This place is so so great!! Such a friendly, family owned spot with hearty, authentic Hawaiian food. I've been here a week and this is the first spot I can say I ate till I couldn't eat any more and felt like I was getting the real deal 😍 the owner walked is through the menu and explained each dish and the best combinations. Yummm !!!

You can't go wrong here. Everything is so homemade, authentic and delicious. Laulau, kalua pig, lomi-lomi salmon, but the best of all dishes we tried Squid Luau!!!! So good!!! Very casual restaurant with amazing friendly service. Order a plate and you get lomi salmon, haupia and two scoops of rice or poi.

Great authentic Hawaiian food! Chill local vibe. Great server, she brought us samples of everything! Lau Lau and grilled pork were top notch! Mahalo

I recommend this place for a good variety of flavor & authentic food! Especially recommend trying the squid lu’au. Got the squid and crispy pork belly combo. Both were tasty, and got a generous portion of each alongside the poi, Lomi salmon, and haupia. Owner was friendly and very welcoming. Also tried the kalua pork which was a winner too.

We were tourists looking for some authentic Hawaiian cuisine. The place is a gem and a literal hole in the wall, with lots of locals eating there. The staff was very friendly and told us about every dish and even warned us about what we might not like since we aren't locals with a local palette. The food was very good and seemed authentic, while still being affordable. She was indeed correct that our tourist palette might not like the Poi, but that's ok.

Had such a great experience at this restaurant not only is the food mind blowing and so wholesome to eat. The owner and his sister the head chef were the kindest people. Incredible stories to tell and tons of Hawaiian history, about land and food. As we happened to be the last customers of the night they let us sample every dish. An unforgettable time. HIGHLY recommend.

I looked on Yelp for authentic Hawaiian food and O’ahu Grill came up. I called and made a reservation right away for that night. The lady who took my reservation was so nice and pleasant. When we got to the restaurant, our table was waiting for us. Our server was very kind and made good recommendations for us. My baby was a little fussy so they were so kind to put our food on hold, till I was able to nurse my baby to sleep. My husband went with the crispy fried pork and smoked pork combo plate, where as I chose the Lau Lau and Squid Lu’au combo plate. Both our dinners came with Lomi Salmon and Haupia. We both absolutely enjoyed our dinners, the flavor was on point and food was packed with flavor, so very delicious. My husband who is not too keen on trying new foods, ended up loving my Squid Lu’au so much hehe. We got the Haupia and Kona coffee ice cream, both were so tasty. A nice gentleman even took his time to come and check on us and see how we were doing. We had such a fabulous and memorable dinner here. The service was exceptional. It was such a wonderful way to start our first dinner in Hawaii this trip. We will definitely come back next time we are in Honolulu.

Food was great! Staff was friendly and helpful. Menu had multiple choices. Meals had very interesting side dishes. The Garlic Shrimp was one of the best I had in Oahu (second best was Shrimp Shack). Also tried the squid dish and very much similar to Laing (Filipino food) with coconut milk except for the use of squid which was very delicious as well. Parking is easy. Good place to go after going to Diamond Head!

Came here for traditional Hawaiian food. Each dish was quite delicious. Our order were 3 choice plate (Squid Luau, Pipikaula, Crispy Fried Pork), LauLau Mini and Rice. Customer service was also good. I went there during the daytime on Saturday, but it was good that it was empty during the daytime, but the parking lot was very crowded.

If you want great Hawaiian food and an awesome service, check this place out! Love the squid luau [nice size chunks of squid] and it comes with two scoop rice lomi salmon and haupia. Hubby had the Thursday special: Chicken Papaya with mac salad and rice!

Amazing food and place. This is the most homemade Hawaiian food I’ve ever had. You can’t go wrong with anything. I had the kalua pork and smoked meat pork were AMAZING. So much flavor wow. We also got the squid lu’au which was great as well. Honestly everything here, even the coconut jelly and the rice was good. This seems like a mom and shop place so only one server - be patient. Highly recommend to anyone looking for local Hawaiian food 10/10

Traditional Hawaiian food is always a bit pricy but the poi here was absolutely delicious and all the food very 'ono. It's a great way to try several different dishes. Especially loved the squid luau and the triple tomato stew - both so flavorful!

This small mom & pop restaurant has some ono food! Their laulau is exactly how I like it! Plenty meat & NO butterfish! 😀And their squid luau has nice big chunks of squid. It was so good, I had to order more to take home for later. Lol We went for lunch on a Saturday & had no problem getting a table. The parking lot was super crazy tho.

Honestly the food was great, delicious and well put together but I ordered a 3 entree combination plate and wouldve thought it would come with some poi, I would think that it’s key for a Hawaiian combination to have a traditional side as such to compliment the flavors of the food but I had rice which I understand is almost the same but to one Hawaiian it’s not the same. Not really a whole lot of information is given about what comes in the plate so I had no idea what to expect but I was definitely expecting it to have some poi in there 😢 love the food just had a bad experience.

A wonderful staff of generous and kind individuals! The food was amazing! An overall amazing experience! They made it a point to “make us feel like we were at our aunts house”!

  • 5/5 Kim S. 2 years ago on Google
Good authentic Hawaiian food. It was a great place to try all of the traditional Hawaiian foods to poi, squid luau and lomi salmon and they give you a small piece of haupia as a dessert! The squid luau was the standout, the blended leaves and squid worked so well together and was really blown away. Overall the food was good, but will say it was definitely salty and would recommend getting rice to compliment the savoriness of the side dishes.

This place may be Oahu’s best kept secret. The food was delicious, comforting, and clearly made with love, not to mention incredibly reasonably priced. The kalua pig in particular is worth a shout out, it beats any pulled pork I’ve had from mainland bbq joints. The servers were all super friendly and welcoming. Can’t rate this place highly enough, I feel the secret will soon be out so make sure to go now before everyone is fighting for a table!

This was a wonderful Hawaiian restaurant. The food is authentic Hawaiian flavor. My husband has been to a luau and said the food he received there was very similar to what we had here today, except that at Oahu Grill there was even more variety. The staff were hospitable and truly kind. They graciously let us sample two items on the menu. We ordered one, and it was my son's favorite.

This is a really good place if you want to try authentic Hawaiian food! Service is really friendly too! I loved the coconut custard but I am not a fan of poi. The poi had a tang to it which I was not a fan of. The salmon salad had more tomato than salmon but the salmon flavor is so strong. The meat was good but in my opinion the coconut custard tasted better than the main dishes.

Got the garlic shrimp and pork lau lau and WOW this did not disappoint, flavors were on point!! The owner is so sweet and gives amazing local recs of things to do in Oahu. Only sad part is that they no longer have a dine in area but they are looking for waiters if you’re in the market for a job!

Great family owned restaurant with amazing food! The family could not have been nicer and the food was delicious. We were visiting and never had traditional Hawaiian food before so wanted to go to a local spot away from the touristy area. We were so glad we found this place online and will always return if we come back. If you are on Oahu, this place is an absolute place to eat! 5 stars!!

Found this place on a long drive. Had the chilly cheese steak with Cajun fries. Food was good! I expected a lot less being that it's in the middle of nowhere.

  • 5/5 Larisa P. 3 years ago on Google
Amazing experience! They asked if we'd ever had Hawaiian food, and when we said no, brought out small samples of nearly all the dishes for us to try before we ordered. After bringing us our food, they brought us two more dishes on the house to try. Everything we ate was so flavorful and carefully made. Can't recommend enough.

If you have never had Hawaiian food before, come here and try it. I am an extremely picky eater, but I tried things I would never have before. The staff is incredibly friendly and the food is amazing. The Kalua pork and chicken long rice were phenomenal, as was the beef stew and smoked meat. I absolutely recommend eating here.

  • 3/5 Derrick B. 3 years ago on Google
My family and I were unimpressed. The poi was slightly sour, the rice was dry, and the chicken and rice soup was bland. The kaula pig was good. The staff was very friendly.

Located on 11th Avenue and Waialae, across the street from Kaimuki Park. This is a wonderful new Hawaiian food restaurant! Authentic tasting and featuring an excellent selection of popular dishes: such as Squid luau, tripe stew, kahlua pig, lau lau. I highly recommended this place.

Amazing! The food and the service were both top notch. The food is delicious and very reasonably priced. Our server and the other man working really went above and beyond to explain foods, and even gave us a sample before we ordered! They were so sweet and really made us feel welcome. Everything was tasty, but I recommend the laulau and the squid stew. So yummy!!

First picture shows two tiny boxes of soup that cost me $20, and tasted like ocean water, like they cooked it over and over - extremely salty. I didn’t see any solo meal price on the menu over $20, that girl told me that it is a Sunday special. And second picture shows the another tiny container of soup that cost me $10 for a lot of noodles with pieces of chicken meat. Thank God that at least this soup was eatable.
