Also, I appreciate how there are many choices of sides including lots of veggies…you DON’T HAVE to select rice and mac salad. I will definitely return to try other food offerings.

WHat a great experience on a hectic night (the last night we can dine in before the second round of restrictions go into effect). They place was packed with reservations - both outside and inside. Despite all this, the waitstaff was super energetic and friendly All the tables were adequately spread out for social distancing, the staff were sanitizing all the tables and chairs between guests, wait staff stood far enough away (while wearing masks) while talking to you. The food was excellent and fresh. Portions were very generous. We made it in for the 3p-6p happy hour and enjoyed everything off that menu (mai tai that was delicious and deceptively strong - be careful!) Poke trio, Kailua Fries, and the pork platter were more than enough for two hungry people. They will be doing free delivery to those who live in Kailua and take out for those who live further. We will definitely be coming back to this place!

I got the grilled catch of the day. The fish was very good. Decent portion for 13$. Swordfish. Hot and juicy. I asked for veggies as my side. The had other items with cooked veggies as a keto option. They gave me mixed green salad as a side. They have a catch on a salad option. If that’s what I wanted, I would have ordered that. But what I got was good. Not what I ordered, but good. But no one wants to spend 13$ on a plate lunch and leave hungry.😑

Mahalo for a wonderful meal! The tofu salad is one of my go-to faves with the miso dressing. And the Red Curry Fish is out of this world (as featured on DDD)!!

The food and service was great! We were in Oahu for 2 weeks and came to Kahai street kitchen 4x The food was cooked after ordering and it was perfectly cooked every time. The short ribs were my favorite, the meat was so tender and it was very savory. I also enjoyed their garlic chicken, it was delicious! The wait time can exceed 20 minutes but it’s worth it!

If you're looking for local style plate lunch that tastes great and affordable, you should come to Kahai kitchen! There's so many options available especially if you are a meat eater. They also have cheaper and smaller lunch options called university mini plates for students. When you arrive you will make an order at their window (drinks are limited) and if you are dining in you can choose whether you want to eat at the outdoor picnic table or air conditioned tables inside. I had their fish tacos and homemade French fries. They were such a highlight of my day. Parking is limited, because there is barely any street parking nearby and I'm sure it's very popular during lunch hours.

Monday special was Moniko chicken. And it was amazing. Reminded me of tangsuyuk (Korean-Chinese sweet and sour chicken). Comes with rice (brown/white/hapa) and potato mac salad. Original and filling lunch!

The decor and atmosphere is outdated, but it's a clean place. In saying this, the food is amazing. The service fantastic. This is definitely one of the best plate lunch places on Oahu. The layers of flavor and thoughtful plating is perfect. My Mahimahi Curry Plate was not drowned in curry. The curry was thoughtfully placed around the rice and fish. This allowed the fried shoestring onions to remain crispy. I found this awesome, because they were careful to maintain the textural component of the crispy fried onions, which enhanced the meal. Their garlic chicken had a definite umami of sweet, sour, salt and heat in addition to the subtle garlic flavor. The chicken was fried to perfection and the rice was cooked extremely well. The people working there are very friendly and makes sure everything is good there. We will be making this a regular lunch place for us. It really is awesome!

Impromptu lunch with some girl friends was made that much better by the great service from Sparkle today! We had the Korean sirloin sandwich, garlic chicken sandwich, calamari, and fries today, recommend getting some lilikoi rites with it😜. Can always depend on Uahi to deliver good food. One of my more memorable meals on O'ahu. I ordered the red curry. The curry was packed with flavor and the fish cooked perfectly. It was a perfect portion, but the meal was so good that I was still sad when it was over and I didn't have any leftovers. I'll definitely be back for more the next time I'm back on O'ahu.

This place is doing great on taking covid precautions. So many places are not, and still want your business, so I appreciate ones that are. The food was great. Got the Ahi katsu special recommended by our server. Her name was Nicole and she was very knowledgeable and extremely friendly. 5 stars to Nicole. Great patio and beautiful are. Definitely a recommend on this spot.

Pretty good, we came on a Monday afternoon. They have inside and outside seating and we sat outside. We had the special for that day, the garlic ship and crab cakes. We also had the kalua pig fries for an appetizer which was really good. My favorite was the crab cakes.

Very generous portions, and between the four of us, we finished every bite. Great local beer selections, and fantastic mai tais. A must try when you are in Kailua.

After Baci’s across the street turned us away, we walked across the street to Uahi’s where the hostess seated us immediately and did so with courtesy. The waiter took our order and the food arrived much faster than we anticipated – the food here is absolutely fantastic. Try and Poke and Pork dish, which is amazing. If we ever return to Oahu, we will be returning to Uahi’s for dinner again.

We ate brunch there and it was clean and the food was delicious, then we went back for dinner and it was delicious as well, our new favorite restaurant, our servers were excellent!!

My husband and I were walking around Kailua and came across Uahi and I’m happy we did! Delicious and flavorful food. Staff was helpful. The fish curry was really good, good portions, more on the pricy side but to be expected. Their kalua pork fries were yummy, and cheap during happy hour. Their seared ahi was good but nothing outstanding. Nice outdoor seating area as well as bar area and indoor seating.

Their Saturday sunrise special brekkie is delicious and reasonably priced. Food is fresh and takes like 15-20 minutes, so keep that in mind. I usually bring a cushion to sit on if I'm on the picnic tables outside, and if it's raining they open a small nice dining room. Their Friday prime rib is amazing & delicious.

Aloha; this is one of the top plate lunch places on island. They have unreal Mac salad to start, great steak plates, and salads. They have gourmet style food with flavors that will blow you away. The staff is super helpful and kind. But I recommend you go at 11am before they get busy with phone orders or customers in general. I will be back to try thier hawaiian style pastrami hoogie.

Food was DELICIOUS! -had the GUAVA BBQ BRAISED BRISKET on Zardy's (the front service gentleman) recommendation, and the LOCO-MOCO COMBO. Both were gastronomically pleasing! -portioning was right. Not too much like other plate lunches. -serves breakfast, although we had plate lunches. -service was courteous, helpful, and friendly. ***Only challenge was looking for parking but that's not the restaurant's fault. Just letting you know to set expectations.

Love their garlic chicken! I accidentally found this place. Saw people standing and waiting and it looked good. So many different menus to choose from so I have to keep going there but difficult to order something else than garlic chicken. We had guava barbecue braised brisket and it was good too. They have picnic tables with a parasol and parking is...er on that weirdly wide pavement. Convenient.(edit: when I got the garlic chicken, I didn't get much sauce and it was a bit dry. Sob)

We had 2 medium Compound garlic butter steaks with mushrooms and onions and it was not good!! It was like eating rubber with no salt. The garlic and butter sauce was lackluster also and I only had to very small pieces of mushrooms and 4 pieces of onions. I was so excited to eat there from a co-workers recommendation that I drove there on my 30 mins lunch break, and when I got back our remaining 5 mins eating was a serious bummer!! We going try again because the cashier recommend the Guava brisket and I still have faith in this local place!

This was supposed to be a hole in wall but it was larger than I thought. Order from one window side and pickup on the other. There is some outside picnic table seating as well. This is on a corner and easy to find with google maps. Parking is very limited and people double and triple parked inside the 4 available spaces. Parking in neighborhood is usually packed during lunch. Always call in your order and then pick up. Food is really good but you will be spending $12-$16 per plate. Salmon plate lunch and short rib loco moco were great with either toss salad or mac salad and choice of brown or white rice. Staff was friendly and helpful. Will be back again. They also take credit cards and cash.

Went at 10am on a Saturday. To our surprise, it was pretty empty. So we were able to be seated right away. They had an interesting menu, so we were looking forward to eating there. Service was good, but the food was just OK. We noticed a couple of things that could been done better. 1) They could have Offered egg white substitutions for the cholesterol conscious. 2) And Offer more than just maple syrup with the waffles. Like coconut or guava. Maybe this is a better place for lunch or dinner, but breakfast is definitely not their forte. Pic is of their veggie pesto omelette & biscuit w/ strawberry jam (would have been better with guava jam).

Stopped here for lunch on our way around Oahu. We had the Garlic Chicken Sandwich and the Kalua Pork with Kale (with Green Papaya Salad). The food was good and the staff were accommodating (my son was able to order a plain cheeseburger). We were able to enjoy our meal on their outside patio.

We wanted to try one of Triple D's Guy Fieri recommended restaurants. Guy liked the Grilled Thai Red curry fish. Two of us tried the Grilled fish and gave it 5 stars $18. I had the Loco Moco $13, I gave it 4 stars. My son had the garlic chicken 4 stars $12 and my other son had the tamarind burger 4 stars $12. The restaurant was clean and had outside dinning as well as inside. Service was good and we didn't have to wait too long to get a seat on Sunday afternoon.

I'm very lucky I work right next to this restaurant. I've had just about every item on the menu and have never been let down. My favorites are the hibachi chicken and kalbi. They also mix up the menu and add items which keeps it interesting. If you're planning on going call ahead but the wait is not too long if you don't.

I am a "local kine grindz" connoisseur. This place has one of da best menus for local style plates on all of Oahu. Their food is simply ono! The combos they serve allow people like me to try out as much of the menu as possible in one sitting. I also really wanted to try out the Japanese breakfast here too but I just didn't have time to. The people that work here are also very friendly and they took the time to explain the specials menu to me and also answer any questions that I had about the plates. I also really enjoyed being able to order right there at the sidewalk takeout window and eat outside. Not enough places do this anymore. Please keep up the great work in the kitchen and on your menu, I will be back for sure next year!
