Stayed here a couple Fridays ago, just overnight as I went out Friday night in Waikiki and didn’t want to drive home to the West Side. Walked in and was greeted by Sarah. She was so nice and helped me with getting a room. I called down to the desk later to get an extra blanket and she went and got me one from laundry and brought it to my room. I normally don’t write about hotel unless they are bad, but I was so happy with the room, the pool view and how surprisingly quiet it was in the hotel for a Friday night. Thank you Sarah and staff

This aging facility could use a sprucing but everything was in working order. We stayed in the private apartments not the hotel. The restaurant has a limited menu and only serves between 5 to 10pm. You can also BYOB if you purchase $20+ in food. The pool/hot tub is open between 10am and 10pm. It's a smallish area but never seemed crowded. It's an interior courtyard so direct sunlight is dependent on time of year and day. The staff was very pleasant and it's hard to beat the Waikiki location. Everything was within a few blocks. Much more affordable than the large well-known beach front hotels. We had an efficiency kitchen to help keep meals out to once per day.

This hotel is NOT at all what the website discloses. If I could give zero stars I would have. 1st night and only night we stayed here was awful. The hotel was musty as soon as you walked in the door. Cecelia at the desk was not friendly nor accommodating. We had rented a car and were told their parking lot was full it was 1st come 1st serve then to find out they only offer 10 spaces. We were told we can park 3 blocks down the street at a choice of 3 other hotels IF they had parking available which was unacceptable but we had no choice. Then our fee at the hotel was to be $177 and they charged $206 which was for a cleaning fee, however we soon found out they do not clean your room daily you have to be put on a list, they also don't throw your trash you are expected to take your trash out to the back to the dumpster. When we got our room which was supposed to be a suit that was another issue. We came up and our door was not closed all the way because the handle and locking mechanism was broken, the AC did not work at all and our toilet didn't flush. I called down to the lobby about the door and she said they will come up. Maintenance came up and immediately accused us of breaking the door saying "what did you guys do?" I got offended and told him how and why would we do this we just got here? I said I was very unhappy with this hotel and that it was not anything like described or photos posted. He said well then stay somewhere else we'll refund you. He took pictures and said they would fix it. After that I decided to cancel and move. We did end up staying the night because the charges us for it . If you expected hotel service do not stay here. On top of that customer service is poor which makes it even worse. Hands down one of the worst hotels and experiences I've had here in the island.

From our first interaction with the staff on the phone to the moment we stepped onto the property, nothing about this hotel feels welcoming much less like aloha. I get that people might want a cheap place to stay but the homeless encampments on the front of the property just don't feel safe and I walked through the lobby and found cockroaches everywhere (see photos... this place looks like the start of a horror film).

We stayed for a night using credit card points but then had to pay a cleaning fee that was over $200 including tax. We were told to take it up with our CC company for not disclosing the fee. More than doubled the price of a one night stay if you are paying. We didn't have any other place to go since our arrival was later in the evening. The linens were clean but the room is generally crusty, chipped and scraped walls and furniture, needing a good refresh of paint and decor. There was also food caked to the wall over the kitchenette table. So I don't buy the cleaning fee. There was only one serviceable elevator that is also crusty. Place would have been pretty chique about 20 years ago. The hostesses were polite and kind but obviously have had these complaints a lot. Actual management spoke in circles about providing even a partial refund since we only stayed one night and the room wasn't clean.

Cecilia at the front desk is the most rude person I’ve ever had the displeasure of interacting with. I never complain, I am a person who would take the wrong plate of food at a restaurant if that meant I wouldn’t have to tell the waitress she brought out the wrong plate. I’m extremely non confrontational. However, when checking into our room, Cecilia couldn’t find our reservation and asked for our unit number. I pulled it up on my Airbnb app and began to tell her the number when she cut me off and yelled at me saying, “I will find it!” I began to apologize explaining I was only trying to help. She cut me off again and said “I will find it. Not you!” My husband and all the customers around me were shocked and confused by her reaction. I began to say, “I’m sorry, I don’t know what I did.” She ignored me. Very rude lady. Reading through the reviews below me makes me feel extremely validated, it seems nearly everyone has had a poor interaction with Cecilia! Hope things turn around for you soon, Cecilia. I’m sure I speak for everyone when I say, we hope you have a huge change of heart and a better day next time.

Nasty nasty nasty hotel. My boyfriend and I went through hell and back with this place and wasted 3 days of our precious time in Hawaii. If you stay at this hotel (which I wouldn’t recommend to my worst enemy) please check under your fitted sheet. We found blood stains on our bed. Went to the front desk to complain. Was told that they didn’t have any spare sheets in the entire hotel. We then had to ASK to be switched to a clean room. However, as it turns out, there was not one clean room in the entire building. The receptionist showed us 3 other rooms, all of which had bloody sheets. Absolutely disgusting. We asked to speak to a manager who we were told would not be there for 3 days (Monday). We were so disgusted to have to basically sleep on soiled sheets, my boyfriend and I felt so uneasy and could not relax the entire time we were there. Monday comes and we finally get to talk to the manager Wade. He completely gaslights us, demands to see proof of the dirty rooms, and basically tells us we can leave if we don’t like it. At this point we have noticed black mold spots on the walls, in the shower, and on the lamps. We also saw spray painted p*nises on the walls in the bedroom that were poorly covered up with paint. This place had to have been a crack house. The manager Wade also told us that it’s normal to have mold in hotel rooms and refused to give us the number for corporate. after doing some digging online and calling around we were able to talk to the Castle Corporate office. Luckily they were able to move us to a very nice property in a different location. However we were extremely disappointed to waste multiple days of our trip fighting to get a clean room. Oh, not to mention, the elevator broke about 3 times during the few days we were staying there. There is no public staircase and there are 10 floors. There’s so much more I could say but this is just scratching the surface of what we experienced there. Btw what everyone is saying about the receptionist Cecilia is absolutely true. Horribly rude and unhelpful.

Friendly staff, great location, and affordable. The hotel has a restaurant, pool, hot tub, laundry facilities, and excellent staff. We felt like we were amongst family. Our family of 9 stayed here this week and we can’t get over our excellent experience here. Everyone was so accommodating. Great hotel.

NOT GIVEN AWAY, WE ARE GOING BACK TO THIS HOTEL! Good room, good location, swimming pool, jacuzzi, good restaurant, own kitchen in the room... so far so good; we have paid more than $100 per night at the hotel and even so, upon entering we already have to pay a separate $125 for cleaning service WHICH WE HAVE NEVER HAD IN THESE 7 DAYS THAT WE HAVE BEEN IN THE HOTEL, they have not cleaned any One day, they have not changed our sheets, they have not disinfected our bathroom, one day they gave us sheets that we had to change ourselves, we asked for some product to clean the toilet and they denied us. In other hotels they also charge you for this service (it seems to be the policy of the Island of Hawaii) but they do clean the rooms every day.

Booked with Priceline. Special was 130.00 with taxes and fees came to 232.00. Got to hotel, they asked for credit card, thinking it was for verification and possible waiving fee upon check out. The Bamboo Waikiki charged another 206.00 for a cleaning fee. They contract with Priceline and they stated that this has been an issue before but the continue to let this issue ride inconveniencing past, present, and future clients without any sympathy nor concern. One could call this fraud. Definitely horrible business ethics. Pool is nasty!

So just to start off going in the reception lady was really cruely and not willing to help when it came to the paper work even when it was all pretty dang clear on what all we requested. Then all they had were only 10 parking spaces that were booked for the week so we couldnt even page at the hotel we had to park at least 1 MILE AWAY then walk to the hotel. Once we got to our rooms the first 2 bed room was filthy and had an odd odor in it. The second 2 bed room the damn door knob was broke and they tried blaming it on us when the house keeper just left and the remote was missing the back. Ohhh and icing on the cake that my parents hated the air conditioning was completely worthless it blew nothing but hot air. When they told the maintenance man and manager they tried to say to charge us for an upgraded room if they wanted to switch. So in conclusion there was more issued but a total failure of a business.

Hotel was exactly what I expected. Room had toiletries, fridge, microwave, burner, and enough utensils. I do wish daily cleaning was included in the price, but this was disclosed beforehand so I managed. I enjoyed the outdoor jacuzzi and liked that the front desk staff was always so friendly. Additionally, there is good musubi and poke spots within a 2min walking distance. And the beach is like 6min away. Grocery stores are also like 6mins the other way. Everything is close by, even the bus stop. Rooms are not the fanciest but also not the worse. If you need something comfortable and affordable to relax in between your Oahu activities, this is the place to be. I would definitely stay here again.

Scammers. The rate advertised as $84 per night. Paid $104 with taxes. Upon arrival was charged $200, they said their “fine print” contained a “cleaning fee.” The room was far from clean. Hot, humid, dirty, old and gross. Do yourself a favor and skip this fleabag. We have just checked in at the White Sands hotel a few blocks over - no hidden charges, beautiful space, amazing pool, friendly service. What a difference.

This hotel is tourist trap. I booked a room through my travel credit card portal using my points for what I thought was a really great deal of around $200 for one night, but only after I booked a non-refundable ticket was I sent an itinerary that showed there was a “cleaning fee” of over $200… literally more than what the room was supposed to cost. I don’t mind paying extra for a good location, but I want to know up front, and not be scammed in to it. I hate sneaky and deceptive sales tactics, and for that reason, I will never return here.

We had to pay nearly $200 USD service fee (mainly a cleaning fee) for a 1 night stay that we were not made aware of at the time of booking (via Agoda). Room was small but comfortable. For the price you may as well stay at the Hilton on the ocean. Would absolutely not recommend booking via Agoda because they falsely advertised the price and did not mention the cleaning fee until after the non-refundable booking was made.

very bad treatment of the reception. towards customers NOT GIVEN AWAY, WE ARE GOING BACK TO THIS HOTEL! I don't know what to say about the room, when entering the room, napkins under the bedside table, strange stains on the blankets and bedspreads, lack of cleanliness, good location, swimming pool, jacuzzi, good restaurant, own kitchen in the room... so far everything right; We have paid more than $100 per night at the hotel and even so when we enter we already have to pay $125 separately for cleaning service WHICH WE HAVE NEVER HAD IN THESE 7 DAYS THAT WE HAVE BEEN IN THE HOTEL, none have been cleaned. Location is great and walking distance to the beach, shops and restaurants. The hotel, however is outdated and old. The lobby furniture looks old and dirty and the elevators and hallways have an interesting odor. The pool is small and located in the dining area. I didn’t swim in it at all because it was not appealing to me to have diners so close and looking on. I would not stay there again

I am giving this place 2 stars for two reasons: Spacious room and great location. Do I ever go back there? Absolutely NOT. Very disappointed by the service. Couple of staff are friendly but most of them are not friendly nor helpful. At our arrival day there were hairs all over the bathtub walls and even on the towels. They don’t provide clean towels. We had to ask for number of times and at the end my husband had to make a call to receptionist and ask for management. In 5 minutes we had clean towels at our door. So we had to beg! For it? Blood marks on bathroom floor next to toilet. Gross! We did not use the pool facility since we did not trust cleanliness of this place. We asked for room cleaning during our 10 days stay and they said they are fully backed up and this service was never provided during our stay. Stains all over poor and dated bedsheets. I am not sure if it was even changed for us. It was quite a challenge to get beach towels. They were always out. Generally speaking poor management and no customer service. At our checked out day the receptionist did not even say “hope you had a good stay”. They just don’t care.

Staying for two weeks, shocked that when I arrived I was hit with a $137 US cleaning fee, after been paid in full through expedia for months. Even more surprising there is no room service , cleaning or linen change till we leave. The place is dirty and dated, safe not working. Would not recommend

I would describe this hotel as ideal for the travellers that want a good solid basic room with everything you need but nothing fancy for a good budget price. Room service is only if you ask for it. The location is the best aspect, about a 4- 5 min walk to Waikiki beach and the main strip. All the shops and restaurants are all on the main strip and many more all around with some really good dining options very close.

The hotel is mixed between guest rooms and residents. We stayed in a studio apartment that was nice enough, but also in need of a face lift. However, it's up the owner of the unit and not the hotel. We did like having the kitchenette in the room to make light meals and laundry was available on our floor. The pool area has a tropical setting and a bar that is open in evening. The building is older and could use a facelift but still has that yesteryear charm.

  • 3/5 Oksana 11 months ago on Google
Update: I changed it for 3* only because all the employees are amazing people doing their best! Also added pictures and you can clearly see that water is full of debris. Location is great! But hotel itself Extremely outdated. Elevator just a disaster! Pool is dirty also. Pool area itself really nice and cozy though. But I don’t think I want to stay here again.

Lovely hotel, we had a great holiday here, clean with friendly staff. Please study their website photos. It's an older hotel full of charm. However, don't expect a shiny new Marriott or Hilton, or you will be disappointed. Great prices and central in Waikiki. Highly recommended.

Great room, awesome location, great sites within walking distance but nothing that went above and beyond. Pretty basic hotel style living but perfect for us. No complaints

This place is really chill and cheap. At night the pool area looks amazing and the hawaii vibe is all there too!!! The only thing i hated about this place was that they didnt sell alcohol. But on the upside, there's a liquour store literally next door from this place and they allow outside drinks. There's no beach view, but we didn't care because the beach was 2 blocks away. I would definitely recommend and stay here again. We were not disappointed at all. Oh and public transportation is right across the street from the building.

This place is awesome for many reasons! The staff is super friendly. You can borrow beachtowels for free. We booked our room via Airbnb, so we had a little kitchen, and the deco was super tasty (flower-lamp, picture of a hawaiian singer, some bamboo elements of course...). The lobby is sooooo nice as well and the pool area too. How they set the lights and there is a little (fake) waterfall at the side of the pool. Palms everywhere and YOU HAVE TO taste the island fries at the bar/restaurant! Just 6.50$ and these were the best fries I´ve ever tasted. They have washers and dryers at three different levels. The Wi-Fi works very well. The beach is just a 5 minute walk. When we looked at a place to stay, this was the cheapest one in Honolulu and we cant believe how great this place was.

Room is okay if you're not too picky about clean functional spaces, but the building needs a lot maintenance and cleaning. The hotel staff were friendly, but the room and building were so disappointing that my husband and I left after just one night. The building is in an area overrun with homeless sleeping on the sidewalks and the police presence was alarming. The tiny veranda overlooks a bus stop on an extremely noisy street making it difficult to relax or sleep. The bed is next to the sliding glass door, and even with it closed, you hear cars, buses or sirens at almost all times. The water in the building was off for a few hours. When it was on, there was no hot water. No fan or window in the bathroom. No fan in the cooking area which made for a very smoky room when cooking. Will not be back.

  • 5/5 Anderson C. 1 year ago on Google
Thank you for a great visit. It is not the fanciest place on Waikiki, but it is clean and spacious with a kitchenette, sitting area, and bedroom area. The price is very reasonable. And the location is great being only 2 blocks from the beach and 2 blocks from the international market.

VRBO booked for a quick trip back to Hawaii. Very clean room with 3 lanai’s. The owners made sure we had everything for a nice vacation including beach chairs and even sunscreen. Very nice pool facing lanai.

We had a lovely experience here. Stayed 2 nights, got a small breakfast each morning with croissants, muffins, and fruit. Coffee was provided in the room. The shower was spacious and we had an ocean view! We left the slider open at night for the ocean sound to fall asleep to. We were greeted each morning with one of the bamboo inn pups named moxie. She is very sweet! A protector <3 Beach chairs are provided. Parking was easy on the property, we had one car. There were 3 available I believe.

This Hotel is mediocre at best. There's everything in the room that you expect and there will be everything else as well as longer you stay. We stayed for a few nights over a week, asked several times if there could be a little room service, hell we even would pay to get the sand and other dirt out of the room besides the rather large cleaning fee we already had to pay for. But all we got was some hollow promise and a few new towels. So if you wanna stay at Waikiki, don't have that huge of a budget and don't mind a little noise from the rather busy street, this is the place to go, as long as you leave earlier than the sand you carry back from the beach covers the whole hotel room floor

  • 3/5 Haley V. 1 year ago on Google
Few blocks from the beach and food around the corner. The restaurant was closed most of our visit so we never got to try it. Didn't get a hot shower until our last day (stayed a week). Pool area is super pretty but doesn't get much sun in November, maybe about 2 hours out of the day. They don't have housekeeping here so you're on your own for trash, refilling toiletries, clean bedding, and fresh towels. They also had no hand soap during our stay so we used dish soap for washing hands. Soap is soap though. The compliments shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and Lotion is Hawaiian tropic brand so that was a nice little surprise. You also can borrow beach chairs and towels so you dont have to bring your own. Overall not a bad hotel at all when the hot water works😁
