We came from Arizona to spend seven days. Stopped in to check out the food and was pleasantly surprised. The hostess was very friendly. We had a short wait of about 5 minutes. They sat us down to a cute little table for two. The restaurant was clean and the atmosphere was beautiful. Our waitress was knowledgeable of the food on the menu. She never let our drinks get less than half full. Greeted us with a smile and positive attitude every time she checked in. The tempura shrimp and vegetables, soup, salad, noodles, rice and sushi was amazing! The portions were the right size and the price for what we got was very good. We will definitely return on our next trip to Oahu without a doubt. I'll also tell everyone I know by word of mouth how well our dining experience was and quite possibly do a review video on my YouTube channel (jiujitsu2000). Came with a friend who lives in the area and said it's a local favorite. The food was tasty and the service was great. Tea and water cups were kept full and they checked to ensure everything was okay. I felt the portions were on the smaller side for the price and my chicken katsu was mostly skin, a drawback. The restaurant has a lot of seating for different group sizes so would be a good place for larger groups. The decor is simple, but nice. Great local eatery I've driven by a lot, but wouldn't have thought to stop at if not for my friend.

Nice Japanese restaurant in the area! Appreciate the sets along with the sushi rolls and bowls that you don't really find other places. Good lunch specials and combos. Service was amazing, food came out really quick, and they checked in on us every couple minutes.

Tourist here, stopped by after a long hike. I was a little taken back by the prices but the food won me over so much we came back fie second visit. I don't always drop $100 for 4 of us in a meal but this is just that good.

Super friendly, very covid conscious, even took our temperature before seating us. Cara was amazing, patient and great recommendations. Loved the lunch box, butter fish and Godzilla sushi, crabcake lettuce wraps were delicious. We cleaned our plates!

First i called to RSVP for 7pm. Then upon arrival i was half hour early. People who was waiting without rsvp was called in before i was. When i finally sat down after 7pm i was given water and hot tea. I waited half hour for my food from the senior menu. 2 tables next to us came in 10 mins after and got their food first! Wow what a terrible experience and they are not busy.

Went for lunch and was pleasantly surprised to find a great senior menu! We are vegetarian and was able to order vegetable tempura (instead of tempura selection that included shrimp). The waitress was awesome as she said we could have all vegetables but wanted to inform us that everything is cooked in the same oil (so it would be cooked in the same oil as the shrimp tempura). That was not a problem but we just felt that she went over and above to share that info and we were very appreciative. There are many reasonable lunch specials and the atmosphere is quiet and calm. Will come again!

I always frequent Gyotaku, Niu Valley, today I ordered the California Roll bento & 2 order butterfish w/tempura take out of course. To my surprise the butterfish was a very small portion obviously unlike the photo shown for their take out of $18.+ I was very disappointed.

My favorite dish is the Teri Salmon with white rice, miso soup, salad and tofu. This is the senior menu with different choices. In the beginning, the age limit was 55 but I think it was such a great deal when dining in and with friends. Age limit went up to 60 and so did the price, it's about $14.95 but still a great price for good food and wonderful service. The service staff are friendly and very helpful. Sorry no pictures that's how good it is. Try them out and I promise, you'll be a regular customer. See you there!!😎
