Look at the litter around. Indians lack common sense and the authorities let them picnic here without a proper waste disposal system aka there were NO dustbins around. Result is this kind of garbage display at a beautiful setting. This is soon how the entire motherland would look like if we don’t step up and change ourselves.

It's a really beautiful place near Rourkela, in 15km radius, takes around 45 min ride. The last stretch near the dam is quite scenic, and the dam of course has scenic view. The dam is well built and maintained. It's built on a tributary of river Sankha which later merges with river Koel to become river Bramhani. It's a good picnic spot for both friends and family. There is a shop for buying snacks, water etc. It has both natural and man made, there are sheds. Good place for photo shoots. It also has a garden kind of area on one side of the dam where you can relax. Overall a nice place to spend your day. Note that don't follow Google maps route to the dam, use the Pitamahal dam park as a location for route. No charges, it's free.

It's an amazing place. Long way from the city.. So it is very silent and peaceful place. The Dam is really amazing. It looks so beautiful. People visit here to see the dam as well as spending some time with their loved ones. It's a great place for shootings. Pre-wedding or post wedding shoot are done at this dam.. Pitamahal dam is very near to Rourkela. The reservoir and park is very beautiful to go for a week end picnic. The scenic beauty of the place inside forest will touch your heart. The reservoir helps a huge area for agricultural needs.

Most Beautiful place within 15 km radius of Rourkela . It's a must visit place. Can go with family friends. Best time from October to February. Due to Pandemic it is restricted to only 2 wheelers. Also the place is not maintained for quite a while due to the lock down

PitaMahal dam is a short getaway destination from Rourkela, roughly about an hours drive. The road to the dam is narrow with bumpy roads. 2 wheelers can be taken up till the top whereas 4 wheelers can be parked at the enterance. The dam offers a serene view divided by a pathway for visitors and lush garden view on the right.

Nice place for a whole day family picnic. If u wanna cook food there then u must go early morning so that u can find a good place coz people waits there from 4 AM. Really enjoyed alot. Awesome Experience.
