Mediocre at best. The short front desk staff dude with dark hair and glasses should be friendlier. Unprofessional, unfriendly and why be in the service industry if you won't help guests feel welcomed. The room ventilation is super loud as if broken. I let him know by saying "hey I just want to let you guys know the ventilation is really loud and I'm thinking that's beyond its normal noise. Just thought you guys should know." Then he treated me as if I offended him or that I broke the ventilation system somehow. I was trying to be helpful letting him know. Also, when I said the breakfast price online was less than the 21 euro he quoted me, he said that wasn't his problem what I saw online. I saw 19 euro he quoted me 21. Then charged me 23 plus with tax that he hadnt even mentioned. The entire interactions were Not acceptable!!!! The room was a 3 star worthy at best. Couldn't sit at the upholstered chair bc of how nasty it is with footprints and dusts. Not the worst but definitely more like a mediocre 3 star hotel that needs work.

Decent hotel, about 20mn walk from everything you want to see in Cologne. The rooms are quite comfortable, although about a decade old judging by the interior design. There’s a sauna area, but the Staff telling us it’s not currently active (in june) and we have to warn them an hour in advance so they can turn on the amenities deterred us from actually trying to get in. Talking about the staff, speaking english was clearly an issue for them, although we eventually managed to get our things in order, but they lack proper training and etiquette in dealing with any kind of customer. A bit of blow to the experience of very nice but still expensive hotel.

Very nice hotel near the 3&4 underground stops and about a 25 minute walk from the center of town. The hotel has a nice bar to sit in at the end of the day and a restaurant with a reasonable selection of items on it. The breakfast is very good. The staff and very friendly and helpful. I was in room 238, a couple of minor quibbles about it. The lighting in the bathroom wasn't great for shaving. There's no plug on the right hand side of the bed and the TV channel guide in the room didn't match the channels available. Overall, a good place to stay for a trip to Cologne.

The location was excellent, since it is next to a main road, and a subway station right in front of the hotel. But then again, it was a 10 minute walk to the city centre. We were there for visiting the Christmas Fair.

The room was clean and comfortable, water pressure in the shower was great, breakfast was good, the location was convenient to my needs, so far, no complaints. The only thing that really bothered me was the check out process. I don't believe I have ever witnessed a slower check out process, it took 2 minutes just to print the invoice, like literarily I had to wait 2 minutes for the printer to start. And the first time I wanted to get my invoice they said that they couldn't do it and that it will be done the next day.

Location is great, right next to the metro station. Bar service was very friendly! Rooms are ok, well quipped and clean. Smell a bit of smoke and fried eggs. The check in and check out both took incredibly long. Very slow and unnecessarily process for both. Including the waiting time it easily took them 15-20min. Maybe consider a fast checkout option.

Wonderfull hotel with spacious, clean rooms, an amazing breakfast buffet with a large amount of options and a cozy bar to have a drink in peace. The hotel is located near the centre and it has public transportation right next to it so it's a perfect starting point to go exploring the wonderful city of Köln.

Very professional, helpful, friendly and efficient staff. Rooms were comfortable, other facilities such as irons and ironing boards were also available. Great location, a short walk or if the weather is inclement tram ride into the city. Tram stop is 20m from hotel. Very good restaurants all within a short walk. Would recommend.

Very good hotel. Generally nothing to complain.Friendly and competent staff, the bar personnel is very good. The food in the bar is to affordable prices, good quality and taste. Good breakfast with a lot choices. The rooms are spacious and clean, heating is working perfect. When in Cologne a good choice to stay.

Great experience in this 4 stars hotel. The standard double bedroom was spacious and the bed really comfortable. The staff was friendly. And the breakfast was really good. There is a lot of choices and you can get it until 10:30 which is rare but highly appreciated. The city center s nearby, reachable by metros, buses or by 10 to 15 minutes walking.

Location of the hotel is fine. It’s quite a walk to the city center but there is a metro station right outside the hotel. The rooms are simple, but quite dirty. Our room (406) needs maintenance; rusty mirror, dirty walls, a lot of lime scale in the shower and toilet, as well as in the kettle. The breakfast buffet was simple but fine, I would still recommend going elsewhere given the high price. For the price you pay for the hotel, all the above is what we expected. However, the thing that was really disappointing was the service at the reception. There was a huge queue for checkout and only one person working at the reception. We waited for over 45 minutes only to checkout. I would be ashamed if this would be my hotel! On top of all that, when we finally were checked out and wanted to leave the hotel’s parking lot, the ticket machine was broke so we had to go back to the reception and queue up >45 min(!!!) to pay for the parking. Never again!!!!

As a complete non-smoker, was very disappointed to be given a large but highly smelly room. The room was stinking with smell of tobacco/ cigarette and I had issues with breathing and sleeping in the room.

I stayed for 4 nights. The hotel has a nice and inviting bar. You can use the hotels inner courtyard, too - which is also very nice. The lunch was varied and tasty. The room was spacious and clean. Overall a very nice experience, everyone was helpful and friendly.

Our stay at this hotel was great. It is situated next to the subway and there is a car park underneath, so you can leave your car here and do everything with the public transport. The staff is really friendly and helped us with every question or request. Breakfast is great aswell, with some choices of warm meals. Rooms are clean and big enough. Great hotel!

  • 1/5 Aisha Al s. 9 months ago on Google
The rooms have old furniture with overused pillows and towels, the room service is bad they barely help in any request, there is no iron in the room only an iron room in 4th floor with 2 irons for the whole hotel. when we requested for an extra blanket before sleeping the receptionist said the cleaning staff were available in the morning and she can’t bring it now. Overall, the reception staff are rude, the rooms weren’t cleaned well, no complementary water, It doesn’t deserve a 4 star hotel.

  • 5/5 Donald B. 9 months ago on Google
As an English speaker I was pleased with the general high level of spoken Euglish at the hotel. Everyone I met was polite, friendly and helpful. The rooms were comfortable and well thought out and the plumbing fixtures modern and efficient. The water was hot and plentiful. The room lighting was ample and all the lights could be controlled at bed side, a a very well thought design for those who read in bed. The temperature control was noiseless and the temperature consistently comfortable. Fresh air came in through easy to operate windows overlooking the courtyard. The location was perfect and was within walking distance of the Dom, the central market, charming Severin Strasse and picturesque Chlodwigs Platz. The feel was of a well designed hotel with special attention to the necessities and less attention to the luxuries to keep the room rates a good value. On the downside the rooms were not very large although well thought out.

On check-in the guy at reception (who seemed wholly competent beyond his penchant for lies) expressly told me that breakfast was up until 12pm on Saturday. So I leisurely strolled down, excited to start this simply gorgeous day with a hearty (but healthy) meal, at 10:55 to discover they were packing everything clean up! Oh my was I disgruntled. Breakfast is one thing I truly look forward to as an escape from this wretched existence that has been bestowed upon me. I shan’t return

Per total it was a good stay. However, I have a small complaint to do. I am an Accor loyal member and I mentioned in the check in that I made in advance that we will arrive at the hotel around 11h30, so early check in, with a 4 year old child. When we got there, we were told that the room was not ready yet, so we were told to come back at 15h. This is not OK when you travel with a small kid and outside it is very hot and you are all very tired, especially viewing the fact that I let the hotel know in advance that we will need an early check in. Also, I have asked for a bottle of water in the room ( I had that at other hotels from the Accor chain) and the lady at the Reception wanted to charge me money for it, so I said "no, thanks". I think you should become more flexible regarding your "early check-in", "kids" and "perks in the room" policies, it is the 21st century and you are asking me money for a small bottle of water for my kid, while I paid 300 EUR at your hotel, come on. Next time I could choose other hotel chains.

Not bad but not 4* worth... - People at the desk are serious but unfriendly. - Parking is expensive and you really need to ask to get information about how it works (17€/day, you need to pay at the reception since at the garage you can only pay by cash) - Rooms are ok but not high level :small bathroom with shower, king size bed small (really wondering if it's King), pillows are just a nightmare (not square and too soft, it keeps my head warm but breaks my neck) - Spa and fitness are there but not really attractive - Breakfast is nice but the sweet part could be upgrade - Situation is great, la really close to the old town

  • 4/5 Aleksei L. 7 months ago on Google
Good hotel close to the city center, although not in the center proper but in 15-20 min walking distance. The only issue in the room was that only one of two beds had a wall outlet nearby. The breakfast was also good, better than Ibis ones. Sadly, no oatmeal, only cereals. Also, they restock tea/coffee in the room, very nice, but they do it around 9am and may wake you up. Not everyone is up at this time, especially after a trip.

  • 1/5 Adam F. 6 months ago on Google
The younger male reception staff are disconnected and insensitive. I received nothing but inconsiderate replies with several interactions. Only the men at reception were the problem. The girl was very nice. The other exception was the older man who worked in the early morning. He was also very nice.

  • 4/5 Marina B. 7 months ago on Google
Good location and nice hotel. It could do with modernisation. For a 4 star hotel, no shampoo (just body wash) was a basic let down for me. The bar area was great though and bar staff very friendly and food was really good too.

  • 5/5 Lyla R. 7 months ago on Google
We stayed for 3 nights and the hotel exceeded my expectations. The breakfast buffet was amazing! The location was close to many shops and restaurants and the train stop/station was located right outside of the hotel which was so convenient!

  • 5/5 Bruce G. 10 months ago on Google
Enjoyable stay in a very clean room with three three modes of public transportation just outside the hotel. Also many restaurants within walking distance. (5-10 minutes)

  • 4/5 Frédéric R. 7 months ago on Google
Pros: the placement in the town is good, the bed was comfy and the drinks were good (coffee powder, tea). The sauna is really good: ask the staff to heat it up, go into the sauna, it has 3 levels on which you can lay down (6 people could be laying down at the same time). The staff is experienced and nice. Cons: only shampoo (no shower gel?), the wifi was terrible, we didn't get the info to put the hanging "Do not disturb" on our door so cleaning service knocked at 9am and 10 am, there's a mini-fridge that isn't cold, the spa was really cold and the water level is barely above my legs (I'm 1m65, 65kg). I received a mail about early check-in on my reservation that would cost 100 more euros though I already paid for the rooms. It's an optional additional fee to get the rooms earlier but it wasn't explained clearly anywhere. I had to call to get an explanation. The call wasn't long though I had to be redirected to the English customer service but it still feels a bit sketchy to be asked for 100€ the day before as if it was necessary for the reservation.

Perfect place for us this time of the ANUGA. EXCELLENT SERVICE, VERY GOOD BREAKFAST, SMILING FACES everywhere. Felt like at home. 50 meters to the TRAMWAY, 20 meters access to the U-Bahn. 15- 20 minutes walking to the HEUMARKT, depends how you walk? 😉

the standard of the hotel was great with very friendly staff. situated ideally for all tourist locations but also close to residential areas away from the tourist sites exposing us to a truly amazing local experience.

Good location, nice and clean rooms. Breakfast was good. The only negative was sadly a very inefficient check-in process.

  • 4/5 Mardy D. 5 years ago on Google
Had a nice stay here. Room was clean and big. Quality of the pillows is very poor. Staff was very friendly and the breakfast has a wide range of products. We did the online check-in before we arrived at the hotel but that went not well. Hotel has a good location and it's perfect for a citytrip.

Very nice hotel. Situated in the middle off all the historical museums when using the public transport. The breakfast is good with variety of options to choose from. The staff was very friendly and helpful, specially the bartender. The gym room can improve. Not a lot of options.

I stayed in the hotel for 1 night with a friend of mine. Upon arrival everything was fine and we were even granted upgrades of the rooms to suites due to our Gold and Platinum status at All Accor. When checking out my friend payed for his room without informing me. When I checked out I payed the total remaining amount for both rooms. This means I over-payed since my friend already payed off his room. I am almost 1 month further and the hotel is hardly showing any assistance and urgency to solve this matter. Very disappointed about the bad communication with the hotel in order to resolve this issue.

Professional and friendly people at the reception, clean rooms and delicious breakfast. Nevertheless, very good burgers and great beer served by the hotel's restaurant. In my opinion, the location is very good : near train stations (there is a underground train station in front of the hotel but I had to go no more than 7 minutes walking to my train station) and the historic center to which you can go by using a street with a lot of restaurants and shops.

Been there during a business trip to Cologne. Pros: - Good location; right next to Severinstrasse subway station and close to U-Bahn station. - Modern and clean - Has a bar inside for quick bites and other drinks Cons: - Parking is right below the hotel and costs € 19.5. For such hotel prices, the parking should be either free of charge or at least lower. - There is not even a bottle of water or drink in the rooms. We are talking about a 4-star hotel.

  • 3/5 Federico S. 1 year ago on Google
When you enter to the hotel's Hall, I can say that's quite modern and comfortable. The staff is really kind and it helps you really well. The rooms are a little bit old fashioned, so they need a bit of restyle in order to be rated a little bit better. By the way, space is enough and comfort is pretty ok. One star more for the breakfast preparation and the availability of foods, marmelades, bread and whatever you might need.

  • 5/5 lorena p. 1 year ago on Google
The room was super nice. I asked for a room with balcony and it was great. You can hear a bit the tram from the room but was not so bad. Good service and breakfast of good quality and variety.

  • 5/5 Hareesh B. 1 year ago on Google
The rooms were clean with adequate facilities. There is a U-Bahn station right in front of the hotel and it takes you to the old city. A gym and sauna is also available on site.

  • 5/5 arckpi 2 years ago on Google
Our second stay here - very nice, like the first time. I think we got a free upgrade as the room was quite big on the 4th floor - the really big ones are on the 5th if I remember correctly but you have to take the stairs for the last floor - which makes it extra cosy. The terrace is nice - if it does not rain. The neighbourhood is quiet although there is some traffic from the Severin bridge. But the underground station is right in front of the reception so that is a plus. Anyway it is quite central, we walked to the cathedral and back. There is also a small underground parking which costs 16 euro per day - a good option if you think you need it.

  • 3/5 Jafar C. 2 years ago on Google
Positive: Clean and comfortable room, helpful stuff. Negative: in booking.com the breakfast is not included in the price, you have to pay 19€ per person per day for breakfast which in my opinion doesn't worth it with a normal breakfast. They could put 2 small bottle of water inside the room at your arrival.

  • 3/5 William H. 1 year ago on Google
Good location if you want tube. Offered free courtesy drink on arrival . Apparently Cologne beer measures are 20mil. Pretty shocked just come from The Hof house in Munich. Needed 20 to match my last drink ! Need to be on 5th level which is 2 upgrades or it’s average . Barman very rude when politely asked why? Stated Das ist Cologne measures. Disappointed ! Cologne Alt Stadt magnificent only 15 minutes away. Go there as much as possible

Second time there in the past few months. The location is excellent, really convenient for visiting Cologne and with lots of cafeterias and shops over to the other side of the bridge. The rooms themselves are spacious and well kept, and the common areas are very pleasant. They're a courtyard with plants and seating in which to spend time if you fancy staying in to relax. The staff were also exceedingly friendly and helpful.

The hotel and the staff were amazing. Especially the receptionist who attended to us. The room is spotless, the breakfast was delicious and they even sent us a cake to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday. Everything was WONDERFUL!

  • 2/5 Consuelo M. 2 years ago on Google
Rooms are nice and the hotel is really close to the U bahn stop, which is why I chose this four star hotel for my business trip. Also, there is a guy at the reception who is really professional and welcoming. Besides these things, I've only seen lack of organization and professionalism. Everything, from the check in to the registration for breakfast or even dinner in their restaurant took an unnecessary long time, requests of extra hangers or pillows for the room were taken badly and not seriously from the staff, the cleaning service of the room has been inconsistent, toiletries were absent and sometimes after the cleaning of our room some towels were missing. No organization at all.

  • 2/5 Liza B. 1 year ago on Google
There were positive and negative aspects during our hotel stay. The parking garage was convenient and reasonably priced. The staff was courteous and fairly competent. I say fairly competent, because the representative checked us in under another guest's name. This took some time to resolve. Our junior suite was roomy, quiet, dirty and over priced for the value. There were long hair stands on a chair, a mildew ring around the sink stopper, bugs by the lamp, stains on the curtains, and chairs were stained. Breakfast options were plentiful and tasty, something for everyone - fruit, pastries, bread, eggs, bacon, cheese, yogurt, juices....The location is great. You may take transit in less than a 2 minute walk or walk to most desirable sites within 10-20 minutes.

Good facility. Bar is ok, with a reasonably good, short list of options. 4star because 3h before pre-defined check out, room service knocked once and opened our room door right after, demanding a loud notification from my end about the fact that we were still in it. A message to management: make sure checkout schedules are shared with all. Cheers

Nice hotel. The breakfast, patio, service, and big rooms with balconies make it excellent. Note: the gym is very basic and the sauna was broken during our visit.

Located just next to the u-bahn, excellent for travelling to koelnmesse for exhibition. It is located slightly outside the main shopping and dining area, but still reachable by foot or few stops via subway ride. Staff are extremely polite, but there are usually only 2 open reception, so at busy times, there is a short queue. Very clean, spacious, modern room. Water heater and pressure is great. Really enjoyed my stay.

  • 4/5 Kevin R. 1 year ago on Google
The hotel is located some 10 minutes away from central Cologne. There is nothing much in the immediate area so dependent on hotel facilities. The standard of the hotel and car park are good. Staff have been very rigid in their approach and everything you ask for has to be paid for!! Paying for 3 full days of car park, just because we exceeded this by an hour we were asked to pay extra!! This is not a public car park but one for residents and btw it's not cheap!

Had a good 3-night stay, meeting up with friends and seeing some of the sights of Cologne. Spacious room and comfortable bed. At a different time of the year the balcony (+view to the cathedral) would have been a bonus.

The room was very clean and we'll kept. Breakfast was great and dinner was very tasty (although dinner was not included). Free parking was very useful, and you are walking distance away from the cathedral. The only problem that I had was that the original room had been smoked in, however; they immediately gave me a new room. Overall very good service and food.

Good location for the Chocolate Museum and right next to U-Bahn Severinstraße, but otherwise not particularly attractive location. We had a junior suite in order to travel with a grandchild. (other room options would have meant sharing our bed with her.) Very friendly service and good breakfast.

Great hotel away from the busy area but close enough to do all the things you need to do in Cologne. Has a metro stop right outside which also an added bonus. Only problem was that the room was ultra hot and it wasn’t that hot outside so would not wasn’t to be there in the middle of Summer. The aircon seemed not to be working so maybe they dont use it in the colder months but wow it was pretty hot every time we entered the room and had to open all the windows and doors to cool it down. Bonus is that breakfast was included
