But the pork knuckle I ordered was crispy outside, tender and juicy inside. Very flavorful and large portion. The price is reasonable. Will definitely come back.

When we arrived in Cologne this was the first stop needing a rest, and immediately we got to experience some of the best parts of German Culture in a bierhaus. They could just said that in first place and we would have probably came back later for the beer. No need to say that it was then even harder to find another place to have late dinner.

A must go place in Cologne, that has a great environment and atmosphere. The beer comes with 0.2 glasses and everytime you emptied it, a new glass is filled until you close your glasses with the beer mat. Also the food is amazing and one of the best meat I have ever eaten in Germany. Even with these amazing sides, it is also cheap!

This place remains a great experience. Good food and a decent price. Good beer. Great old world setting. We love this place. Very popular so hard to get a table but worth the wait. We got served very quickly but expect to wait or share a table which is a lovely experience in itself and not that usual for us Brits. A must do in Cologne in my view.

Not a great experience. As soon as we arrived we were told we would need to hurry up because they were closing at 3 pm. The food was expensive for what we got. One our party only had 1 bread roll ( the menu said 2) and she could not eat it because it was so overcooked. We were in a hurry to pay because another member of staff again reminded us they were closing. We walked out of the door which was rapidly closed and locked behind us. I then realised we had been short changed by €5. Would not recommend.

Dinner was 57 euros and we paid 60, I was about to give the 3 remaining euros as a tip, but the waiter just smiled and kept the money, I waited and stared at him but he said something like, everythings okey ha? So I understood he was not going to return my 3 euros even when he just said " It will be 57 euros" and obviously that was not the quantity we gave him since it were all in paper and any coins. It's not that much money but I'm student and I was about to give it as a tip. I don't think is nice to take someones money without permission even when you gave them a service. I didnt felt good about that and will be not returning to that place.

I would honestly travel all the way from London to Cologne just for this dinner again. I went for the waiter's recommendation (couldn't translate the menu, but staff are happy to help) of the marbled pork chop with onions on top. It was unbelievably good. Juicy, tender, flavoursome, buttery onions, salty fries with paprika. Everything about the food was perfect. 10/10 highly recommend, I would have eaten here again the following day but sadly closed on Tuesdays. Also; pork knuckle served on Wednesdays only, and I bet it's incredible.

Small and old German Kneipe where you can enjoy typical German food and good Kölsch (cologne beer). The place gives you a warm and welcome atmosphere. People there are just very friendly. It is normally crowded but reservation isn't needed if you are less than 4 people. Just have to enjoy the Kölsch while you are waiting to be seated ;)

If your looking for an authentic experience in this magnificent city . This little gem is off the tourist trap . The Kölsch is by far the best I had in the city . The kotlett was tender and delicious. A must try when in Cologne.

Plenty of English spoken. Locals are very friendly. Not expensive. 20 minute walk from Cologne cathedral - bridge across the river, nice views. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
