I've been craving super authentic Mexican food for some time. Pretty picky as I've gotten really good food in Texas. Been here a few times. The chips and salsa and pretty good I just admit. The artichoke and jalapeno dip I wasn't a fan of if I'm being honest. I wasn't what I was expecting. It was literally artichoke and jalapenos and some cheese on top. I thought it would have a smothering amount of white cheese and had bits and pieces of artichokes and jalapenos in it. But it was edible but I wouldn't order it again. The chicken tostada's are my personal favorite. My mom ordered the ground beef quesadillas and enjoyed them. The beef chimichanga was okay. Granted I did eat it when I got home instead of at the restaurant so it wasn't crispy anymore. I just wasn't a fan of the flavors. Would come back here for the tostada's and the chips & salsa for sure! Plus the service is always decent.

We were looking for a place to eat for quite some time, after a few busts we headed here. The food was phenomenal, best Mexican food I've ever had and that says a lot considering it's my favorite type. I ordered the shredded beef chimichanga and bean burrito, both of which had a lot of flavor, chimi was perfectly crisp. The chips and salsa weren't run of the mill either, it's got an appropriate level of heat while still being extremely flavorful. The staff were very friendly and charismatic. A trip back to Honolulu might be worth it to stop by this little gem.

Coming from a real Mexican this is da one and only Mexican restaurant we’ve found to be good on island, and good is an understatement! Not 100% authentic Mexican food, more Texmex with a little local fusion but absolutely delicious. The service is friendly and the atmosphere is nice. The only downfall is parking and because it is the only good Mexican place on the island it gets crowded FAST (even during the week). You can call ahead and make reservations or get takeout to avoid the crowd. Our favorites so far are the seafood tacos and enchiladas… yumm just thinking about it makes my mouth water. Go check this place out ASAP, you won’t regret it!

Came here after wife found us some Mexican food that we’ve both been craving. It’s small hole in the wall and don’t let that deter you. There is little parking in front. They’re very welcoming and bring waters right away along with chips and salsa. Salsa was good and chips thick and crunchy. Wife ha free taco with rice; homemade taco shell and ground beef was flavored. I had the combination; cheese enchilada with red sauce (tasted really good), crispy beef taco (love the homemade shell) and I upgrade to the pozole. That right there is fantastic; the broth is very flavorful like how my wife does hers (she's Pueblo from New Mexico) and this Pozole was spot on. highly recommend trying the Pozole

Small hole in the wall type restaurant with really good food. The tacos were very good. Enchiladas were good. They let you replace the rice and beans with a salad or bowl of posole (which is excellent!) They also have a good dessert menu. Churros and ice cream are very good. The service was some of the best on the island. The most authentic Mexican restaurants on Oahu.

I didn’t like this dish at all. The fried potatoes were old, the red sauce was sweet. The rice and beans were bland. I hope quality improves.

The food is excellent. Did I say delicious too? Must be good. One waiter and continuous flow of customers. He was so courteous and patient to all. The pictures of the food that I took doesn't do it justice. You gotta come down and eat here. Parking in front is very limited. There's street parking across the street from the Restaurant. The portions are huge. I could only eat half. I'm still licking my lips.

What a perfect taco Tuesday! AT was our server and host. My fiancé and I road our bikes here and we’re worried about where we should park/chain up our bikes. AT greeted us at the door and gave us a table by the window where we can watch our bike. He was very polite and accommodating. The food was and environment was exactly was we were hope for on a taco Tuesday. Very affordable and delicious food and great service! We will be back for sure! Thank you AT!!!

I'm Denver CO born and raised. Mexican food is literally on every other corner, so I am super picky. This food as far as flavor, lacked a whole lot..The food was seriously just okay.

I've had Mexican food all over the country -- yes, even in Texas. Oddly enough, this little place in Hawaii makes it the best: The best tacos, the best enchiladas, the best Pico de Gallo, guacamole and chips... I know it's weird to be so excited about it. They nail that quintessential familiar flavor we crave when we want Mexican, but they use fresh, tasty ingredients and make it all fresh. The servers are so attentive. Everything just hits the spot perfectly. Easily, its my favorite Mexican restaurant. Period.

food - 4 stars; depending on how busy they are it can swing between 3 to 5 stars, still more good than not service - 5 stars; the staff is always on point and very friendly, doing all they can to make you feel comfortable and welcomed

My husband and I ate here yesterday for lunch. I had the tostada and pozole, and my husband got chicken fajitas. The salsa is good, my tostada was good even though it had about two times as many beans for the amount of shredded beef they gave me, and my husband liked his fajitas. The chicken was very moist, but I thought the veggies were a bit overcooked. They were very very soft, almost like they were about to fall apart. The prices are a bit high for what you're getting, but not terrible. They should spend some time cleaning the restaurant, however. The tablecloth at the booth we were in was very grimy and had old food splatters on it. There were some terra cotta tile decorations near the ceiling above us, and there were clumps on clumps of dust hanging off of them. It just made me wonder what else they hadn't been cleaning very well... Overall, I would say our experience was okay. The food was good, prices were okay, the service was very good, but the table we were sat at was dirty.

Hands down the best Mexican restaurant in Hawaii. The staff are top notch and make you feel valued as a customer. The food is 10/10 with the aloha flare. The LC burrito alone is worth the trip. The drinks are really good and are set to at a good price for the area. I can not oversell this place. If you ever get the chance of going there, please do. I would like to point out the server Chris for always making us feel like we were home. 10/10.

I didn’t have any expectations coming from San Diego but I was really surprised! The food was great and service is excellent! As a vegan there were good options too. I am for sure coming back.

This is a real gem. Don't let the unassuming exterior fool you. Awesome meals, great service, fun atmosphere. I've NEVER been in a Mexican restaurant that offers a salad instead of beans and rice!?! And it wasn't a handful of chopped salad, it was a really nice side salad. What a perfect compliment to a wonderful Chimichanga. The Fajita salad was tasty and unique. Chips were stone ground, fresh and the salsa was OUTSTANDING!

What a find! Or so we thought but the locals seem to know not already. There were long lines at the entrance. Thank goodness we had a reservation! Food was excellent! Even for us looking for vegetarian options! There’s plenty to choose from! My Taco vegetarian platter was great to look at and tasted even better. The service was also excellent, with a smile. Nice ambiance- cozy and comfy. Parking was the only issue we faced! The general manager, AT, stopped by the table and made sure we had everything we wanted. Our waiter was super friendly as well and took cmggreat care of us.

I generally avoid Mexican food in hawaii but this place is amazing. The Jamaica and the Mole were homemade!!! Everything was so good and it wasn’t super expensive. By far the best I’ve had on island.
