I attended the Stoney gate Eye hospital on 17th January 2022. I was very nervous about having cataract surgery but knew it was necessary if I wanted to continue driving my car 🚙. From the moment I walked into the hospital I was put at ease by the wonderful staff and nurses. I was probably in the clinic for about 2 hours but most of the time was spent with the nurses doing eye tests etc and administering eye drops (not painful). I was seen by the surgeon prior to the procedure and he explained what was going to happen during the operation. From there I went down to the theatre and lay on the bed. More eye 👁‍🗨 drops were put in which the surgeon said was anaesthetic. After that I felt nothing other than water running and I heard him say that's the old lens out and a minute or two later he said that's the new lens in. I honestly never felt a thing. And that was it. Now my sight from the eye I had done is amazing and in fact everything was so bright that I had to wear sun glasses for a few days. I would recommend this procedure to anyone and it is absolutely painless. Greeted at reception by friendly staff. I was due to have a cataract removal but was worried because I have Glaucoma and Diabetes, I thought the surgery wouldn't be so straight forward and there maybe some complications. Having met my consultant Ms Lina Osman I knew I was in the best hands. My pre op she explained all what was going to happen and the procedure was swift and a success. Nursing and theatre team were cheerful and processional. The clinic was spotless and comfortable while you were waiting to have your procedure done. I would certainly recommend anyone who need eye surgery to visit Stoneygate Eye Hospital. 5*

I recently had my cataract surgery carried out at Stoneygate. (02/02/22). I must say I am very pleased with the outcome. I found the staff very approachable and helpful during the entire process. Right from the initial referral and contact I was made to feel very assured and welcome. This made me feel comfortable and at ease. On the day of the surgery the staff and surgeon made me feel so comfortable and everything went so smoothly with the entire process and I was home within a few hours! I would recommend this hospital. Came here for my NHS appointment. Service was excellent and I was in and out in less than 1 hour. Receptionists were both pleasant and welcoming and even got me a mint tea!

I am very happy to review Stoneygate eye hospital, Leicester, following two visits from the clinic for removal of two cataracts . This is an amazing laser operation, painless, quick and truly eye opening. The staff are very friendly and reassuring , answering all questions and concerns you may have in a very professional, informative manner. My consultant Mr Savant, and nursing staff are excellent and I feel a total different person, after wearing contacts and glasses for over 60 years. I was extremely worried about having my cataract operation. However, from the minute I entered the Stoneygate Eye Hospital I was met with kindness and reassurance. The Consultant put me at ease before and during the operation, and I had a nurse holding my hand throughout. I wondered why I had been worried in the first place! The Consultant, and all nurses, and staff are wonderful. As I have to have my other eye done at some point, I will definitely be requesting to have it done here - and will know I need not be worried next time as I would be in good hands. I cannot praise them enough.

Considering I have a phobia about knives and Eyes, it was a pleasure to have had double lens replacements at the Stoneygate Eye Hospital. Pre-op communication was efficient clear, simple and straight forward, nothing left unclear or omitted. 10/10 You gain the first impression at reception. The staff are superb, extremely friendly and well trained 10/10 Pre-op testing was detailed and very professional, everything explained so you know what is going on and why. 10/10 Discussions and advice given by the consultant was exceptional, Explaining why a particular lens type was a risk and it would be a waste of my money as well as elevating the risk. 10/10 Oh and.the nurses 10/10 On the day! Cannot fault the whole experience and care. I opted for the support of anaesthesia of the eye, which if you have a phobia about knives and eyes is well worth the money, as the eye vision is lost during the procedure. 10/10 I am a wheelchair user and have limited mobility, the operating room staff, and the Consultant particularly, helped me on to the table.10/10 Overall the experience was wonderful, could not rate the Hospital, staff and consultant, high enough. Thank you so much for a superb experience. Honestly, if I could give more than 10/10 I would.

Had a cataract operation, vision was blurred and was told by opticians to contact the consultant. Called the practice and was informed I would need to pay an additional £200 for a consultation even though they were the ones that carried out the procedure. Terrible aftercare and completely unaccountable.

Took my mum 2nd Nov. From start to finish amazing treatment. Had both my eyes done there. All 3 experiences were done with the utmost care from all involved. Excellent service.

Took my elderly father today for Cataract surgery. He was in a wheelchair. All the staff were lovely, caring, kind and very accommodating to us both. Nothing was too much trouble. The hospital was clean, tidy and bright. Plenty of parking spaces. Everything was clearly explained and went like clockwork. Extremely pleased. Fantastic people, great customer service with attention to care. I have taken my mum to this eye hospital on many occasions to have cataracts removed, and after care visits thereafter. The clinic is organised, clean and efficient. All my appointments were on time and the aftercare is excellent. Mr Mokashi was both kind and knowledgeable. He answered all my questions carefully and gave me reassurance and realistic expectations. I was extremely impressed with how theatre protocols were rigorously followed. I’ve had an excellent outcome and felt thoroughly cared for at every stage.

I recently went private to have lumps removed from each of my eyelids. March 2023 - removal of a chalazion on both eyelids. Dr Berry-Brincat was fantastic, from the first appointment, surgery and aftercare appointment, really approachable and easy to community with and always with a smile. The whole process was quick, fantastically managed and I felt really taken care of. The after care pack of cooling eye mask, antibiotic drops, gauzes and saline water, showed how much they cared, even after the surgery appointment, even a polite follow up call the day after the surgery to make sure I was ok. I would recommend Stoneygate to all my family and friends. Overall fantastic service.

I had recently had my LASEK eye surgery with Mr Savant and where do I start.. From the initial consultation the supporting staff were amazing, dealt with all my questions efficiently and advised me in detail in regards to the next steps etc.. I felt no pressure in proceeding with them as I advised this was my first consultation and that I would be doing a few more. As I felt the other clinics were not up to Stoneygate standards, I decided to proceed with Stoneygate and having a further consultation I was booked in for my surgery. I had the surgery on 10/11/2022 and was given all of the information in detail by the nurse in relation to the specific eye drops I would need to use. I was extremely nervous for my surgery but Dr Savant and the team were extremely helpful at putting me to ease during the surgery. Been a patient here for a few years now and am very pleased with my choice. Everyone, without exception, offers the most friendly and professional service, from the person on reception to my consultant Mr Tailor. I am happy that I am receiving the best ongoing care for my glaucoma that I could ask for!

Any concerns I had about my lens replacement surgery were dispelled as soon as I walked into reception. All staff were so calming, offering drinks to my wife and I. No time to drink my coffee though, as I was soon called for various procedures prior to the operation. At all stages the staff were friendly, always making sure I was OK. Throughout the laser treatment and final operation I felt very comfortable in the modern operating room, surrounded by lots of modern, hi tech machinery. Again Mr Sampath and his staff made me very comfortable and reassured. Results of the first operation on my right eye are amazing. I have no concerns or hesitation about going ahead with the second. I am absolutely blown away with the result of my lens replacement procedure. I have worn glasses every day for 50 years but not any more. To be able to read even the smallest print is amazing. The staff are very professional, friendly and welcoming and put you at total ease. The coffee is lovely too. The whole procedure was pain free and I highly recommend the Hospital and the procedure to anyone wanting a glasses-free life.
