries and garlic shrimp as well. The whole hotel has a pink vibe, and gives the royal vibes. One of the oldest hotels and you can see it at some places. Worth the view and the prices for the food.

The turkey club tasted amazing, but the bread was a little too hard for my personal taste. I didn’t want to break my new veneers! Haha! Anyway, the drinks were amazing as well (Mai Tai and a coconut strawberry drink). Everything is overpriced as one would expect on a beach in Waikiki. YOLO!

So the Mai Tais are a five, the food a three. For the Mai Tai, I had both the hotel recipe and the Trader Vic version, and much prefer the latter. On the food side the Korean sandwich was SO salty. Couldn't finish it and I love Korean food. With the fried green tomato BLT the tomatoes were over battered for sure. I would expect better for the price point for sure.

May be the best Mai Thai's I've had. Expect to spend $15-$20 on a drink here. If you manage to get a seat with a good view of the beach, it's an ideal spot for watching the sunset. Always packed with tourists so it can be difficult to get a seat. Try to Vic's 44, you won't regret it.

Location right by the beach was great, had a great breeze at night. The general ambience was nice with a musical performer and tasteful lighting. Unsurprisingly the signature Mai Tai drink is definitely a must try, probably the best I have had. The place was not crowded or busy but food service took 45+ minutes to get some basic fries and bar nuts. Would definitely come back for the view and ambience though would budget enough time.

Great place pretty much right on the beach. Service was good and the drinks were great. Very diverse music playlist too. If you want to chill for a few cocktails and enjoy the view - this is about as good as it gets.

It’s Hawaii so $17 for a small drink is worth it. The pina colada was great. And that’s coming from someone who doesn’t drink and prefers a fruity nonalcoholic drink. There was about a 30 minute wait on a Saturday night with no room left at the bar. Good thing I only ordered one drink because the server was hard to find. It’s a bar inside of the Royal Hawaiian so it’s great if you’re staying there. The food looked good but I didn’t try any.

We didn't eat here, just had drinks. Over $20 for a small Mai Tai seems unreasonable to me. I tried it, and it wasn't worth the price in my opinion. I get it...it is a signature drink; however, all over Waikiki they have different signature items and nowhere else is it so disparate between what you get for a signature item and how much you pay for the value of what you're getting. Other than that, we had a great experience! The local beer selection was better than I thought it would be, the service was excellent (thank you so much to Kealoha, she was very attentive even though she was crazy busy!). The view was also second to none, being right on the beach. I would definitely recommend going, but I would avoid the Mai Tai except to just experience having one. (...unless they lower the price under $21 for a small Mai Tai? Anyone?)

Great to have an iconic cocktail at an iconic bar! I love Mai Tais, and this bar can claim to be the home of this version - with pineapple juice. (I prefer this over the 1944 version, which has no pineapple juice). The servers were attentive, and the garlic fries were an amazing delight, too! If you love tropical drinks, then you owe yourself a pilgrimage to the Mai Tai Bar. ( did I mention that the beach looks great from here, too? :-)

Tasty drinks and a wonderful oceanside view for sunset. The bites including the truffle fries and the ahi poke bowl were quite good as well. The surroundings of tropical plants provide a great escape from the hot sun. Expect to pay for the prime location though as most drinks are around $20 and entrees $30.

Club sandwich was really good and the fries were soo good. The garlic aoli sauce too was delicious. Drinks were really and our bar tender Susan was amazing. Kind, friendly and made us feel right at home.

We are regular visitors to Hawaii and realized we’d never been to the Royal Hawaiian. So this year we decided to go for a cocktail. The Mai-Tai Bar was a fabulous place to stop for a nice cocktail. It’s in the Royal Hawaiian Hotel, right on the beach. It’s very cutely lit with pink table lights. Their Mai-Tai’s were worth every penny. We’ve gotten tired of paying $$$ for a Mai-Tai with no booze. I was pleasantly surprised that this cocktail packed the punch I was expecting for $20! On top of that, the server was fabulous! It’s worth a walk-through and a cocktail If you’ve never been there before.

Great little beach side restaurant in the Royal Hawaiian. I believe the 2nd oldest hotel in wakiki. It's the pink building. It's historic and beautiful. Go see it even if you don't stay there.

Great location for a drink and bite to eat. Atmosphere is tied to the beach. Following current COVID-19 protocols. Can be a bit pricey. Fries hit the spot and poke bowl was delicious.

One of the best kept secrets in Waikiki. The Royal Hawaiian is a serene and beautiful place. Brought mom out for her 65th bday. We went to try Duke’s first but the wait was 4 hours. So we went over to Mai Tai Bar the line was long but my brother had a bright idea to get Mai Thais as we wait. He commented on the increased price but it was a very generous pour and mom was happy. There’s live music at night and had a lovely and memorable evening.

Best steak dinner my wife and I have enjoyed maybe ever!! Located in the beautiful Royal Hawaiian (MARRIOT) in Honolulu right on Waikiki Beach, this place is PHENOMENAL!! The staff is friendly and attentive and the food is world class! Enjoyed dinner so much we came back the next morning to check out breakfast. Once again we were not let down. Absolutely recommend this place to anyone visiting Honolulu!

I had my goal of enjoying a Royal Hawaiian Mai Tai fulfilled today! It was a beautiful day at Waikiki beach & many thanks to Kaci for her excellent service. Thanks also for the great guitarist for his lovely music. I can also recommend the Truffle fries, a very generous portion & a reasonable price I thought. So happy I was able to come here. The photo of the Fries was after we had eaten more than half. 🌺

We do like coming here. Great little bar area by Waikiki Beach....on the beach. Can be difficult to get into, as it is very popular. It's a very busy area, but the bartenders work their butts off. We came for the Vic's 44 Mai Tai today. As we have that specific recipe and have had made them ourselves, their Mai Tais really come up short. I am sure they premake a portion and that reflects poorly in their drink. Keep in mind, we go across the country and internationally to try Mai Tai drinks. We were disappointed here. They do have lots of other drinks, but everything is in mass quantities and made quickly. Although this fell short, we still enjoy coming here. Note: the bartender did try to fix the drink, although I just couldn't drink it. He was very nice and accommodating and ultimately I switched it out for a gin and tonic. My husband switched his out for the Royal Mai Tai, which was so much better.

A fantastic place to chill out by the beach. Very busy place yet attentive waitress. There was a line to get in around 7pm. We ordered their signature Mai Tai which was delicious. $21 each. We also ordered truffle fries which were absolutely delicious. They were served with caramelised charlottes, chives, parsley and Parmesan cheeses served with a black pepper garlic alioli. The fries were the best I have ever had! We’d go back again when we are back in Waikiki. :)

Great food! Excellent service. Accommodated my big family of 8. Garlic shrimp 🍤 had huge jumbo shrimps 😋 Downside.....very pricey. Has a service charge of almost 20%.

We love this bar where you can drink the great mai tai. The foods there are very flavorful also. We had the special mahi burger and it was scrumptious! The atmosphere is relaxed. The live music was great also. It is one of our go to spots while we stay in Waikiki.

The experience was just Excellent!! The server was humorous and let us dine breakfast by the beach. The pink pancake flavor was sweet and unexpectedly delicious. I’ve added guava to the açaí bowl and glad I did. The fruit was fresh and sweet.

Though this may be a resort bar and restaurant, Mai Tai Bar still delivers. Keeping with the pink theme of the Royal Hawaiian, all the tables, umbrellas, chairs and lanterns here were nicely decorated in pink. Seating is first come first served so the tables along the beach with sunset views were taken, but we still managed to grab one with great views. They get busy during the dinner rush but the staff were still really friendly and helpful. The drinks were amazing and the name does not disappoint, the Mai Tai here was fantastic, just the right flavors and a good amount of alcohol to back it up.

It def lives up to its name. Best Mai tai in Waikiki!! Best truffle fries ever! Went Thursday night and the wait wasn’t long. Got lucky and got a good table with a great view Of Diamond head.

Love the Mai Tais and beach vibe at this cool "sandbar". Met Brian, who made our daily trips to the bar extra special with his kindness and attention. We were guests at the Royal Hawaiian and truly enjoyed our experience. We were hoping to see Brian before we left but missed him! Until next time! Thanks for the wonderful beach and Mai Tai experience 🤙🌺

Amazing food, amazing atmosphere and great live music. Really enjoyed our evening. It's nice to listen to the sound of the sea together with friends and family.

Decent place on the beach with lots of good food. A bit pricey, but the food matches the price. (For example you might be skeptical of things like the $15 fries at first, but they are not your average french fries and quite delicious.) Royal Hawaiian Mai Tai wasn't my favorite but wasn't bad.

This place is famous because they created the mai tai but truly the food was the star of the show for us. We didn’t know what to expect because the prices were a bit high and the menu was limited but everything we ordered was delicious including the burger and the lemon pasta. The second best part was the incredible view in Siri right on Waikiki Beach facts by the Royal Hawaiian hotel where we were staying. Would definitely eat here again and recommend.

You can't come to Hawaii and not get a Mai Tai, right? The Mai Tai Bar is located inside of The Royal Hawaiian Hotel along the beachside. Currently in Hawaii, you have to have a negative COVID-19 test within 3 days or show your vaccination card to dine even in this outside location. Perhaps, that's why it wasn't as packed. We sat down and our waitress immediately brought us some water. We ordered the Vic's 44, The Royal Mai Tai and the Pink Casa. Please be advised that the drinks are ladened with liquor. The Royal Mai Tai was good but too sweet. I especially loved the Pink Casa but I had to ask for a tad bit more guava juice 🥴 I had a big lunch prior to coming so I wasn't about to try any of the food. I saw an order of Truffle Fries come out and they looked legit. If time permits, I'm not against coming back to try some of their of other cocktails.

Mai Tai bar was awesome, we got there a bit earlier at 4pm and got lucky with beach front seats. The mai this we got we're fantastically strong and the fries we got we're amazing. Highly recommend. However, if you are walk-ins, starting around 5pm a line starts to form, and it may take you a while to get a table.
