We found this spot while driving around and exploring Oahu. It is an excellent hidden gem! We stopped in for lunch and had a lovely experience from start to finish. The man at the counter was kind and attentive and the ramen was amazing. We ordered the chicken katsu curry and miso ramen. I’m so glad we came across Rai Rai Ramen and would recommend for a delicious, flavorful meal for anyone in the area.

Loved this place. “Hole in the wall” kind of place, delicious ramen. Super friendly service.

Had the house ramen. Which I give 4/5. I have feeling the other ramens are a little tastier. Like the simple vibe of this place. Unpretentious and relaxed. Quick service and I think the staff is very nice. I’d start with other ramens vice the house which was ok - just nothing to write home about.

Had a delicious Miso ramen. I had this in Japan in my youth and this was a wonderful trip down memory lane. I had mixed and eaten a few bites before the photo so it looks much better when it arrives. Careful though, the hot and spicy is really hot so be prepared. The staff was friendly and attentive and I would definitely go back.

The food was pretty good. The parking is very limited as is the restaurant in seating space. The food is fast and the service was okay. If you’re looking for a nice bowl of ramen it’s a food spot to go.

Amazing! My favorite Ramen I've had in Hawaii! (And I'm a ramen connoisseur so I know. Lol) The meat was sooo tender and the broth was spicy and delicious. 10/10

Rai Rai Ramen was AMAZING. Some of the best food i’ve had all year. I’d rate this 11/10 if I could. Seat yourself with incredibly friendly staff. The definition of a hole in the wall authentic restaurant. Real Japanese cuisine, huge portions, reasonable prices and great start to end experience. Our sever was lovely and the food came out SO FAST. It’s also BYOB so we ran across the street and got some tall boys from 7/11. I’ll be coming back weekly!! OBSESSED! Highly suggest the combo dishes. I was worried both would be super small portions but they’re huge and literally so delicious.

It's OK, not bad at all but not too special. The chasiu is fatty but a little tough. Soup is a little salty.

Rai Rai has about 6 stalls in the front of the store that they share with another business. It's one of those parking lots that you kind of have to back out onto the street to get out so if traffic allows you to definitely back in. Small dine in area with about 7 tables. When we went at around 1930 there was only 2 other groups but they had a bunch of take out orders. Service was fast and friendly and despite there only being one lady working the tables and take out everything came out quickly. We got a shoyu ramen set (small ramen, bowl rice and 4 gyoza) and a regular mabo tofu ramen. Both had really flavorful broth and the noodles were nice and chewy. Gyoza was also excellent but the rice was a little dry. Price was 14.75 for the set (1 dollar more to upgrade to fried rice) and 14 bucks for the mabo tofu. Overall very happy with the food we got. Price is a little higher than most other ramen places but think it's worth the slight premium to me.

Three and a half stars, rounded up. Crowded with people waiting outside for a reason. Parking is limited. I ordered the vegetable ramen, which was very good except that the vegetables arrived perfectly cooked but the broth kept cooking them as I ate. Another diner was pleasantly surprised by the house ramen's salt cabbage and oyster katsu. The rest of my party wasn't as impressed by their dishes. Reasonable prices, for the most part, but very slow service.

Small place with SUPER good food! Tried the house ramen and the chicken katsu curry with rice. Both were amazing (even the ramen broth was delicious). Highly recommended!

Be warned you may just drive past this place because its a super small parking lot. The service was good and the food came out quick. We got the katsu chicken curry Ramen, the shrimp fried rice and the house Ramen. Our favorites were the katsu chicken Ramen and the shrimp fried rice. The house house Ramen was OK but definitely nothing to write home about. The noodles came out a little under cooked but were on point by the end of the meal. Would definitely go back

Great Local Ramen restaurant! I really enjoyed the flavorful ramen (a little crazy for the stuff), the broth, chaisiu, and noodles were very tasty. Gyoza and Katsu Curry Chicken was on point too. Nothing too fancy, but really hits the mark with flavor, portion size, and at a fair price. Great friendly service and casual setting. 10/10 would recommend!

Situated in a small strip mall with 5 parking spots out front. I had high hope for the place with so many great reviews and with a full day at the nearby beach we we're starving. We had the house ramen and the hataka tonkatsu; The Ramen noodles are great, everything else was well below par. The chasiu was dry and grainy, the broth was salt forward and very watery. On a positive note the service is fast and friendly and the shrimp katsu is good.

First time here really enjoyed the food, service was top notch, restaurant has a "cozy themed atmosphere"

  • 5/5 Charles S. 1 year ago on Google
Great little while in the wall. I got the shoyu ramen set which came with rice and gyoza. I wish I’d gotten a bigger bowl! It was honestly the best ramen I’ve had in years. Broth was delicious and the noodles were cooked perfectly. So good. Do yourself a favor and eat here.

Yum! A delicous place to get a bowl of ramen and a few different starters! The portions are a good size, the service is quick, and the food is DELICIOUS! They should definitely be in the top 10 for Kailua restaurants. The place was really busy (almost full the entire time we were there) and parking is limited up front. Generous portion of chicken in the curry, the seafood ramen was loaded with fish, shrimp, scallops, and veggies, and the house ramen was great for indecisive people who want to try a little of everything. We would love to come back for another bowl.

Our family all love ramen. We eat it whenever wherever we travel and place hit all the high notes. Simple space for dining in but what they make is excellent. Broth was great in all the dishes we had and while not traditional, would highly recommend the wonton ramen. The wontons are excellent. Fast service. Parking out front.

  • 4/5 Keith I. 1 year ago on Google
Bottom line, really good ramen. I usually get the house ramen because of the mix of toppings which includes a fried oyster. Miso broth is well balanced, not overly salty. Comfort food as it’s best. Not the fanciest restaurant by any measure and parking is limited (you might have to park on the street), but if good ramen is what you are craving, this is your place.

My favorite ramen I've had in Hawaii. Simple space for dining in but what they make is excellent. The staff was very nice and top quality. Highly recommend the chicken katsu curry ramen :)

We found this place when on this side of the island and looking for a place that had fresh authentic ramen. And this place was it!! The parking lot is small and the shop itself is small, but it sure is a hidden gem. They were doing to-go orders and we were one of two parties dining in. We ordered the fried oysters which were fine. We ordered the curry ramen and the tonkatsu ramen. Both were very good and full of flavor and toppings. The ramen noodles you could tell were house made and thick. The broth was thick and full of flavor. It absolutely hit the spot and was a great find! For those who are ramen lovers, come here!!

Delicious ramen with fresh ingredients and great service. This place rivals high end ramen restaurants in Honolulu at a fraction of the cost. We had two separate ramen bowls and some gyoza, everything was delightful. Will definitely be back 🤙🏼

After spending the morning on Kailua beach and Lanikai beach, we were searching for food around the area. I was in the mood for ramen and we ended up at Rai Rai ramen. It seems like a mom and pop shop. Very small with limited parking. Restrooms are out in the back area. We were seated right away. It was not too crowded on a Friday for lunch time. The place was clean with a good amount of seats. We picked our choice of ramen and it was brought out fairly quick. I ordered an oxtail ramen. Portion was big. It came in a giant bowl with a ladle spoon. The broth was sweet and it was served with plenty of oxtail and noodles. I devoured the whole thing quickly. Warning that this place was cash only. The lady that took our orders was friendly and provided quick service. Overall, a good spot to grab a quick and filling lunch in the area.

We tried the spicy seafoos ramen and Tan tan. Both were excellent. Especially the TanTan. The spicy ramen is not for the faint of palate.

Best ramen in the area. Everything is freshly made and delicious. The slow egg is cooked to perfection, and the broth is exactly what you hope it would be!

This place is a hidden gem. They are closed on Tuesdays. Try yaki udon here if you like udon. Or seafood crispy fried noodle is very authentic, with pouring vinegar.

I'll start with it's some of the more pricier choices for ramen in the area however, it's so worth it. Having come from Okinawa we missed our ramen place. We tried several places on island and we wont go anywhere else! Everything they make is delicious and worth every cent. Dont let the physical appearance fool you this place is the best!

  • 4/5 K. A. A. 4 years ago on Google
Pricey ramen, but fresh & very tasty. Broth is rich & served piping hot. Noodles are firm & just a bit chewy, very good texture; might be housemade. Quick service too. Gyoza are housemade, a definite plus, but watery and come apart easily as a result. This is a 4-star restaurant with 5-star potential.

We had friends staying in the Kailua area & wanted ramen without driving back into town. We took a chance on Rai Rai Ramen & we weren't disappointed. The flavor of the broth was good (not the flavor profile of serious Japanese ramen places, but definitely good), gyoza large and cooked perfectly, noodles a good texture. Service was friendly and speedy. I'll head back there if I'm ever on the windward side craving ramen.

I got a recommendation from a local at Oliver and Oliver to eat here and he was not wrong. I got the spicy beef ramen and it was very good. This was my first experience with ramen, other than the $.39 kind, so I cant compare it but o know I enjoyed it very much!

  • 4/5 James L. 3 years ago on Google
4 Stars based on my girlfriend’s opinion, I’d likely go with 3 stars. Small place, maybe 6 tables and even fewer parking spots. We’ve been here multiple times, usually it’s satisfactory. This time I wanted to try something different so went with the Spicy Beef Ramen. I won’t make that mistake again. Beef doesn’t belong in ramen, my opinion.. We also got a fried rice for the road. The fried rice is pretty good (Uncle Roger would approve.. ha).
