We've been talking about going to eat here for well over a year now and thankfully, we finally went tonight. Let me put the important thing first, it's BYOB ($2.50 corkage fee per person) but can bring beer or any other beverage you'd like. We'd made reservations for a group of 4 at 6pm (not required as people were walking in without them all evening). There are a few parking spots out front, but also free street parking and a lot across the street. I know nothing about interior design, but the inside is awesome, like nothing I'd ever seen. I felt like I was walking into a different country. My parents were visiting and my dad is very hesitant to different cuisines and especially styles of eating. That being said, he loved everything about the experience. You can sit on the floor, on their lowered cushion seats or there are couches that wrap around each table. Normally, they'd prefer you to eat with hands only, using their delicious (and unlimited) homemade bread to scoop up the food and flavors but (due to COVID?) they're providing silverware to everybody. We still tried to eat with our hands for the most part. This is a prixe-fixe menu ($44.50 per person), so all you'll need to pick is an entree. We all got something different so that we could eat family style, but they were all awesome, filled with flavors we'd never had before. I'd say I'd recommend a lamb dish if I went back though the B'stilla and Chabbakia were the highlight of the meal for me. Prior to bringing out the first course they will offer to wash your hands at the table and will do the same prior to dessert. Before the mint tea, they will also offer an orange blossom water to rinse your hands and an optional spray over your head to relax and complete the meal. Overall, I'd definitely go back. An awesome spot to bring family/friends or have a date night to try something new. They've been in Kailua 27 years now and is a true family owned/operated business. The servers were so kind and took the time to explain each dish and custom. One of the better dining experiences I've had in a very long time!

Must know ahead of time: this restaurant offers a fixed menu with your choice of main dish (lamb, hen, fish, couscous or veggies). It is a very intimate dining experience…not kid-friendly. The price ranges from $50-$60/person. BYOB. Corkage fee $3/person. I was here last night with my husband. We hadn’t been here in years, but the food quality was still superb. I ordered the Cornish hen with honey and prunes. It was moist and delicious. The salad course was so amazing just as I remembered it to be. I was a bit wary because there was a larger group with a couple of young children seated near us. One of the children was coughing loudly and often. He was an adorable kid, but this is definitely not the place to bring young active (and coughing) kids. The server asked the adults in the group to make sure that their kids are behaved since it is such a small restaurant. The server could not have been more polite in her demeanor. This group got extremely upset and left in a huff. I immediately knew this family was going to leave a negative review (which they did), so I came here to offer a different perspective. In my opinion, the server did everything right. She was gentle and kind in her approach. As a parent, I can understand being offended because those are my babies you are talking about. However, one must really consider the environment of the establishment that you bring your kids into. There was another couple there with an infant. The baby started crying and the father quickly took her outside to calm her down and then returned when she was settled. I was very satisfied with how the server handled the situation and that they wanted to ensure a pleasant environment for all the patrons.

Its been 5 years since I've moved here to East side and had not tried this place until now. Let's just say I asked the waiter for recommendation and he said he hated everything on the menu. I'm an optimistic person so I tried it anyways. We ordered the entire course meal. I'm going to be honest, not worth the $50 a person. It's a cute restaurant the food is presentable but the taste is not there. The waiter also made sure we knew how bad the restaurant was the moment we entered the restaurant. I appreciate his honesty. I hoped for better but he was right... Long story short don't eat here. ❤️

I ate here maybe 5yrs ago and it made such an impression that when I returned to Oahu last week, I had to see if it was still around. Their website is defunct with information that is mostly inaccurate. They offer a 5 course meal for about $40/ person. Portions are generous and I recommend that you call for a reservation. The menu is preset but allows you to choose the main entrée. Our group of 4 enjoyed and savored every dish. Couscous was a little dry and one friend said her lamb was dry as well. The chicken, however, was cooked perfectly. The service was quick, attentive and helpful. You forgo utensils for the bulk of the meal. They do wash your hands with a cool water dish and at the end you are sprinkled with orange blossom water to signal the Meal's end. It was truly a delight and lived up to my memory of my visit 5 years prior.

Finally got to try this place after many recommendations from friends. It is a pre fixed menu with vegetarian options. 55$ per person and you can take home what you don't finish....we were beyond stuffed and took some home. Emersive, delicious and so much fun!! I read the one and two star reviews saying the food is sub par.....these people are crazy or caught an off day!! Can't wait to go back and try a different entree.

Great food and great vibes! I had dinner here with a group of friends so I was able to try several different entrees (chicken, fish, and lamb). Every single course from beginning to end was delicious. The sweet chef came out to check on us and even agreed to take a photo with us! I can’t wait to come back again!

The place was completely empty, so I'm confused as to why the reservation was such a big deal. The host was also our server and was super friendly. The food comes in courses and is mostly traditional for the culture. We had the lamb and coffee. The lamb was juicy and seasoned well. The salad is broken down and still tasty. The coffee is strong and doesn't come w cream and sugar. I like that, but good to note. Also, that there may be nuts if you are a person that just dives in w o reading carefully. Group seating more than likely will result in having to sit on floor cushions.

I would go for the experience again. Lots of fun, great ambiance. Food was good. A little pricy but service was great. Just an fyi gratuity is added for parties of 6 or more. Which was not an issue because it was amazing

Awesome spot. First time for me but I'm definitely coming back. Our Waiter Elias was a perfect host and he explained what each course was and the history behind some of the dishes. He made me feel right at home. For sure one of my best experiences dining out in years.

I've been here a few times, I enjoy the unique comfy / cozy atmosphere and it's one of those places I bring friends to when they are visiting. The food is always good but if your not familiar, note that it's a long service. The staff is always excellent.

You gotta eat here!! My husband and I came here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We LOVED everything. He had lamb and I had the Cornish hen with lemon and olives as my main dish. I savored each bite. We left perfectly full and so happy! We will definitely be back for the next special occasion!

Such an amazing experience! Such a fun atmosphere and dining experience. The staff is amazing, super friendly and kind. And their food.... wowowow. It’s amazing. It’s a set 5 course meal for a set price. Everything was very flavorful, authentic, fresh and delicious. My husband and I came for Valentine’s Day and I’m so glad we did, I would do it again 100 times. Highly recommend.

My boyfriend and I came here almost a year after our trip to Morocco! The food is fantastic and you get sooooo much of it! The most authentic place we have found on island! There is nowhere else quite like it!

I truly think I've found my new favorite cuisine. Everything about this restaurant, from the ambience, to the extremely comfortable setting, and finally to the food was outstanding. I had never had an opportunity to eat Moroccan food (or for that matter, North African cuisine in general) but was very excited to try it. All of the food was delicious but the spotlight for me was the Cornish hen with preserved lemons and olives [main course]. The staff was very welcoming and significantly contributed to the wonderful dining experience that we had. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough, and I implore more people to expand their "culinary horizons" by trying this wonderful cuisine.

Can’t say enough in praise of this place. The atmosphere was lush and intimate. The food was amazing. The service was great! The lamb tangine was melting off the bone, it was so tender. We went for date night but I would happily recommend this place for family and friends. What a wonderful new experience this was! Just be aware that the menu is pre fix and they don’t serve alcohol but you can bring your own wine if you’d like.

"It's like a trap. Once you get in, it's too late to get out". Those were the words from my daughter as we were stuck in the middle of a nightmare experience. We have just finished a 2.5 hour dining experience at this place. And, we only got out in 2.5 hours because we asked the waiters to box up our dessert. Would have been a full 3 hours if we hadn't. First, let me say that the servers (bless their hearts as we say in the South) were doing there best. This is not on them. Second, I should have realized what was going on and bailed when I saw all but one table getting their waters and menus given to them almost at the same time. Third, this restaurant does not have a web site. So until you sit down and read the menu, you do not realize it is a fixe prix menu. The price for a "regular" option was $50. The price for a special was $56. Then, finally they mention "a charge will be placed on non-diners". Okay, my daughter did not like anything on the menu so she was going to take the charge and watch us eat. When we said we would take the non-eating charge the waiter said, "Oh no. EVERYONE has to order" - mean everyone who is sitting at the table has to order something off the fixe prix menu. My daughter offered to go sit in the car in the parking lot, but...we can't do that to her. So, we paid $50 for the privilege to have her sit next to us for a meal where the only thing she could eat was the couscous on the veggie plate (main course). It was at the 1:50 mark where we still hadn't received our main course that we planned our escape and asked for the dessert to go. And as mentioned earlier, EVERYONE was getting their foods (slowly) at the same time. This is a matter of them not staggering the seating. But, then again there was no hostess, just two waiters. End the end, the two lamb dishes were AMAZING and the one seafood special was excellent. The one chicken dish was dry. As admiral Ackbar said, "It's a TRAP!"

Terribly slow and mediocre. It took them 2.5 hours to serve all 5 courses. We came in hungry and left the place tired and unsatisfied. Most dishes were okay, nothing special. The only exception was the Moroccan salad, which saved the meal from being a total disaster.

Enjoyed a lovely prefixe menu for 2. Each person picks an entree. Meal comes with lentil soup, bread, appetizer platter to share, 2 entrees, dessert and tea. In between entrees the waitress offers a hand washing station, orange blossom extract and a slightly sweetened, delicious hot green tea

This was my second visit to Casablanca. Both times, my friends and I got the prix fixed menu. All dishes are consistently well made and very tasty, and the presentation is beautiful. Use of utensils is optional, and eating without utensils is a fun experience. The meal starts with everyone washing their hands at the table with warm water that is poured by the server. The meal ends with dessert that is served with sweet mint tea, a Moroccan staple. The dining area is comfortable and relaxed with beautiful Moroccan furniture and rugs. The staff are welcoming, accommodating and attentive. Casablanca is great place to enjoy a delicious meal with friends and family. A true gem on the windward side. There are only a few parking spots in front of the restaurant but there is street parking available.

Great ambiance! Five courses meal was great ending in a relaxing mint tea! Only one girl doing all the service but she had it going on! Moving back and forth between 5 tables without missing a beat! Would definitely recommend!

I'm not sure what caused the low reviews because our experience was wonderful. Obviously, this is likely not a place you would every week since it's at least $55 per person, but it's definitely worth a trip for a date or special occasion. I've never been to Morocco, so I can't say authentic it is, but it's great Mediterranean food. Although everything was good, my favorite was the B'stilla (Pastilla), which was incredibly unique and done well. It's also a really neat ambiance and the service was perfect. Overall, if you're looking for something different, this is an excellent choice.

  • 3/5 Jon P. 2 years ago on Google
Not sure if it's the novelty of the place that gets the good reviews, but it's not the food. It's not terrible, but it's strip mall quality at fine dining prices. Marginal cuts of meat, a weird lack of awareness of customer needs (a knife for a large cut of tough meat, or serving a sticky, flaky dessert with no utensils), and stale bread... Definitely a disappointment.

One of the best restaurants I've been to in a long time. They had lamb the first time I went but the 2nd time they did not so I was forced to try the salmon and to my surprise I enjoyed nit just as much. Every round was better than the last, it was just really good flavors, good service and just the right amount of portions. Definitely a must try and for me Definitely going back for a 3rd.

Menu is prix fixe and gives you an amazing 5 course Moroccan dinner experience including traditional hand washing and sprinkling of refreshing orange water. All the entrees we ordered were delicious and portions were generous. It is BYOB. Great deal if you are looking for something exotic, yet comforting.

  • 5/5 M. D. 10 months ago on Google
Fantastic in all regards. Coziest possible place to bring a date. Fixed menu of several courses, you choose the main course. Lots of lamb options. Lamb brochettes and the rack of lamb with couscous were excellent. Bring your own wine. Mint tea and dessert come at the end. We were taken care of by several wonderful ladies. Many of the tables have floor cushion seating. We sat on a soft couch at a corner table and loved every aspect from the food to the service to the decor. The ceiling is made to look as though you're sitting in a large tent and the walls are covered with rugs except where the turquoise painted plaster and old carved wooden trim is exposed. All in all very fun and as another reviewer said, "immersive".

Absolutely exquisite food. The best I've had I'm such a long time. Forgive me for being romantic, but you can certainly taste the love that goes into the food. If I had the pockets for it, I'd come here once a week. Absolutely scrumptious!

Always great to eat here. Just make sure you budget enough time to eat. At least 90 minutes from seating. Also dress comfortably for some sit on cushions near the floor. Also you are expected to eat with your hands, but they do provide utensils for those who refuse. Thos is also an all inclusive eating arrangement. You choose your entree, also it is BYOB with a corkage fee.

My husband and I went for date night. Upon walking in we felt as if we transported to Morocco. The decor, ambiance, and the fragrant food scents coming from the kitchen were so welcoming. The waitstaff were attentive and kind. The food was delicious - I highly recommend the lamb! There multi-course menu is a lot of food so go hungry. We will be back most definitely :)

So far my favorite restaurant on the island. There are not that many Moroccan restaurants on the mainland, let alone Hawaii. So I was surprised to have found this authentic Moroccan restaurant. It indeed made me reminisce about my trip to Morocco. This restaurant is not that big and is only opened for a few hours so reservation is strongly recommended. I believe there are only 2-3 people working so they may be too busy to answer your call. Just call again it’s worth it. This place mainly serves 5-course prix fixe meals at a price of $40. The food was great we enjoyed every single dish. The dinner was served over the course 1.5 to 2 hours but we were happy to stay even longer because of the cozy environment and the lovely decor.

  • 5/5 Charlie F. 4 years ago on Google
Great experience! I would recommend calling for a reservation because this place gets busy. You can call at 3pm to start making reservations for that night. The menu is fixed price and you get 5 courses. I went with four people and we all left stuffed. The appetizers are made to fit your table size. The food and the experience is 5 stars by itself. Highly recommended for a fun night out. It is BYOB and they charge an uncorking fee.

  • 5/5 Erin C. 4 years ago on Google

Ambience, food, service is great. But all 5 courses are too heavy. And dessert is too sugary and oily and unhealthy. Mezze and main are enough for adult. Wish they have choice a la carte
