Service was excellent 5 stars. My 4 star review was just based on the good service alone. Visited Mexico Restaurant for dinner. They have their own parking lot but if you can't find parking , you can also park on school street during dinnertime hours. The decor outside and inside is cute and "Mexican" themed. As soon as we sat down, the server brought chips and salsa. I had been recommended this place by 2 different friends/parties so went in with high expectations. I wasn't very impressed with the food taste. The chips and salsa (although complimentary) we're not that tasty - chips were not super crispy, salsa was kind of bland. The menu is extensive, lots of options to choose from. My friend ordered fajitas plate and I had a veggie wrap plate. Both portions were generous. However I was not impressed with the food taste. The blandness or lack of flavor was kind of astonishing . I probably will not be back as I prefer more flavors /flavorful Mexican food. But again, the service was excellent and for that alone my rating stands at 4 stars .

This Mexico eatery servers very authentic Mexican food and the staffs are also friendly! The portion is good and a free basket of Taco , great Salsa source. Highly recommended the combo plate! Just one thing to note that this restaurant is located right across from a famous Hawaii food restaurant, few parking lots

We loved their food. Great service low budget restaurant. Nice folks. Special requests for vegetarians was very well received. They even made sure beans and rice are meat free. Large quantities and delicious food. Certainly recommend visiting them on your Hawaii trip.

$70 total for two people. The restaurant was very busy! Despite this, the service was still friendly and fast. Unfortunately, the server misheard me and I received shredded beef instead of my desired shredded chicken. It was still good, but I prefer to eat chicken. The free salsa was a bit weird. Kinda like spicy ketchup. Everything else we ordered was hot and tasty. Something that surprised me was the rice and beans. Very flavorful. Definitely the star of the plate. The enchiladas are VERY cheesy, lactose intolerants beware! Overall, we had a lovely meal and we would be happy to return.

My wife and I went in on 05/30 in the evening to get some food. We were seated and were brought chips and salsa right away. After that, everything went downhill. After waiting for more than 15 minutes and watching the customers that came in after us get waited on, I finally had to ask a waitress for service. Even then we did not feel welcomed. Not sure if it was because we were the only Mexicans in the restaurant, but it sure felt like we were being discriminated against. With that said, we did get our food and it was decent but a bit pricey for the quality. Also, the decor of the restaurant was overkill. It seemed like they were trying way too hard to make it authentic Mexican. During our visit to O'ahu, we had the opportunity to eat at many places and would recommend almost all of them. This on the other hand is one I would advise to stay away from.

Was looking for good Mexican food. It was decent. Maybe they were shorthanded the day we went. We had the combination platter. Taco, enchillada and burrito. Added kalua pig for little more. Tastes all fresh but it just felt like it missing something. Prepare for a wait dining here.

Went there today for a mother's day, me day. I was sat at a back table near the kitchen because I was by myself and there were many other parties there. I got a fish dish and it was incredible!! The staff were super friendly and personable. My only minor complaint is that since I was alone at times I felt forgotten, like my water wasn't always looked after and it took a while to get the bill. It was incredible food and friendly staff, I think if I had more people in my party I would have gotten more attention but even with that I will always go back and have their delicious food.

I ordered “Huevos Rancheros” It taste how it looks…. Not good. I left midway through the meal. Satisfy your Mexican craving elsewhere. I do not recommend

The food was middle of the road Mexican. I was sad that the Chile rellenos was soggy :( the waiter said I should ask to have it double fried next time since they only make a bunch early in the day. If you don't like cheese, do not get the chimichanga, otherwise it was delicious! Would probably go back since it reminds me of the tex-mex stuff you find in the mainland.

If you're looking for a good Mexican restaurant this is it! Delicious food, quality and fresh ingredients, fantastic service and huge portions...just look at the pics. I think that the ground beef was the game changer here. Seasoned to perfection that paired well with everything. Keep it up guys....

The burritos, and queso skillet were excellent, and the margarita was good. The service was fine (after I asked someone if they could take our order after we were seated and waited 25 minutes). Of course having to ask was embarrassing and was the main reason for the low review. The food was good, so I will go back and hope that the service is better.

The chimichanga was pretty good but some bites were incredibly salty. Rice and beans are good. Chicken tacos are okay. I do appreciate that they allow you to order Al a carte, you do not have to have the entire combo. Prices are okay. The fried ice cream was super tasty but we waited a very long time to receive it. Service sucks really. We got seated and we’re not greeted until way late, and the complimentary chips and salsa were brought out way after we had already placed our order. I had a good time at this place so the lack of service didn’t bother me too much, had I been hungrier it would’ve made me leave tbh. Very cute restaurant aesthetically!

I definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for good Mexican food in Honolulu, however the salsa is extra and it was not worth it. The enchiladas were delicious and well proportioned. Don’t get the horchata 🌝

I've been looking for a good Mexican restaurant and that just so happens to be the name of the restaurant I dropped into the other night and had some old school Mexican food, the south of the border dishes authentic prepared in no time at all. It didn't take long for me to decide - Enchiladas my favorite, but it's been years since I experienced that original robust flavor, accompanied with frijoles and Spanish rice. This Mexican restaurant is located on school street near The Rainbow Restaurant. Inside , authentic Mexican decor, I give it a thumbs up to an culinary joyful experience.

Homemade chips and salsa served free for dine in customers. Crab Chimichanga and shrimp and fish burrito was huge with all the sides included. It was delicious with a lychee margarita. We had Deep fried French vanilla cinnamon icecream hit the spot. Service was the best. Lots of art displays to look at. We enjoyed our meal and stay. We're coming again.

Great food with large servings. Friendly staff as well. Only complaint is bathroom wasn't best with water leaks and dingy

I was lucky and came in during a slow time. My waitress took very good care of me and made sure to check on me regularly. The food was soo good!!! And big plate and portions, so price was worth it.

Googled few Mexican restaurants n so glad to have found this little nook. My son n I went there for his birthday dinner last night. Cool place with beautiful Mexican style decor atmosphere. Food was fresh, well seasoned, delicious n made well to my specification! Price was good n generous portions. My son loved his large burrito entree n i loved my chicken enchiladas. Our server, Juan was wonderful! He listened to our order specifications well n was very pleasant the whole time he served us. We'll definitely be back again when we get some Mexican food cravings

Mexican restaurants in Honolulu are not common. This restaurant has a large food menu and a margarita menu fuse with a fusion flavors of Hawaii to challenge you to try something different! The food is really good, and the waitstaff was attentive and communicative.

Food is sooooo good, portions is huge and staff is amazing. Highly recommend this place

My wife and I are here for work and got lucky to find the gem. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Service was fast and attentive. The food was fantastic. I have had Mexican food all over North America, this place is great! It's not a super fancy chain place, the atmosphere is eclectic. The parking is limited. Overall the food and service outweigh any negatives to me. We loved it. I would highly recommend this to anyone that wants good food and friendly service.

Parking tight. 20 minutes to seat. Ordered the carne asada with 2 Tecates. Food came out fast and delicious! Excellent server. $100 for 3 adults.
