Places like this on the island are far and few between. We came here on a whim after hanging out at Lanikai beach. I was very impressed by this place! They had a very simple menu and they add a ton of meat to the burrito.. And having beer for sale there was only a plus. I'll be back!

Such an amazing experience from the moment we walked in. Staff went over the top to accommodate our needs and assist to make sure we got the best possible burrito imaginable! The hospitaility from the top down (owner) to the bartender was top notch. Drove past and decided to give it a shot - so glad we did. The grilled veggie burrito (wet) plate will keep us coming back every time. Bring an appetite! Come on Tuesday for $2 tacos $5 margs and great live music 🤙🏽

Taco Tuesday with live music is so fun. Walked into town tonight to eat with my family. Enjoyed the kalua pig nachos and chicken burrito shared with husband. Perfect portions! My kids loved their keiki quesadillas. We had takeout lots over the past couple years and never been disappointed.

Been twice now...will be a regular when we move closer to the area. You MUST get the burrito WET!!!!! It's the reason we go....along with the fact it's the size of your head...and the can't beat price, chill vibe, amazing service, delicious margaritas and welcomingly warm staff. Shane behind the bar is phenomenal, and the man that has been behind the counter both times is quick, efficient, friendly and informative. Excited to try the enchiladas next!

We went for the first time and it was so good! We ordered a chicken burrito and chicken enchiladas. The flavors were amazing, chicken was juicy, the cilantro lime rice was fresh, and the green salsa on the enchiladas was rich and tasty. Will definitely be going back.

The wet burrito is the best choice you can make here. It is a burrito covered in melted cheese and green salsa. 10/10 for this dish alone. I would give this place a higher rating if you got slightly more food and there were more menu options.

Judging from California standards, this is the best breakfast burrito I could find on the island. I go every weekend now to get my fix. The contents are generous and well-mixed; one bomber will keep you full past lunch. Strongly recommended.

This place is amazing. We made a quick pitstop here to take togo. We got a vegetarian burrito bowl and a chicken burrito bowl. Both were delicious. The owners of the place were very friendly and welcoming too. They also followed covid-19 safety protocol.

Best burrito place in town, the employees are very helpful and friendly. Worth the drive to come here! Would rate 6 out of 5 stars.

My husband and I walked by this place on our first day on Oahu and it smelt amazing! We decided last minute to head back that way on our last day and stopped in for some lunch and it did not disappoint. Best burrito my husband has had in a long time! Very friendly staff, fast service, good choices. So glad we came back!

Stopped by with some family and all ordered a variety of burrito bowls. Every one of us loved them. Hopped over next door to enjoy a brew with our meal. Definitely coming back here again.

Bowles Burritos is a simple small little restaurant with probably in our local opinion THE BEST BURRITOS on the island! They're nestled in cute and quaint Kailua Town located on the southeast side of Oahu. If you're on that side if the island, give them a try! Delicious!!

The flavor on the kalua pig was *chefs kiss amazing. My friend and I both got burritos and they were delicious. Workers were also very kind and quick. Will be coming back!

I visited when I was having trouble finding authentic Mexican food in Hawaii. This is authentic Mexican food and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I will be returning for sure!

  • 5/5 William P. 1 year ago on Google
Amazing food. Super cool staff was very friendly and helpful explaining the menu and ordering process, which made it very easy to order. Huge portions. Can get a little pricey if you start adding extras, but the menu is very transparent with the additional costs, and again the top notch quality and flavor of the food makes it worth every penny. Great music, beach-bar vibes, open concept between bar side and restaurant side, big TVs to watch surfing and other sports, etc... Got the single stack nachos with carne asada and their pork verde "wet burrito" (burrito served on a plate with melted cheese and salsa verde on top), and both were excellent. Make sure to try their creamy cilantro dressing (pictured on the nachos) - they'll let you sample it on a tortilla chip. 👌🤙

Super friendly and family owned. Street parking and parking lot in the back . Two sides, one side for food and the other side for bar drinks. 🍸 Great specials for taco Tuesday 🌮. They really pack in a lot with kulua pork or chicken , rice, beans and cold trimmings. I had the pork tacos 2 dollars each and a margarita for 5 dollars. A total of 7 dollars is the cheapest I've ever had in hawaii. A super discount! I'll definitely come back! I had a margarita with li hing rim on the rocks for 5 bucks and fresh lime juice! No ka oi! Super friendly staff!

Potentially my new favorite restaurant on the island. Discovered Bowles Burritos near the end of my trip, and was sad to only be able to return to it once. Had a Pork Verde Burritos, and OBVIOUSLY "made it wet", which smothers it with cheese and delicious salsa, before taking a trip in the oven. Absolutely phenomenal. My wife had a vegetarian quesadilla and loved it as well. Can't wait to go back.

The service was good, they were quick and friendly. I brought my friend to eat here, we both took our first bite at the same time and looked at each other. We ended up just throwing away both our food. And went somewhere else. Even though it was early in the day it tasted old for whatever reason. And my friends burrito was barely warm on top of tasting not so yummy.. me and my friend have different taste preferences but we both agreed in that moment it just was not tasting fresh or good.

My wife and I stopped by Bowles Burritos after doing the pill box hike. The food and service were excellent. We were stuffed and would come eat there again. Highly recommend 😋

Super friendly staff/owner. Tasty big burritos. Also was able to get a shot in my coffee in the bar that is attached.

Came here while visiting Hawaii and this place is definitely very authentic. Food is amazing and reminds me of TexMex / Northern Mexico food. Salsa is spicy and delicious, burritos and tacos were delicious and well priced. Everything was wonderful and it makes me sad I won't be able to come here again for many years!

  • 5/5 Lily M. 3 months ago on Google New
Great spicy carne asada with refried beans, cilantro rice, guac, salsa, onions, squeeze of lime and onions burrito in a bed of lettuce. I also got it wet with a green salsa topped with cheese. It was sooooo good and a great size to share. They do have a bar which looked fully stocked, definitely returning to try their nachos and margaritas! Still the best wet carne asada burrito

  • 5/5 Carlos A. 7 months ago on Google
First time visiting this joint. Had a spicy carne asada burrito and my son had a shredded beef burrito, both were delicious. The guys working here are super cool and there's a power chill bar adjoining, which I think is part of the same business. Either way it was great!! Will definitely be going back.

Best Burritos On Island! Forget Chipotle. If you need a banging burrito or a delicious burrito bowl, get to Bowles Burritos. Relaxed atmosphere and mouthwatering ingredients. I can personally recommend the spicy Carne Asada and the Kulua Pork any day of the week! And don't forget the chips and salsa! The homemade salsa is flavor-packed and comes in mild, medium, or spicy (all delicious).

I enjoy out of the way places with great food. The owner personalizes the visit by spending a lot of time in person and visiting with guests. If you get a chance to meet Maggie, you'll love her as well. I had a burrito bowl and got to sample the wet burrito. Both were amazing. I didn't visit the bar side, but if I'm in the area again, I'll drop in for a beer.

First time customer at this joint. Off the whim choice based on being up on MCBH from JBPHH. Very easy to order if you just follow the steps. Good prices for the island and the best part...the food was delicious. We got two bowls and two burritos with 4 cans of pop. With tip, came out to ~$60. The kalua pork was so good. Also tried the guava BBQ sauce which was totally worth it. Highly recommend this spot!!! We'll be going again when if it's a drive.

I'm from Arizona so I think I'm a pretty good judge of Mexican food... Well this place beats all! Flavors are incredible, portions large, ingredients fresh. Quaint establishment in a great little town. Been there 2x in 1 week and going one more time before I leave the island. I'd say it's a must!

  • 5/5 Jason M. 3 years ago on Google
This was my first of many visits to come for Bowles Burritos. The establishment was clean, the workers were friendly and helpful, the price was reasonable for the area. The ingredients looked and tasted fresh. This is the Hawaiian version of Chipotle with a mom and pop feel. I HIGHLY recommend this establishment if you have a hankering for Mexican/ burritos. I think they are one of the best on the island.

This is my third time here... Covid precautions: *Every* table was full no masks even those who were done eating. Musicians playing and singing. Bartender doing their thing. It honestly felt like pre-covid in there (which may be a plus for some people but not me) The only precaution was staff wearing masks. I’m happy I ordered online because I was uncomfortable. Online ordering: ordered a “10 inch” burrito, chips and guacamole for pick up at 6:45. Showed up at 6:35 and my burrito was already sitting on a ledge waiting. You get charged nearly $2 for ordering online. Should’ve just called and ordered over the phone. Food: if I would’ve showed up at 645 instead of 635 my burrito would’ve been even colder than it already was and the guac would’ve been even warmer. I took a bite into cooked lettuce, a sprinkle of Luke warm carne asada and a TON of Luke warm rice. That burrito must’ve been made at 615 and sat out the entire time. I’d rather wait a minute than have my order be cold. I paid $15 for a Luke warm, small, rice burrito with a sprinkle of carne asada. Ridiculously overpriced. The guacamole is super citrusy? I really want to support my local Kailua restaurants but I’ll be going back to Maui Tacos or honestly just Taco Bell would be better than this.

This is definitely one of my favorite spots. Everyone who works here is SOOO nice and friendly. The food is incredible and fresh. No packaged food, and you can taste the difference. The creamy cilantro sauce is out of this world. I go here often and always get a Bomber Burrito. It is definitely 2 meals - HUGE! If you are in Kailua, you HAVE to go to Bowles. Worth every single penny.

I’m a chef and I’m pretty forgiving, however if your going to use canned retried beans at least season them up; they also taste like the tin can they came out of. The Spanish rice is so bland. Disappointed.

Love the food here. Christian is awesome!! Always remembers my name. That's a plus!! and the food is consistent. My family loves to eat here, everything on the menu is great..... the kalua pig breakfast burrito is simply satisfying. Thanks guys!! You guys ROCK

  • 1/5 Brian W. 3 years ago on Google
I just moved here from El Paso, Texas so my hopes weren’t high, but this food tastes like it was made by someone who has never met someone from Mexico. It tastes like there was a conscious effort to achieve a bland taste. The word appropriation comes to mind but that would be too generous. That would imply resemblance to the original form, which this food has none.

This place is a bar and it’s a bar that makes good Mexican food. We picked up a burrito, burrito bowl, and key lime pie. We both had stomach aches after. The key lime pie looks like it’s ordered in, not made by the bros at the bar. It’s super yummy because it has 10 cups of sugar! It’s delicious but the sweetness is over done. The burritos were ok. Meat lacked flavor, like it had not been marinated long enough.

  • 5/5 Eric O. 3 years ago on Google
The food is always fresh and delicious, and the service and staff are always fast and friendly! Also I really love the rewards program that they offer. I have a free burrito that I could redeem, and without even knowing it, I was able to get 20% off my order today!!! 🇲🇽🌯🙌🏼💯🤙🏼
