We deposited 20€ for the room key and payed 6€for bedding and towels (which we probably didn't need to, because these were already in the room anyway). So of the room in the 4th floor we were heading. The elevator was apparently broken, but it appeared to be broken since a long time. The room was big and we could see the Kölner Dom from our window. We booked a twin room with our own bathroom. Both were mostly clean. The bed looked like just a rollaway bed. The doors and its locks appeares pretty "thin". Overall the whole vibe didn't feel right to us and we were definitely missing the usual "hostel crowd"and it's vibe , which we love when staying in hostel. We eventually did not spend the night. We spontaneously booked another location in cologne for the night and did not regret the decision at all! By the way, when check-in out an hour after we checked in, the guy at the reception returned the 6 € for towels but tried to keep quiet about the 20€ deposit for the key.
