Small coffee shop. Has 9 tables. Upon entering around 8am my son and I were greeted & seated right away. My son got a mini teriyaki chicken plate & I got a mini chicken katsu plate. Great spot for Hawaiian comfort food.

The service is always quick and staff is very nice and helpful. Try to go here after rush hours so the wait time to get a table would be shorter. I always get their Kalbi Fried Rice, or Loco Moco, or Oxtail soup, or Teriyaki Chicken, or Ramen.

Not a local but been coming to this restaurant forever. I never waiver and only order their oxtail soup. This is my comfort place and can eat here everyday. Service is excellent and the young ladies tending are awesome.

Classic diner with classic local favorites. We try to stop in every few weeks. Their Loco Moco is one of our go to's with it's home made hamburger patties taste like Auntie made it. Order it with fried rice for a bonus boost. Speaking of, the Fried Rice Omelet is ono too. Plenty parking, black coffee, and friendly service. Please go check them out when can.

I would highly recommend to stay away from the garlic shrimp. I've been having diarrhea/blood for 2 days and it's the only reason I'm writing this review. Get what there known for: oxtail soup. That's where it's at.

Beef stew was one of the best on island. Beef was tender and the potatoes and carrots were cooked perfectly too. Kalbi was tender and nicely seasoned. Char siu ramen was good - char siu was really tender. Great friendly service.

Kapiolani Coffee Shop is the place to get ox tail soup. There food is really good I know because I worked there for years. But today my family and I had breakfast take out and my daughter found a dead fly in her fried rice. Disgusting! She went back to the take out counter and the girl was trying to get her to order something else. My daughter was so disgusted that she just wanted to show them the fly so it wouldn’t happen to another customer. Well, my daughter did get $12 and somewhat change back but no sorry or an apology at all. DISAPPOINTED!!! Just saying, PLEASE Kapiolani Coffee Shop management and employees be more careful and aware of this kind of stuff. I worked there so I know how things run there. I usually am one not to say anything but it made me sick to my stomach because I had ordered fried rice too.

Really good oxtail soup! The pork leg soup is heavy on the flavor but the meat taste delicious. We didn’t know both soup comes with rice so ended up ordering too much food but everything was amazing and local.0

Seriously our first time here. Oxtail soup was our main reason to go. It was served with lots of cilantro, minced ginger on the side and a couple scoops of rice. It was filling and tasted good. Hit the spot for craving of oxtail soup. Staff were friendly.

11/20/2021 Hubby was craving Kim Chee fried rice. He remembered that he saw a sign posted some time ago so we came here for takeout. He ordered Kim Chee fried rice with two eggs and got me a bacon & egg sandwich. He said his rice was had a good flavor and had a lot of Kim chee in it l. I loved my sandwich! I'm picky about sandwiches and this one had all the parts right. Great bread, bacon was cooked crispy, scrambled eggs were fluffy, and the lettuce was crunchy. There was a perfect amount of mayo. Simple and awesome!
