This restaurant/bar is a unique place within the typical bars of Honolulu. Decided to eat outside on the patio which had a cool breeze and live jazz music. Everyday there are some sort of happy hour specials available. Taco Tuesday is $3 tacos, and $9 margaritas. Margarita flavors include sweet or less sweet flavors depending on your preferences. Will return for the tasty shrimp, steak and chicken tacos. Edited review because service level has plummeted drastically. As a weekly regular here, I couldn’t believe how terrible service was. Witnessed many servers chatting in the corner with no regard for customers. Waited 15+ minutes for a waitress after being seated, waited 15+ minutes for her to return after bringing checks. Also had to wait a long time between drinks. I don’t know what has suddenly happened to work play service levels, but not impressed at all.

Still a hidden gem to just relax with friends or get some work done during the day. Live music weekly but also it’s Wine Down Wednesdays on select wines. You could really have a great time on hump day. Parking can be tight so there may be a little walk but it’s worth it. They have a full bar and the bartender can make you any specialty drink you desire.

I happened upon this place when a client invited me to have a Pau Hana meeting there. I absolutely loved it! Lots of private rooms as well as one main room where there is a stage for nightly live music. Rare to find live music 7 days a week anymore and some nights, maybe all, ( you would have to check) they even have more than one act! My pictures were not great to I borrowed these form Facebook. The food is good, the drinks are better and the staff is the best there are. The owner Phillip outdid himself with this vision. I almost forgot there is an amazing outdoor patio as well! To recap, Private Rooms, Main Lounge, Live Music Nightly, an Outdoor Patio, Good food, great drinks, awesome staff......what more can you ask for? A must do for anyone hip enough to know where it is and smart enough to head over. Hope to see you there!

We came for our Valentine's reservation and was seated at a dirty table up the stairs. We sat for 15 minutes, no one spoke to us, or stopped at our table so we decided to leave. One of the waitresses glared at us as we walked out. The wait staff were casually talking with each other while the host seemed to be the only person working.

Went here on their Tuesday Cigar Break. Excellent time but don't sit too close to the music or you can't hear your friends. Unlimited coke and whiskey refills for Cigar Break night

Cool spot. Really nice seating area outside. It's pretty cool to see the band perform inside and have it displayed on tvs outside.

Hostess sat folks way too close given the current restrictions. I was by myself and the young hostess sat a party of 3 in the chairs directly next to me. I couldn't get out of there fast enough

Great vibe, food, and drinks.

Really cool work or play spot (hence the name) featuring great cocktails and good food, all at very good prices. People come in the mornings to work on their laptops and/or have meetings in one of the private rooms. People come in the afternoons and evenings for the drinks and live entertainment. So cool!

Great spot to hang out with a group of friends. Different nights have different themes from DJ to karaoke. They have an awesome outdoor section that allows people to smoke cigars (you can buy some there or bring your own). You can also go inside where they have some smaller rooms if you want more privacy.

Favorite bar in Kaka’ako hands down. Always an great vibe due to their rotation of live music, personable bartenders, and relaxed atmosphere. Cocktails are quality & always a good time.

Party or 10. 3 people never received their food and were told that they could not place orders again, after waiting 30min, due to the place being understaffed. The ambiance was great! We were celebrating a birthday. Taco Tuesday.

A fun bar with live music. Went at Christmastime and they had themed mugs and signature cocktails. One was called the Rudolph and the other, the Santa. Ordered the pulled pork nachos to go along with our drinks and they were fantastic!!!!

Great waitstaff with wonderful attitudes.

Most staff were so nice, but while at the bar we encountered a disrespectful waitress and the way she chose to tell us to move out of her way compared to the blond woman in her way significantly differed, so kind to them but for whatever reason was very rude to me and my friend. The rest of the staff like the hostess was kind and welcoming but we definitely left after an encounter where we were bluntly treated differently and unjustly.

Fun spot to hang out. Live music never disappoints. Good service and good drinks. Only parking is a little tight, so you might have to walk a block or two… but hey, you’re not supposed to drink and drive anyways!

The food was delicious. Our bartender was attentive, fun and a total hottie! The live music was great. It's a very "South Beach " vibe kinda place. I loved it.

We enjoy coming here for the live music, the tapas and the drinks. Staff are super friendly. Come by if you're in the area or even if you're not in the area and are just looking for a good place to lounge at. The ambience is super chill.

I wouldn’t buy the ceviche. Save the money. The drinks were good and the place seemed like a cool vibe, the food I saw didn’t look that great tho.

This is a lovely hidden gem in Kaka'ako. Indoor and outdoor seating. They serve craft coffee and cocktails that are absolutely delicious! Along with the beautiful open bar area, there are 4 different private rooms, each with a different theme, that can be reserved. Parking available right in front, along the street, or in the public parking across the street. This is definitely a place everyone will want to check out!

Walking around downtown and walked in here completely blind off the street for curiosity's sake. Cool spot especially early in the day. Best cocktails I've ever had

We came on New Years Eve it was busy but the service was quick and good! We ordered 3 different types of tacos to share and they were all good. I’d say the birria tacos were the best (although they were pork instead of beef or goat). Birria was the best then pork then shrimp last (probably wouldn’t get shrimp again they were decent). Cool setup inside and out and the bad was good as well! We’re coming back today and looking forward to it!

Friends and I have visited Workplay on several occasions and was very impressed with the Staff, Food, Cocktails, Live Music, Atmosphere and Free Parking. A huge plus is Cigar Smoking is allowed in the outside seating area. We’ve been treated very well by Hostess/Server Shay and Server Keahi. The entire Staff are extremely friendly and courteous making sure your wants and needs are taken care of. My friends and I found a new place to hangout in the middle of Kakaako. I will highly recommend Workplay to anyone I know. Mahalo to the Workplay Ohana 🤙

Wow! My first time there and I was pumped! Date night! When we got there it was so sad! They seemed overwhelmed and unenthusiastic. Wait staff and hostess were snippy with each other. I counted two waiters inside and two outside as well as one hostess. Parking is tough (nearly impossible) at night in the area. Serving Staff standing around talking to each other, leaning on the bar and no service. We didn’t get water or greeted so we left even though we were hungry. I couldn’t imagine the food after witnessing the customer service. Others looked hungry and no one was eating. No one seemed to notice when we left unfed. Shame on them.

Great goto place for me and my friends! Love the atmosphere and vibes especially the nights when my favorite bartender Tessa is working. She makes us feel like everything is back to normal lol. Definitely the reason I can't shut up to my friends about this place. Her and the rest of the staff make it worthwhile to come out during these trying times.

I love this place. Phillip and the staff are remarkable. Natalie and Makalea are superb as well always attentive and accommodate us.

I’ve never been to a restaurant for where they took money off your card before you even got your food. I was charged twice and now i have to wait for the money they originally took off my card when they could of just waited until i was done. Won’t be paying with card here ever..

Food is so incredibly interesting and delicious you can't go wrong with eating here.

The menu was at first 'basic', however the food was amazing. We had the dip trio, each dip was impressive. The dinner special, pork birria, was unbelievable! We will definitely be back for the live music. And the bartender was a blast!

Great atmosphere and music. Here for friend's birthday, who played a gig. The Old Fashioned was nice & strong without overpowering the orange, and the quesadilla really hit the spot for me.

A friend invited me here recently and all I can say is WOW, they did a great job with this place. From the times I have been here I can say that I really enjoy the spirits menu! I was very impressed to see what they were pouring. They have a great range of whiskeys, tequila and others. The food is also top notch. I have had the tacos, quesadillas and the chips and salsa. Not your average bar food, this stuff is really tasty and reasonably priced.
