The design of the hotel is beautiful. The peranakan decorations give the place a cultural vintage feel. But that's about it. Our stay was ruined by someone opening our room door in the middle of the night. It's very shocking and the first time we had such scary experience. I was awoken by the noise of someone opening other doors and decided to go check. When I was at the door, someone tapped the card to open our door. I yelped and the person got a shock and closed the door immediately. Even if it is a guard doing rounds, checking the rooms, shouldn't the communication from the reception be clear that there's someone staying in the room? I am very perplexed by this till now. What if it is not a guard? Who could it be? Could it be an intruder who wants to steal something from the guests? It is very scary to think about this and I am never going to think about hotel the same again. Stay at your own risk!

I check out on 11/9/22 and it was raining, our car parked far from hotel so we ask for help and the hotel do not have any umbrella even newspaper. Overall the hotel is good, but the attitude of front desk staff (a big size lady wearing spectacle) is bad, not offer any help and apologies at all. Not coming back from 2nd time

Stayed 2 nights in July. Checking in was relatively easy and hassle free. However the room we got was really dirty, bedsheet & pillowcase had tons on hair on them, carpet had stains and the room reek of cigarette smoke. The nights are extremely noisy with loud music playing till 2am. Parking is at your own risk. So only stay here if you donโ€™t have a choice and are a really heavy sleeper

Here is probably the only positive I can earnestly give. The hotel has quite good aesthetics. Staff just gave our room away to another guest without consulting us. In the end they gave us our rooms from yet another guest. Room comes with inequal amenities. We booked two rooms, one had a fridge, apparently the other one didn't. And neither did the hot water control work. No towels in the room. Can't even find the remote for the TV. Toilet once flushed doesn't stop flowing. Drawers were filled with cigarette ash. Back gate closed at 10, no announcement or notice when we came in the day.

The hotel interior is really retro and nice, and the room we've been given is really big despite it being the smallest room in the hotel. However, the experience here has been rather unpleasant. We checked in 5 hours after the allowed check-in timing and we still had to wait around 10 minutes for housekeeping to finish cleaning our room. The room also reeks of cigarette smoke smell which we couldn't get rid off even when we tried airing out the room. Also, the room we booked came with free parking but there's no reserved parking for hotel guests and it was a public holiday so we had to park at a paid parking area of a nearby building. We've tried complaining to the front desk but she couldn't offer anything more than free late check-out. She's probably just a employee so it's understandable that she doesn't have much power to give us anything substantial but it's still abit disappointing. The hotel is really beautiful and in a good area so we do hope the management could fix the issues we've brought up (i.e. proper scheduling of housekeeping duties, reserved parking, etc.) as the hotel has a lot of potential. Edit: We just checked out a few days ago, and the stay only got more disappointing as we realised that the room was not cleaned thoroughly (i.e. cigarette butt hidden in the desk, towel with holes in it, etc.). However, it does seem like the hotel is very understaffed as we saw one of the staff on deck fulfilling multiple job roles (i.e. receptionist, cleaning staff). We really hope management can do something about this so that the staff can fulfill each individual job scope satisfactorily instead of being stretched so thin.

Helpful stuff who have gave an immediate response after we get locked in the room (lock issue). Nice deco in the hotel with all antique baba nyonya furniture allow you to get know the craftsmanship of old time. Although it is not as grand as those 4/5 star, but it may provide you with a experience to staying in the building with ancient architecture. Cozy and comfy room for short vacation in Melaka.

Nice small hotel and small room but comfortable bed. The major negative about this hotel is that there is a major building construction right behind the premise. The Piling work noise can make u crazy. Was not informed about the construction work before hand

Out of the old town hotel establishment with nicely decorated lobby and a very weird entrance by passing a restaurant attached to the hotel. There is no lift to get yourself up to the level of the room, and the staircase is a little bit narrow for a big chunky luggage. The check-in was swift, and we were quickly introduced to our room. The room is just okay, walkable within with minimal luggage. The toilet could've been cleaner, in my opinion. Overall, for the price you pay, this is not a bad stay as there are plenty of food and cafรฉ around the area and the parking is quite a lot.

It was an IG-worthy boutique hotel. Every space is a photo opportunity. The room I stayed in (Deluxe King) was not that big but the toilet was so large, I feel it was a waste of space. The bedroom could be bigger. The bed was very comfortable but it was a very short king bed as my feet could extend beyond the mattress and I am just 160 cm tall. The room is not sound-proof as I could hear everything outside the room. Luckily it was not a very busy night so there was not much noise. The hotel restaurant does not serve breakfast because when I wanted to order toast and half-boiled eggs (at 9.30 am) as advertised on the wall, the staff there said it is not open yet. So you will need to find breakfast elsewhere.

Room is not well kept, dirty and dusty. Pillow too soft, bed not comfortable. Parking is limited, location is out of the way (hidden from main road).

Donโ€™t be fooled with the exterior deco of this hotel. For rm140 per night this hotel is not worth the stay. The room hygiene was bad specially the bathroom. There was hair on the water trap, stains on the floor and dirty toilet roll. Make sure to wear the bedroom slipper as the carpet doesnโ€™t feel clean at all. Wifi connection was bad and no network at all.

The location was quite alright, but the parking can be a little difficult. Came here on New Year's in January. The room's cleanliness was just alright. The floor carpets look pretty dirty, so we wore the hotel slippers throughout our stay. The toilet is clean but with lots of stains that made it look really run down and dirty. Nothing too fancy about this place.

We have just checked out from the hotel, housekeeping was bad, we arrived on Wednesday with dirty floors i believed not vacuumed until we requested it to be. Toilet floors were dirty and stained. We ended up wearing the bedroom slipper throughout the entire stay. Welcome drinks were not served as published. Only mineral water and coffee/tea without kettle available in the room (also until it is requested). Day curtains were torn, stained bedsheet and coffee cups were stained as well. It is understandable that it is under construction however it shouldnt disrupt the ambience of the room itself. Pity it is such a beautiful place with beautiful lobby but unkempt rooms.

Rustically authentic to the nyonya'ed theme of the place. The reception area of this hotel is almost like a throwback to the days reminiscent of tales described by Rudyard Kipling. The large extensive lobby is also an extension to dining area of the nyonya restaurant. A hidden gem indeed from the prying eye of the typical run-of-the-mill tourist.
