Walked in without any expectations, and the food and service is wonderful We got taken care immediately, placed order and the food is served within 15min Only one lady, super nice and friendly, taking care the whole front of house. So when we finished our food and ready for ordering desserts 🍨, we waited around 5min to make our order. But how can u blame her, it was busy lunch time and the house was packed We got 3 mains, all are amazing. Even the salsa was fresh and tangy, probably the best one we had in the last 5 years. Love their refried beans , I would actually revisit JUST FOR THE BEANS Make sure u save some space for dessert and get the sopapilla U wont regret it

Got dinner on 18 Sep and due COVID was take out only. This was our first time trying Don Goyo's. I had the shreaded steak enchiladas and the Senorita had the shreaded chicken relleno plus chips and salsa. First impression was "Dang, did they just say it will be ready in 5 minutes?" Upon getting the order home, we were stuck by contrasts. My impression was the salsa for the chips and salsa had a fair amount of chili powder flavor in the salsa and the chips were a bit soft/stale. And then we ate the rice and our impression was "fabulous". Great flavor, color and texture. First bite of the chicken relleno was met with "average", but with each bite it was more pleasing and became "good". Apparently, the sour cream made the dish and was a key element. For me, the enchiladas were ok, and the red sauce did add favorably to the experience but I was confused by a small amount of strange pico de gallo on the side that had lettuce in it. All in all, I think we will repeat, but I would really like to repeat once COVID is over. UPDATED REVIEW So, we have ordered from here now 3 times since the original review and tried them again 29 NOV.. I have updated the review from 3 stars to 4 based on a couple of things. First off, there seems to be help now on the front end. Young lady was very friendly and pleasant. This is an improvement on some of my other visits when it was just one lady operating the cash box, answering the phone, bringing out orders and giving drink refills. Second reason is the consistency. The good things remain good. Shredded Chicken Chili relleno was the exact same as was the shredded beef and shredded chicken enchiladas. However, one bad thing remains. The Salsa still remains flat and devoid of any tangible flavor notes. There are several reviewers that say it is the best salsa they have ever had and I can only assume they have only had Old El Paso home taco kits. There is no hint of any flavor profile other than a mild chili powder that just leaves you wanting something more.

¡Qué rica comida! 😋😋😋 YUM-ONO‼️😁 What a wonderful place. Wonderful ladies - kind and attentive service 👍🏾❤️👍🏾 Simply showed our VCs (Vaccination cards) and were seated 💗 Enjoyed the warm-relaxed ambience. Was surprised to discover that they had a bar --- for all my happy hour people 😉 JFYI - The first serving of salsa with a basket of homemade tortilla chips is FREE  😉😋 For dinner we ordered the Super Burrito and Burrito Lengua which each came with rice and beans and pico de gallo 😋 We also tried their side order of Guacamole which comes with a basket of tortilla chips...,So, Onolicious!!!😋 We washed it all down with a refreshing tall glass of Horchata and a generous bowl of sweet Sopapilla 😋💗 Next visit I'd start with dessert first and get some Menudo which is served Only on Sundays 😉😁 Happy Halloween 🎃

We usually eat at El Mariachi. But they are closed on Wednesday. First as you can see in photos the tacos has a lot of onions. The shrimp ceviche was tasty but small portion. And small burrito. Also the person who took my order was rude. I don't think I will eat here again. When they first opened at the other location, food was good. And service was better.

THE WORST SERVICE EVER!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!! After we were seated, it took 30 minutes to get anyone to even look at our table, let alone take our order. Then it was a 40 minute wait for food that took us 15 minutes to eat. No napkins provided until the check was already processed, waters took 30 minutes and two asks to be provided, and our initial waiter couldn't even handle taking more than one tables order at a time so she had to pass us off to a colleague to handle our table. $0 tip and no regrets.

First time here, ordered Togo… the portion sizes are horrendous and the photo will speak for itself. I ordered: *Horchata- 8/10 (a lot of my cinnamon sank to the bottom so it’s worth a few stirs) *Chips and Salsa- 6/10 (bland salsa and if you order Togo, they charge you $6, otherwise it’s free if you dine in…I don’t understand) *Carne Asada with shrimp- 7/10 (just like everyone else says, it is marinated very well and is tasty but I only got 3 measly little shrimps and everything else was absolutely bland) Needless to say, I won’t be going back.

Being Hispanic myself I thought this would be at least ok! Boy was I wrong See below pictures the rolled tacos were over cooked and the little meat in them were burnt, the rice had to much cumin and was crunchy and per previous post that was one of the smallest burritos I’ve ever had finally the BEANS! Bad all around.

Stopped in for the first time this past Sunday. Ordered two barbacoa taco plates and a side of guacamole. The staff was friendly. Order took 40 minutes. They had a large catering order and it set them behind. They gave me a chips and salsa for the wait. I know we live in Hawaii, but the portions were just too small for the price. The food was just okay, not seasoned enough.

Me and family have been customers here on multiple occasions and at both the old and new location. Good food but here but there is room for improvement. I mean this in the most constructive way possible. 1. Portions are too small given the price point. 2. Lighting inside the new location is TOO BRIGHT especially in the evenings, felt like a bug in a zap light (overstimulating) 3. Seating arrangement is awkward and too crowded, we were disturbed constantly from servers and other customers squeezing by the overly packed seating arrangement. 4. We were a group of 4. After being seated, a larger group was seated adjacent from us 5min later. The same server waited both tables and somehow, they received drinks and chips before we did: be consistent and profesional with service and make guests feel valued. Thank you

Always consistent excellent food. I had the carne asada thos time also realky love their shrimp ceviche and chile relleno. Service is good and very friendly. If eating in, soft drink refills for large soda is free. Their salsa is fresh mild and delicious. Love to add it to just about everything on the menu.

Great Mexican food. Probably the best salsa I've ever had. Wife got cheese enchiladas, REALLY good. I had enchiladas and a quuesadilla, delicious!! Really liked their fried rice was very tasty too! Would recommend!!

Amazing food and service. The homemade salsa is amazing. We had the guacamole which was good. I had cheese enchiladas which were great. My husband had chicken enchiladas and carnita quesadillas which he enjoyed as well. Would come back for sure if we could!

Being a picky eater I have struggled to find food comparable to the mainland that I enjoyed on my vacation. Don goyos was excellent and exactly what I had expected, with fast and friendly service I would recommend to anyone that likes Mexican food!

Pretty good Mexican food, nothing outstanding but gets the job done. My husband got the fajita burrito and liked it but wasn’t blown away. I got the cancun fish and thought it was great. It was fresh and flavorful and light. Their rice is good and isn’t dry. Prices are decent.

I ate here today. It is the real deal. Beef enchiladas were great. They also have barbacoa, tamales, menudo, ceviche, flautas, tostadas, and chiles rellenos. Recommend this place.

We had the Don Goyos tacos with grilled and shredded chicken respectively. Unbelievably good. So many flavors like it was out of a MasterChef show.

The Mexican food was fantastic and I'm from Tucson, AZ. When I said make it spicy, they didn't wimp out and added habañero sauce to my "Super Burrito" which is appropriately huge. However we did have a negative. When spending $1 extra for chorizo in our cheese, I expect more than grease in it. It was tasty, but there was only about 2¢ worth of chorizo in it, hence the 4-Stars.

Food was hot and fresh. Vegetables in the fajita plate were caramelized perfectly and meat was tender. Friendly service but can get slow as the place fills up.

This is my first google review. Placed my order over the phone at 7:00 pm walked into to pick up at 7:20 when they asked to return. Checked in and gave my name to be informed that our food is still not ready. Waited another 20 minutes to find out they never put our order in but instead lost it. Now we gotta place our order again at 7:45 pm. Then we waited another 40 minutes to receive our order. Now I gotta try and forget this moment for me to return. I wish I just drove to El Mariachi in Kaneohe.

My experience here was just okay. The service was very fast, which is a plus. But, the burrito was bland. I expected a sauce or maybe more fillings, but it was just chicken and cheese which tasted fine but was just a letdown by itself. The rice and beans are pretty good, but their portions were stingy. They also didn't have their liquor license when we went which was a major letdown, so I might reevaluate when I can actually sample their margaritas.

Possibly the best Mexican food I have ever had. Homemade to order...flavors and spices were perfect. Taquitos hand rolled with a ton of tender fillings. Chunky, fresh guacamole and salsa. Cheese dip served in a sizzling black iron skillet. Just can't say enough good things!

This place has very delicious Mexican food we love the flavors. they have a wide selection of amazing food and also the seafood selection tastes good too. We got the nachos we got the super burrito we got the tacos. Next time we go we're going to get the flautas. The staff is very friendly. They make you feel welcome and at home. The place is very clean it looks like a brand new place. But most importantly the food is so delicious thank you again.

Incredible food. I had the Chimichanga filled with steak and a Guava Jarrito to drink. The Chimichanga was the perfect serving size and seasoned perfectly. Just enough spice to taste without being over powering. The steak used was high quality meat that was tender and very easy to chew! One of the best Mexican restaurant’s I have eaten in in years. Definitely worth a visit.

1 woman taking orders, serving the food, taking payments. She was pretty quick for being on her own, on a Saturday afternoon, with a full restaurant. Food was ok. Can't expect great Mexican food in Hawaii. 😉

Very small place in a stop mall, but with great food! If you're in the mood for something different, try the lengua burrito. It was a bit on the small side (don't expect a Homewrecker size burrito from Moe's), but the flavor was great! We also started off with the taquitos that were freshly prepared and had a great crunch to them. My wife had the pork chille rellenos that also had really great flavor. Oh, and added bonus - they make their own horchata! The service was very friendly as well. The place is really small, so limit the size of your group if you can.

Great place for your Mexican food cravings. I ordered Cancun fish. The fish was grilled perfectly with right amount of seasoning and I really like the papaya avocado salad that came with it.

By far THE BEST MEXICAN food in Hawaii!! The pork carnitas are fabulous. We live on the other side of the island but drive over to Kaneohe when we need some great Mexican food. So worth the drive! Yum!! 😋

First time here.. Reasonable food. Very friendly staff. I would give it 4 or 5 stars (4 for food, 5 for friendly well intended staff) but who ever manages this place clearly has not been Into the resturant since covid hit. (1 star for poor managment) We ordered via phone and showed up 20 min after being told it will be 15-20 min. People were waiting outside for their pick up because they were not sure where to go as the space tables were crammed inside. No body knew what to do or where to wait and the staff (who ment well) gave no guidlines. Once it was our turn to go inside things were still very confusing and it was still unclear where to stand. Other people behind us just started flooding in cramming the place and some customers even started being quit rude due to all the confusion. One customer behind us even asked us to move over next to where someone was already standing while we were talking to the cashier. The manager needs to design a system for the customers and explain it to them and train their staff on it.

We were driving around the island when we saw this restaurant pop up on the map and decided to try it. We were not disappointed. The shredded chicken mini quesadilla and shredded beef taquitos were great. As was the garlic shrimp and barbacoa. If you are in the area, I highly recommend stopping in for a margarita and dinner.

Best mexican food I've had down here on the islands & the prices weren't ridiculous like some of these other restaurants that are nowhere near as good. This place makes me really miss texas & new mexico! I wish I lived closer cause I bet I'd be here A LOT!!
