A place worth visiting on your trip to Cologne. A paradise in the city with free parking right next door (although it is a bit small) or on nearby streets. you also have fairly clean toilets and at least two different exits for the botanical, the main entrance of course is impressive! In the building inside the botanical there is a cafeteria where you can enjoy your coffee.

Heaven on earth! So beautiful, so well maintained, such a diversity of flowers and plants and I even saw a little mouse, a rabbit, and a few squirrels, one of them nibbling on raspberries, such a wholesome experience.

Very pleasant and pretty. Nice variety of flowers and they are in the progress of expanding. No ticket needed to enter and there is a small cafe on the grounds.

A truly beautiful and calm place to spend a day with your loved ones. On weekdays it's not overly crowded, offering a serene atmosphere to enjoy the stunning views. It's definitely worth visiting if you happen to be in the area

Lovely garden with thousands of different flowers, trees and plants. The smells are beautiful and it's hard to believe you're still in the city when you walk through the garden. The water features were turned off (likely to discourage visitors during COVID) but the grounds are open and you must wear a mask. Very pretty outing for family, friends or for a date.

The Cologne Botanical Garden is a beautiful relaxing garden even in February when we visited. There are various rooms to the gardens and there is a lake. The signage around the garden was very good. We saw many red squirrels in the grounds. We saw signs for toilets at the back of the exhibition hall but didn't test if they were open. The nearest underground station is the Zoo Flora station. The quickest way to walk to the garden is through the Zoo entrance. There are maps of the garden in a box on the left hand side as you enter the garden. Giant new botanical glass houses are under construction in the grounds.

Very beautiful botanical garden with free entry to roam around; there's plenty of easy access routes to get in. Some smaller paths leading around the main building and grassy areas, benches. Highly recommended if in the area to enjoy the scenery here, as it's very well maintained.

(Translated by Google) Terribly incompetent security service, not recommended at all. Explanation: On closer inspection, one of the sculptures on display sways in the wind. When I was impressed and showed my friends that the sculpture was swaying, the security guard approached me with the question of whether I had pushed the sculpture. I, assuming it was a joke, because this sculpture is always swaying and that the artist intended it that way, replied with a laugh: "Yes, it was me, I couldn't resist." But I made it clear that this was a joke. The security guard then threw me out and banned me from the house! The security guard was also convinced of further attempts to explain that I had pushed the sculpture and said that I was right to throw me out. A place where such people work and annoy the visitors is really not recommended.

(Translated by Google) The flora is something for everyone who would like to enjoy the diversity of plants. I like to go through here in every season of the year, if you like to take pictures you will always find something here, the camellias that start to bloom in spring, the lively pond in summer with its water lilies and so there is a lot that can be listed. The gastronomy is also wonderful, there is something for everyone with a nice terrace to sit outside. I highly recommend it.

(Translated by Google) The Fora in Cologne is beautiful in every season. The spacious area is very easy to walk and there is always something to discover. And you also see a lot of animals, rabbits, birds, squirrels, etc. The flora in Cologne is also very suitable for taking pictures. Oh yes, the flora does not cost any entry, which is very rare.

Great place to walk around. Given that it’s just another public space (entrance free of charge), during spring and fall seasons it gets quite eye pleasing. Currently the “tropical” pavilions are under reconstruction but it will be a great addition to the garden when renovated

Really beautiful botanical garden, easily reachable with public transport. One of the best places in Cologne to take a walk and enjoy the blooming flowers and vegetation and escape the heat. You can go around some wonderful fountains and lakes because the garden has a good layout for casual walks.

I was here with my girlfriend. It’s very close to the Zoo which is another place worth checking out. This garden isn’t very big but it’s lovely. Very serene, a large number of trees, flowers and plants. Highly recommend visiting the herbs garden, it smells amazing. Unfortunately the garden wasn’t fully open because they are renovating but what we did see was very very nice. Plus the little fountain + waterfall is such a nice spot to chill. Did I mention it’s free? 😊

A lovely park with a lush garden and a medieval like hotel / event venue and a cafe with beautiful views. At the cafe they pack a little picnic basket to enjoy when you get hungry while exploring different collections of plants, critters and sculptures 🧺

It's free. It's actually pretty big, so you can take a nice walk throughout the park. There's thought provoking sculptures that you can interact with. I would even go again. We stumbled upon it and I would recommend it to anybody visiting Cologne for a few days.

(Translated by Google) Because of Corona and the current winter time, it is not so nice unfortunately it is not so beautifully colorful and everything is gray a lot with the construction site unfortunately also because the garden shed is being renovated and Corona only makes it difficult to walk around I hope that the spook will soon end And then of course I will change my reviews again after the Corona situation and in the summer there will be no mask requirement as soon as otherwise you will have lost a customer or a guest. But at least it was interesting. I saw a few new plants.

Really lovely shady place to visit in the summer. Many types of trees and shrubs. I imagine it's beautiful when the camelias are in bloom. Lovely water features and red squirrels to admire. Would have given 5 stars but the large tropical house was closed due to rebuilding.

Really good place to spend some time walking and enjoying the view of the garden. A palace like building situates at the center of the garden which was closed during my visit. The entry to the garten is free. Safe place for kids to walk and play around there. Recommended to visit in summer time when all the flowers are bloomed.

Flora and Botanischer Garten Köln is an absolutely beautiful place to visit. The feeling as you enter the front gate and see the beautifully planned and maintained garden with fountain in front of the Flora (an event building) is impactful. The variety of flora and fauna in the park is immense and it is a lovely, peaceful place. If you go, you must visit the lily pond and listen to the frogs that reside there (we were there in late May and you may not be able to hear them year-round). There are many different shaded paths to explore and benches to relax on. We found also a lot of people jogging as it must be a great place to do so.

Right behind the zoo (getting off of Bahn 18) This park is huge!! I brought my own picnic... Sadly I wasn't allowed to sit on the grass... But there are more than enough benches to sit throughout the park in the shadows or with plenty of sun. I've spent a few hours here walking around, sitting & enjoying the view, the calmness... If you're lucky you'll find a quiet place to even meditate! Oh yeah it took me some time to find the exit too 🫣

Great botanical garden and it’s FREE! There are many places to take pictures within the park or picnic. Be advised it’s a botanical garden and you can’t sit or walk on the grassy areas. There’s plenty of benches to sit on. There’s a nice cafe with small dishes in the main building of the garden if you work up and appetite. We spent about an hour to an hour and a half touring the garden. Right next to the zoo. Easiest way to get three is via the 18 to the Zoo Fauna stop.

This small, but animal packed zoo provided a great few hours even in the heat. It was about 87 degrees on a Monday, but there were plenty of trees and shade to stay as comfortable as possible. The zoo is right in the center of the city. In places where you could see the walls- highrises surrounded the beautiful grounds.

The Flora and botanical garden is a very magical place. The garden was created in 1860. Walking around the garden feels like traveling back trough time. It is also a very romantic place, ideally to go on a first date! The romantic and relaxed vibe, create an ideal location to read a book on one of the plenty benches.

Great thing to do on a nice day. Shame you can't touch or sit on some of the sculptures, considering their size and how inviting some of them are, but understandable as it's a rotating gallery of artwork. Really enjoyed it.

  • 4/5 World A. 4 years ago on Google
Without a guide providing explanations the sculptures are certainly more funny than interesting or inspiring and the signs give no insights whatsoever. I still don't understand how a beer tent set or some balls on the lawn are supposed to be art, but that's art for you after all. Some pieces at least are really great and it's definitely a nice walk - especially since it's for free.

(Translated by Google) The sculpture park is always fun. The area is clear. You really manage to take a relaxed look at all the works of art. Some are new, others come from previous exhibitions and change due to wind and weather. The objects that can be experienced are particularly beautiful: see, hear, feel. There was also an object to smell / taste! There is a flyer for every new exhibition (as is admission free of charge!) With some information about the objects. Definitely worth a visit. (Original) Der Skulpturenpark macht immer wieder Spaß.

(Translated by Google) Well, from the photos of other people, I was expecting a lot of different figures, and I found a lot of information signs on the lawn with no 'artworks' present. And I would rather not classify those that were present as works of art. Electric pole as an art object? A huge hole in the ground with a dried abdomen drains away in a glass box at the bottom? A huge plastic cube? There is a security guard on the property who is quite rude. Well, many objects can be approached even by touching! Entering a hole in the ground or sitting on wooden seats is marked with a sign that you do it at your own risk. The problem is, when you pass between objects, you may not notice that an object cannot be approached and suddenly I heard a bodyguard scream. The only thing I liked was the seats made of trees, from huge to tiny ones. But that's not enough to recommend this park as an attraction worth seeing. We were alone in the park that day. Otóż do wielu obiektów można podjeść nawet dotknąć!

The Botanical Gardens Flora of Cologne is a wonderful set of gardens in the north west of the city and very easy to reach by tram. As soon as you enter, you're presented with an amazing view of an Italian style garden that ends with the Palace of the Botanical Gardens. The rest of the botanical gardens is laid out fairly irregularly with lots of paved walkways. Though not quite as irregular as English gardens, there's not fixed shaped to the themed gardens within. It's a real pity the tropical gardens was undergoing renovations. It's still worth a visit if you have time and feel like a walk in pleasant surroundings.

Nice stroll and perfect opportunity for nature photography. Sadly when we went they were building a new greenhouse so the greenhouses were closed. When they finish the new greenhouse though. It will probably be amazing.

We visited the garden on our bike tour. Free entrance to the garden, free toilets also. Very relaxing to visit, you can really escape here from the busy city center.

Great park, even during winter. A large botanical greenhouse is currently under construction, expected to be finished in 2022. Free toilets are available on site.

I recommend eating here! You take packed food in the central building and you can enjoy it anywhere in the park. There's a lot of benches everywhere, and also a lot of animals who aren't really scared of people.

Very beautiful garden. Highly recommend to visit if you are in Köln. The garden is free and well organized. You can have a relaxing walk inside. It’s not too hot in summer neither because there are trees along with the paths.

One of the best gardens in Cologne, there is no entrance fee. If you would like to visit this botanic garden, you have to save at least 2 hours from your day. The best time to visit is spring season, especially in April and May. However, if you have time to visit in Autumn, October and November are also good months. There are so many different flowers and plants around the garden and descriptions are totally satisfied (both Germany and English).

Free entry currently, but all but one of the glasshouses are closed for renovation. Excellent walk all the same, huge range of plants and well-curated-- don't miss the ponds with lilypads and frogs, and the colour-coordinated beds! Also note, garden is open until 9pm but the glasshouses close at 6pm.

I like Parks and Botanical Gardens, and this botanical garden is a nice one. It tuck me around 2 hours to do the tour, including few breaks; so it might take you more, if additional relaxation time, within the garden, is sought. The most interesting part was the large pond area with the geese; really enjoyable, with few spots to relax around; the tiny waterfall is also nice. The most annoying part was the small frog pond; hearing the sound of the frogs, I had the impression that they are trapped and they needed more space!

Nice botanical Gardens, parts of it seem to be closed at the minute but still plenty to see and walk around. Nice cafe for a drink also.

Beautiful gardens. Some areas fenced off for building work. Nice plants, well kept borders. Free to enter as well.
