It's split into two halves, one of which is dedicated to Medieval sculptures and works, the other is worldwide. BOTH are awesome and I would highly, highly recommend the combined ticket. Wirklich ärgerlich war aber, dass die gebuchte „All-inklusive“ Leistung um 80,-€ pro Person während der Nilkreuzfahrt nicht angeboten wurde. Man erklärte uns, sämtliche Getränke mit importierten Zutaten seien davon ausgenommen. Ich musste sogar darüber diskutieren ob Orangensaft in der „All-inklusiv“ Option enthalten ist, da Orangen eventuell auch importiert werden. Übrig geblieben ist im Wesentlichen nur Tee, Mineralwasser, Orangensaft und Ägyptischen Bier (welches kaum konsumiert wurde). Die Getränke am Abreisetag mussten zusätzlich separat bezahlt werden, da Dahabtours mit dem Kreuzfahrtanbieter bereits abgerechnet hatte. A modern twist of this museum is, that you are able to download all mp3 files of the audio guide beforehand. So you can listen to the whole audio guide on your phone with your choice of headphones. While being there a special exhibition showed items from the Benin kingdom, which were about to be returned.

I had about hour and a half to go through the museum before closing time and it was for sure not enough to properly see and read about everything that you can find here (if you like to read all the explanations that is). You can see that the exhibitions were put up with great care on every subject shown.

The Benin bronzes exhibit is done very thoughtfully and is updated for the modern situation, including the recent beginning of the repatriation. Sollte sich jeder aber selbst ein Bild machen. Tagesfreizeit war neben allem Programm genügend vorhanden. Eine 30km Tour offroad durch die Berge macht man in der Art auch nicht alle Tage. Vorsicht! Verträgt nicht jeder ;). Zur Abholung hat sich auch noch der Agenturchef vor Ort persönlich nach unserer Meinung erkundigt. Land und Leute super, kein Gefühl von Massentourismus. Wir kommen wieder.

The various exhibitions were presented very effectively and I very much enjoyed the ability to view exhibits "up close and personal". I personally found many of the stories being told to be very moving and the various elements of interactivity to be very novel and effective. Overall I can say this is one of the best museums I have visited in a long time.
