Today we tried to eat in Gaffel an Dom The first waiter(man) took the menu of the day from our hands in a very bad way because he said "the time had passed" it was 2'00 o'clock so we were late, but there is other ways to say that. The second waitress( woman) was worse. She was very rude from the beginning speaking to us and when my son asked her for any recommendation she raised hes hands and yelled at us "I don't know what you like". We paid for the drinks, which by the way were very good and never again. I wanted to ask her name but my family wanted to leave the place quickly . Amazing place seating 800 downstairs. We were a group of 13 on a busy Saturday night without a reservation. Within 10 minutes they managed to rearrange tables to accomodate. We were amazed - the place was heaving. Seamlessly ate and drank with very friendly service. Waitress took payment from each of us individually without any glitches using a beer mat as the only aide memoire. Highly reccomend the shweine Hazel the snitzels, goulash soup and of course the apfel strudel. Thankyou a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

We couldn't finish the knuckles because it was so much food but we savored every bite. The sauerkraut and boiled potatoes on the side were so delicious too! Im loving everything about this place! It’s convenient, just near the Hbf and the Köln Cathedral. At first I thought it will be a tourist trap due to the fact that it’s that near to the touristy area. But I was wrong! The food they serve truly is delicious! I tried the raw pork and it kinda reminds me of the Chūtoro cut of the tuna if you’ve ever tried Japanese sashimi. I then had the Blutwurst with mash potatoes and Apple Kompott. That one however I don’t really recommend it, as it kinda reminds me of baby food and the soft texture puts me off. Decor is also wonderful, service is fast, and you don’t need to make a reservation I think. They serve you fast and effectively. Would definitely come back again!

Probably one of the best dinning experiences I’ve had in Germany thus far. Amazing food and big portions, with all sorts of delicious meats and side dishes. My executives brought me to this place for dinner after Gamescom back in 2019 and I absolutely loved it, as did our developer friends visiting from South Korea.

The food and atmosphere is great! The staff is friendly and the food comes to the table super quickly. Only negative part is that for me as a vegetarian coming along with my non-vegetarian friends and family it's kind of hard to see the big menus of the others while the vegetarian options are kind of small and always need additional food like desert or something....
