As
a
young
solo
female
traveller,
I
felt
very
unsafe
in
this
hostel.
There
was
no
option
to
book
a
female
room,
and
on
my
second
night
I
was
placed
in
a
room
with
five
other
men,
a
few
of
whom
were
older
men,
and
no
other
women.
I
was
extremely
uncomfortable
and
felt
very
vulnerable,
and
one
of
them
fully
undressed
in
front
of
me.
I
asked
to
switch
rooms,
which
was
done
easily.
However,
when
I
tried
to
tell
the
receptionist
that
in
my
many
months
travelling
this
has
never
happened
to
me,
and
that
it’s
very
important
to
make
the
rooms
safe
for
women,
he
was
cold
and
dismissive.
He
told
me
that
it’s
not
possible
to
make
sure
that
the
rooms
have
more
than
one
woman
in
them.
This
seems
absurd
considering
how
easy
it
was
for
him
to
switch
me
to
another
room.
I
think
that
this
hostel
is
just
not
prepared
to
make
a
small
effort
to
make
women
feel
safe
because
this
is
not
a
priority
for
them.
If
you
are
a
solo
female
traveller,
do
not
go
to
this
hostel.
