Had a very rude situation with front desk staff (K) who made me feel very awkward from her comments in front of the entire lobby and staff present (who did not say anything to her about being rude either). I addressed it and walked away. When I looked back she was laughing with the other person on staff about how she treated me. Not going to recommend this hotel to anyone. Also, the gym is not free even though they charge an higher daily rate than many in the area and the other hotels have free gyms.

Location was good , not too far from main center, approximately 10 to 15mins walk to town center. Thus, no noise from crowd. It was well equipped, with electric kettle, bath tub. Good bedding with soft pillow. Parking was 29Euro per day (we only chk in ard 9pm and out by 12noon) . Buffet breakfast has a wide variety both hot and cold food maybe there were lots of visitors, it's has a pancake making machine. Could have 3 coffee machines instead of 2.

Well, this is one of the best hotel for tourists based on location. Near to grocery stores and many shopping areas within walking distance. Recommended if you and your family want to visit Köln with short period of time. The hotel is decent service but the bed is very very comfy... Breakfast is not bad but not too special. Btw, why its decent service, because in Germany if you have luggage you have to carry everything by yourself... Don't try to compare with any Asians hotel's service...haa..haa...we're mostly kind people with friendly ambient...

Very nice hotel, clean place and location as expected from the Dorint. Lovely view of the cathedral from my room. The room is also nicely decorated and the staff are wonderfully polite and efficient. The shower could be better but it could also be me being nick-picky. The shower gel is very nice Food is quite ok, though being in Cologne, there are so many options just on the hotel's doorstep. Would definitely stay again.

We spent the New Year's here. It's a huge, impressive hotel, with very large rooms that are well insulated from outside and inside noises. However, it got its stars a while back, time left its mark. Time doesn't forgive anyone, not even Dorint. Location: city centre, only 8 minutes walk to the Dom and central train station. Not on the street closed to cars access (where all the noise is), but on one right next to it, so it was isolated from noise and crowds. Also close to the river - if you run, we recommend that you pass the bridge and enjoy the quiet trails on the other side.

Hotel is situated in the very centre of Cologne - near public transportation and in direct walking distance to major shopping district as well as the banks of the Rhone river. Rooms are quite large, but furnishings are on the quite dated side. That especially includes the mattress (way too soft) and bedding (way too thin) and cushions (very worn out). For me, this is a major problem since it was very hard to get any good sleep: major negative point. Breakfast service is reduced due to COVID, but selection and quality of offerings is generally speaking fine. However, it's clearly not up to par for a luxury business hotel standard. Room service though is really very good and the service staff are very nice, too. Parking is a big problem since there is practically none available around the hotel, and one has to use the hotel garage. The latter is a public parking facility also used by the hotel. Thus, it can happen quite frequently that the garage is filled up, and one has to circle the block until a spot inside becomes available. Best to use public transportation to get to the hotel. Overall, a satisfactory stay - with very little sleep.

In the heart of Cologne is this beautyful place. The room was very cool and the was fair. I recommend not the breakfast because its really expensive and not unique. You can get in the center of Cologne in 3min and just enjoying the beauty of the city :)

Despite the hotel's notable location and cleanliness, I encountered an unpleasant situation with one of the receptionists. Although the hotel had vacant rooms as shown on booking.com, the receptionist told me that no rooms were available when I requested an additional room. When I pointed out the available rooms on booking.com, the receptionist reluctantly revealed that there were three rooms left, but suggested that they may be far from my current rooms in the hotel without knowing what room numbers I had. The receptionist wasted time confirming the booking and even delayed further while serving other customers. It was apparent that the receptionist was unwilling to give me the third room and exhibited unprofessional and unfair behavior. Although I won't disclose the name of the receptionist publicly, I'll be pleased to provide the hotel management with his name if they request it.

Check in made perfectly Once in the room the window was broken! Nothing was done to fix it even if I asked them. 24 hours later I had to ask again! The receptionist didn't believe us! Then other rooms were available, then he proposed a downgrade ! Once I refuse he finally changed us the room! The new room had the door safe fallen on me! Told the reception again but nothing had been done! And the receptionist MR möller was rude and not very helpful for a 5 star hotel I was expecting better standards and friendly staff So avoid this place if you want to have the service matching the standards u are expecting

Good hotel located in the city center with everything in walking distance, comfortable rooms. Great breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. The only downside is that the swimming pool and SPA fees were not included in the price (As advertised by the staff, this information is public. I still maintain that an all included experience would be even better).

Average rooms, no minibar, no coffee machine even in the comfort rooms, average breakfast with amateur-made greasy pastries in a good location with kind friendly staff. The shower of my room could be used for swimming as well! Joking, I mean it'd be nice to take care of the clogged drains. It feels not too hygienic. The bar serves a pastrami sandwich that is mostly truffel-aroma mayo (not real truffel), bread & maybe 50g of Pastrami for 19€. A 80g of Bio Pastrami at Aldi is 2,60€. The brioche bread of the bar, contrary to the one served for breakfast, is very well-made. Overall, I didn't feel that this was worth the money spent.

The room was fine, though we had to remove a nail from the floor and lots of hairs from the showerdrain. Also the sink had to be repaired while the water didn't go through. After a good night of sleep we decided to have breakfast in the hotel. On our reservation site we read the breakfast would cost us 29 euro, so ok for 2 adults, a baby and a 4 year old. When we checked out we had to pay 58 euro for breakfast! A shock and a very inappropriate price. We told reception this price is absurd for breakfast and I mentioned I had 2 pieces of bread and two eggs. The answer was 'the restaurant is still open, you can get more breakfast if you want'. Quite unrealistic offcourse. For such a price (29 euro per adult) we expect a la cart service instead of a buffet, fresh coffee instead of machinecoffee, fresh juice instead of 'juicepowder mixed with water' and we would expect fresh avocado instead of lightgreen spicy stuff with a sign saying 'this is avocado'. In town you can pick nice places to breakfast for less money and more service and fresh food. If only we would have known... The price for breakfast in in combination with the lack of interest of reception makes us feel treated really unfair. A big negative experience and an absolute negative advice fot others visiting Köln. We send an email to the hotel and send feedback via our reservation site but never got any reaction of the hotel.

I don’t want to judge anyone or anything here. But service is the most valuable asset to any company and business. Our concern here is about the place inside this hotel. 🏨 “Karry’s New York” as we went there several times during our trip. To relax and have a good time. “David” the manager was rude with everyone even though his associates but he extended his attitude even with us 🤔 must be nice with everyone by default. We tried to avoid him many times by asking his colleagues but they asked us must be through him !!! Why ? Wish to change his personality recognition immediately or to have a short leave think 💭 a bit

I had my stuffs stolen during my breakfeat in this hotel. It is an absurd and the hotel management hasnt done nothing to help me. There was a complete lack of respect with a foreign in a strange country. I dont know why, but it looks like that I am a foreign, they dont care about you.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel, and it was truly a fantastic experience. The staff was welcoming and attentive, making sure my check-in process was smooth. The room was not only comfortable but also impeccably clean, providing a cozy retreat after a day of exploring. What stood out the most was the exceptional service. The staff went above and beyond to ensure my stay was enjoyable, and their friendliness added a personal touch to the overall experience. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a delightful stay. Thank you to the entire team for making my visit memorable. I'll definitely be back on my next trip!

This clean, well-run hotel hotel located near shopping, transportation, restaurants, etc., exceeded our expectations with hotel staff delivering top quality service you normally would only expect to find at luxury hotels like the Ritz Carlton. Hotel managment is obviously paying attention to ALL the details, including providing access to a professional concierge who delivered personalized service. Great value, definitely would stay here again. Highly recommended for the discriminating traveler.

Rooms are clean and big, but beds were bad. The single beds are quite small and way too soft. Slept bad the 2 nights I have stayed there. Temperature in the room: too hot. And not solvable with aircon / climate control. You could open a window but then you have the outside noise. Didn't had breakfast cause €29 for breakfast per person is just too much. Not possible to make a reservation in their parkinglot (31 euro per day).

False advertising - pictures of pool on various websites and mentions - yet the pool costs money to use! You claim to be a 5* hotel (and charge such prices)- this is what you would expect from a dodgy budget motel! The answer given is "well it's a separate company running it" - er, ok, well then why advertise it as being part of the hotel?! My home is opposite a public swimming pool, would I advertise my home with photos of the pool and implying there is access to one included? No, of course I wouldn't. In general the hotel is a good 3* at best for many other reasons (read reviews). Who on earth awarded 5 stars to this hotel? Was the inspector related to the hotel owners?

Excellent location, 5/5, very clean rooms 5/5. Service at desk is average 3/5. We skipped the room cleaning next day but we didn't get the free drinks vouchers. We had to read about it in the room and explicitly ask for it later. furthermore the rooms were very warm, ventilation/klima did not cool it down, we had to open a window.(2/5) Also minor things like a barely working shower sink and some holes in the bed lining and an overcrowded breakfast with no place to sit for 15 minutes. Not worthy of a 5 star hotel. Might return for the excellent location.

Very nice place near everything. My wife made last minute reservations and they were able to accommodate at a reasonable price. Parking is a little pricey and since it isn't reserved strictly for the hotel, we had to sit in line for availability. The staff was amazing and a very nice breakfast (€25), but I cannot complain.

Air conditioning does not work properly. Despite setting it to lowest temperature my room was being heated all night. Opening window didn't help much due to small size. Staff could only offer a fan for me... So had to sweat all night and this a 4 star hotel experience?

  • 1/5 Hassan A. 4 years ago on Google
The worst experience among all hotels i've been to so far. Air conditioning doesn't work and i had to sweat all night And next day they upgraded me to another room "which has a better air conditioning as they said" but it was a lie The whole building doesn't have proper air conditioning system and they don't inform guests about this issue when they check in At least if i knew, I wouldn't checked in at all! Never coming back here

Good hotel. Quiet and clean. The staff are always very cheerful and helpful. I'm not a fan of the beds and the comforter with no sheet. It might be a German thing. They have access to a very good gym in the building. Unfortunately it isn't open 24/7. Which can be a problem for us international travelers that are up 1am and want to get in a workout. Excellent bar next to the lobby.

  • 4/5 Yoni H. 4 years ago on Google
Nice hotel and good value for money. Big rooms. My room had both a shower and a bath. Toilet paper is low quality which I wouldn’t expect to see in a 5 star hotel in germany. The couches in the lobby could use a renovation... air conditioning is not the strongest so not sure it can handle July and August.

I always stay at the Dorint Heumarkt when I'm in Köln. The location is perfect - close to great restaurants and the walking street as well as the Dom and train station. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The hotel's relationship with the Holmes Place Health Club makes it possible to get in a great workout before starting the evening with a tasty cocktail at Harry's Bar. The Dorint Heumarkt is THE place to stay in Köln.

Love coming to stay at this hotel: the location cannot be beat! Rooms are large and comfortable. Walk to tons of shopping and eating/drinking options! Not far from cathedral!

The only acceptable thing are the big rooms and the location.Very poor breakfast. NO fitness included but must pay 16 Euros over the already expensive room rate. Unacceptable for a 5 stars hotel. Do nor recommend

Ower 300€/night with no minibar, slow service, we need to make 5 times new room keys, snack shop was superslow, lobbybar was empty becaouse it is super expenssive if you compered it to value. Our group will never take this hotel again, so sorry.

The great place to stay. Very nice stuff. Location in the city center. Breakfast is tasty. Recommend this hotel. Thank you so much for supporting Ukraine!

The staff Will treat you as a queen all the time till your checkout. As soon as you are out, they will treat you like a non human. I checked out and entered again since I needed a glass of water (30 degrees) and asked it to the receptionist while sweating and suffocating. He watched me in the eyes and told me no. So this is not what I call a nice experience. Never again.

I can recommend this hotel with a clear conscience. It is perfectly suited and located for business stays. In addition to the comfort of overnight stays and the perfect service of the employees, thanks to its exclusive location it offers easy accessibility to the city center, if you like the pleasant bar or shopping life in addition to business. I am happy to recommend this hotel again and again.

  • 1/5 Jemila S. 1 year ago on Google
Very rude receptionists and poor service. Limited amenities and when you have them they are of poor quality - we were given very old and ripped towels. I do not know how this hotel got its 4+ star ratings - I will not recommend it to anyone, despite its excellent location.

The absolute kindest staff, lovely decor, great food. We have never felt more respected and cared for in a hotel! Very close to the best Christmas market, the cathedral, and the chocolate museum- we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. It’s super kid friendly too!

I came back to the room at four o'clock and no one bothered to clean and tidy up. I called the reception several times until they arrived.I had to wait over half an hour until they cleaned and fixed the room

Super expensive for the room and service provided! For more than 300€ a night during FIBO, I was expecting more… I ordered Uber Eats for dinner and came to pick up my food at reception. After going to my room, and getting myself ready in pyjamas, I found out no cutleries were provided and there were none in the room either (which is funny already in the first place, not even a teaspoon was available). So I call the reception (which only answered after 5/7 calls and probably 10min of waiting) to ask if they can help to provide a fork for me to eat. What a surprise to find out that they can’t do it and that if they do it, they will charge a 15€ service fee for bringing something that should already be in the room?! My goodness.. honestly, I’ve never been to a hotel like that… what non-sense to charge 15€ to bring a fork… lol! Not blaming the staff there as they just probably follow hotel policy but Dorint please, do something.. especially when you price your rooms at the level of a 5-star hotel!
