I just had a delightful walk from the uppermost point to the very bottom and back. It was lovely! I saw all sorts of birds, driftwood, seeds, and even some crabs. There werenโ€™t very many people, perhaps ten in the hour I was there. Itโ€™s a great beach for wading, sunbathing and taking in the breathtaking views. Itโ€™s not the best for swimming.

My favorite beach for sunrises. You can see the sunrise year round from this beach. Not the greatest for surfing but the view is great. You can watch the sunrise and the sun slowly light up the mountains. On a clear day you can see Molokai and the Makapuu light house.

Fort shade beach is one of the most enjoyable spots to relax on MCBH. Nice sandy beaches if you are inclined to sit in the sand. Even on a Sunday afternoon I was able to park six feet away from the sand. On the east end of the base there is a small stretch of beach somewhat protected by reef structure even at high tide. Very very little shade is the only draw back.

Lots of baby Portuguese man o'ย war were on the beach. Be careful. Otherwise it's a beautiful place.

Wonderful almost Private Beach. Nice little natural barriers make for excellent wading pools for littles.

This is located on the Marine Corp base, so a DoD ID is required to visit. There is always plenty of parking with several lots right next to the beach. It's too rocky for swimming. It's more for laying in the sun, playing in the sand, or a nice walk. My favorite part is the rocky area on the far left side. There's a path through the rocks & you can find a lot of wildlife. The only downside is the trash & the smell, which can sometimes be a little too stinky for enjoyment.

Typically on the rough side, mostly rocky. The are a few places that are good for entering the water. Fishing and spear fishing are decent here, though most days the water clarity is sub-par.

People are always swimming or surfing. Even their kids. I wouldn't suggest it because the was can be rough for young ones. Good place to through a party and the view is nice.

Get up early and watch the sun rise. Good for tanning. Not good for swimming due to the rocks. It's on a military base, so you habe to have an ID card to get in.

  • 5/5 James W. 3 years ago on Google
Mountain views from this beach are unlike any other on the windward side. Hope your a vet, in the military, or know someone who is so they can get you on. Aloha!

Not bad for walking and some playing in the waves (there is a small section), but it's too rocky and choppy for anything else. There's decent parking, a couple of picnic tables, and a port-a-potty, but I didn't see any showers or hose to rinse off.

Rugged tide pools and plenty of sandy beach. Not much shade except at the southern end. No permanent restrooms, but there is a porta-potty

Small, pretty beach. Able to have a bonfire on the beach- just bring your own wood. Gorgeous views. Not really a swimming beach, more of a wading/enjoy the view spot. Grills are available here too.

Good to spot to watch the sunrise

  • 4/5 Jj K. 3 years ago on Google
Not a bad beach at all very sandy the only problem is the rocky areas in the water itself. It is however a fair fishing area.

๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ The best beer selection of any brewery on the island, in my opinion. IPAs, lagers, pilsners, and porters all have really good flavor. I guess that's all that matters being a brewery because the food seems to be hit or miss. The burger was great, but not much flavor on yhe calamari. Prices seem a lit...
