A
traditional
kölsch
pub
with
rather
limited
seating.
The
pub
is
in
a
typical
Altstadt
building,
but
the
interior
is
held
more
modern
and
stylish
with
authentic
carvings
in
lighter
woods.
They
are
a
derivative
of
the
top
Kölsch
brew
pub
Paeffgen
and
serve
a
very
similarly
tasting
high
quality
Kölsch,
which
already
justifies
a
walk
in
during
a
stroll
through
the
Altstadt.
Considering
the
rather
touristy
location
at
the
corner
of
Heumarkt
and
Altstadt
proper,
the
prices
and
the
food
quality
are
very
good.
Their
Schweinshaxe
is
much
better
than
the
one
at
other
brewpubs
such
as
Früh,
Peters,
Malzmuehle,
Sions,
and
others.
It
is
very
large,
not
over
baked
and
dry
as
it
is
the
case
in
most
other
places,
and
still
has
an
extremely
crunchy
skin
(which
is
often
not
the
case).
Other
dishes
like
Schnitzel
were
large,
crunchy,
and
not
fatty.
The
Currywurst
is
gigantic,
and
delicious,
too.
Definitely
a
place
to
go
to
if
you
happen
to
get
a
table.
As
one
of
the
younger
and
therefore
less
popular
brew
pubs
in
the
Altstadt,
one
can
get
seated
faster
than
in
the
larger
brew
pubs
nearby
in
particular
as
a
smaller
group.
Oh,
the
bathrooms
are
small,
but
modern
and
clean.
