This is a ripoff. I’m a loyal Radisson member (Gold). We received a room that is way below the standard I am used to. Very noisy / bad isolation with the floor above. Also, there was a problem with the sewage. I reported it to maintenance but basically half of the room was a pool for the entire night. Luckily I stayed only one night. The absurd is that I asked for late checkout (benefit I’m eligible to). They said it’s fully booked - so meaning they were planning to rent it out to another victim while being fully aware of the troubles. 140 euros for this (+23 e breakfast per person ) - ridiculous. I will not stay with this hotel in the future.

The hotel is well located, 15 minutes walking from central station. The service was good. There is a space-bar to have some drinks. The room is big enough and the bed is comfortable.

My two laptops (MacBook + Windows Surface) got stolen. I stayed 24 hours in this hotel. In the morning I closed my room and I went to have breakfast. I left my room unwatched for just 1 hour. In this 1 hour slot, someone was cleaning the room. When I got upstairs, my two laptops with all of my work, were stolen. Answer of the hotel: we can’t do anything about it. Call the police if you like. BE AWARE: STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL

I loved the interior of the rooms, the colour and the painting. It was really pleasant! The breakfast served at the hotel is quite hearty and it's just 5 minutes drive from the Köln main train station adding up to further convenience

Good hotel with a very well-equipped gym. There are dumbbells ranging from 12 to 22kg and a machine which somehow puts every machine you could find in a gym into single one.

Excellent location and lovely view from our bedroom. I found it really cool that you could stand above the Rhine and look towards the Christmas Market. Definitely a highlight of our vacation. Staff is really friendly and helpful too. The only two things that could have been better was breakfast as the bread rolls/croissants and pain au chocolate were really hard by 08:45/09:00. Think it’s a shame as I did enjoy having breakfast next to the Rhine. And the room was way too warm 🥵 We left the window open all night but still couldn’t sleep properly.

Hotel was fine and staff generally friendly. Room was clean, but fairly noisy. Breakfast was good. Unfortunately somebody broke into my car in the hotel’s parking garage and stole various items. The hotel does not close the gate to the garage so literally anybody can just walk into the garage. There is not proper surveillance (CCTV only at the entrance) and staff did not even bother looking at the footage and they had. If you do not close a gate, at least have proper CCTV surveillance.

We stayed for two nights to visit the Christmas markets and found location wise it was okay. There’s a small Christmas market located behind the hotel across the bridge which is lovely. The other major market was roughly 15 minutes to walk. The tram station is also a short walk away which takes you into the main town where the shopping centre is. We booked a twin room but received a double instead. We weren’t too fussed so stuck with it. The room was spacious and comfortable but lacked plug sockets. Only one side of the bed had plugs and the others were across the room. The television was also not international friendly in a sense there was only one channel available with no English subtitle option. The tea and coffee selection was okay as were the bathroom soaps. Another downside to the room was that the walls are incredibly thin and so we could hear a lot of noise outside the room. I wouldn’t recommend it to light sleepers or those on a business trip needing a quiet room. There was also only 1 elevator working meaning longer waits to get up and down from the lobby. Overall the hotel is okay for a short stay but I would not recommend anything longer than a night or two or for families. It is good for Christmas markets !

The first room they gave us smelled like someone had recently been smoking inside of it. After we left, they refused to return some clothing that we left in a closet. Goodbye very nice North Face jacket.

I think this hotel deserves a two star considering the price (almost 200 e a night). The location isn’t great; the sauna is a dissappointment; no showers in the sauna. The rooms are clean and have basic design with minimum standards. The sink was outside the bathroom, which we found inconvenient. Our room which was suopposed to have a Rhine view, did not exactly have the Rhine river view, but a building blocking it. The check in wasn’t so friendly; the woman was insisting that the sauna hours are until 9 even if the website said 10. We will not stay there again and do not recommend it.

The check in was a little slow because of only one employee and a lobby full of guests. However our room was ready about 1 1/2 hrs early. Once we entered we were lucky to have a corner room and have tons of windows. The feature wall between the shower and bedroom was pretty cool! There was tons of storage and our bed was really comfy. The location was ok. We did not pay for the breakfast up front so we paid for it at the hotel at check out. If we had known it was around 20€ we would have not gotten it. We are from USA and not use to most the items plus had two 6 year olds. 80€ for some lattes, orange juice and pastries. A bit over priced.

Stayed for three nights at 300 euro per night and the AC was just spewing out hot air even though I complained. Had to open the window but there was so much noise from the streets i could not sleep. The one good thing was the breakfast and the cleanliness.

Lady at the reception (small, black haired woman) is a sociopath and I don't know how anyone in their right mind could place her in a customer service position. Very ill-tempered, rude and unfriendly. On two consecutive days she offended me and my wife and made us responsible for a clear mistake on the hotel's behalf - very disappointing. Shower and power socket in our room was a bit problematic, but otherwise a good hotel room. Fantastic location, breakfast was decent, bar + breakfast staff friendly, but unfortunately never again due to the unprecedented disrespect that we faced at the reception. Beware: Parking is also a huge issue! (This is especially annoying because we chose this hotel for its promised parking options)

Excellent location and spacious, nicely decorated, modern rooms. Very quiet. The problem we had was with the air conditioning not cooling at all. A fifth floor room immediately below the flat roof accumulating the heat of a day of sunshine. While only 20 degrees Celsius outside, when coming back to the room at 22:00 the room temperature could not be brought down, causing an uncomfortable night sleep.

What I love the most about this hotel is the location. Breakfast was good too. As long as it's not full booked, I always stay in this hotel when I visit Cologne!

  • 3/5 Ashleigh N. 9 months ago on Google
They say they have air conditioning, they do not. There is a fan that can run but it will not cool down the room. The only option is to open the windows - but you are downtown so you will be woken up by sirens. Other than that they have amazing service, the staff is fantastic, the location is very central to everything, the room was clean and spacious. Just don’t think you will be comfortable temperature-wise in the summer Edit: The hotel replied to my review, so I want to back them up on what they said, when the windows were closed the noise was none existent! There sounds protection is close to perfect.

Art’otel is a nice concept situated in a very good area nearby the city center. The hotel is by the water and easy to get to. The hotel room was nice and comfortable. But the service could be better : - the parking of the hotel is not free and rather expensive. - the people at the reception weren’t super nice and not very friendly. A smile and a little help from the receptionists when asked could add a lot more value and it costs nothing. Good experience on the overall but could be improved.

This is a fabulous hotel located 15 min walk to the nearest tram stops. On arrival, the two gents on reception could not find our booking (lastminute.com package....never again ! ) And we were both really worried at the possibility and hassle of having to find another hotel for our 4 night stay. First off, let me say that this confusion was not to do with the hotel, but entirely with lastminute.com being useless.....so.....I'm going to single out the manager on front desk, Kalech, who was super calm and very professional in finding us a room. Not only that, but it was a Rhine facing room, and he also included breakfast for us both for our stay, it's so nice to see someone who takes pride in there job, and remains calm and professional when faced with an issue like ours. As for the hotel, there were some lovely touches that make a stay more enjoyable, flavoured water in reception, a free coffee machine, rooftop terrace, decent gym room with showers and toilet, fully opening ceiling high window in room which is unusual in today's health and safety world ! The shower in room was powerful and always hot.yes it is a tad noisy with window open but you're in a city ! When shut it was pretty well soundproof. Breakfast was good, (thankyou again, Kalech)and ran till midday on the weekend. Hotel is perfectly sited on the river, right next to the chocolate factory and big wheel. A 10 min walk towards the cathedral, there are loads of restaurants and bars and easy access to the trams which are really good value. The hop on/off siteseeing buses, and land train stop right outside the front of hotel. We even did our first escape room which was sited just behind the chocolate factory, quite optimistic as neither of us speak a word of German ! (The girls helped us quite a lot!) All in all, a super place to base yourself for a cologne break, would not hesitate to recommend 👌

We love the location, modern area with various restaurants along the Rhine. Near to Heumarkt and Chlodwigplatz that we love. Our room 302 is stuffy and warm, I can imagine it to be worse in summer, air con is not working well, luckily our corner room has 2 windows to open slightly for ventilation, room can be cleaner, not all toiletries are refilled unless you request. Staff at the reception are not the most polite or welcoming, one of them we spoke to was in fact quite rude. Don’t expect much from this hotel, it feels like a budget stay. A nice touch from this hotel is the free ice cold water for guests at the lobby.

Fantastic hotel with wonderful amenities and staff. Had a minor issue which was quickly addressed. Very close to the chocolate museum. Great for the kids.

  • 4/5 Gary D. 8 months ago on Google
Our family of 5 had an excellent experience. Rooms were large, clean and despite being by the road, totally quiet. Some reviews mention that the air-con isn’t very effective but weather was cool during our stay so wasn’t an issue. The staff were great and quickly sorted out an extra bed without any fuss. The perfect location and would definitely stay again.

Great location for being a jumping off point for seeing Cologne. Great staff. Parking can be a challenge with tight car parks and a €25 fee per day. Other parking options in the area can be better or worse and none are as close as the hotel parking option. I would consider staying here again.

  • 4/5 Richard T. 7 months ago on Google
Hotel is great - air conditioning could be cooler, but that's my only real complaint. Breakfast, although extensive, is quite expensive (and there's a really nice bakery nearby). Service was great with underground, secure parking.

Overall an okay stay here. Expected a bit more from the room in all honesty after how the hotel profiles itself and the pictures they post on Google to show their very best rooms. The room wasn't bad but again, expectations were set too high. Like others mentioned, it does get a little too warm in te room. Entire hotel is very hot. Opening the window lets a huge amount of noise in from passing traffic and trains so not an option. What's really bothersome is that there's no way to park your car for a few minutes in front of the hotel while you get your luggage out and carry your stuff inside. They blocked off the place where this could be done. So now you're standing in a narrow one way street where any car or taxi that needs to be at this hotel gets blocked if you're standing there. Causes check-in to be a bit stressful which is not a good start for a relaxing hotel stay. Staff was friendly. View from the rooftop was nice. No EV chargers at the hotel so had to drive around to find an available one along the streets. Found an available spot at 16 minutes walking distance. Parking for EVs along the public street is free while charging by the way.

Overall good. Location right behind Lindt Schokoladenmuseum and in front of iconic Kranhaus buildings and Rhine, convenient for exploring the city, one can even walk to HBF along the Rhine or take 2 stops with 132/133 bus. Check-in took seconds, very friendly front desk stuff, always smiling, kudos to the team. Room design is very 2010-ish, but very clean and quite spacious for 1 person. Elemis amenities are great BUT the wash basin right in the room is far from it (really inconvenient and never looks good). Lightning is either greenish-yellow when room lights off and hospital white when they are on. Bed lights just fine. Breakfast was great, all the standard items like hashbrowns, baked beans, sausages and scrambled eggs were in place. Another huge plus for Eilles loose tea, simply divine !

Great location, clean bedroom, spacious bathroom and an excellent breakfast! We had some issues with parking and one employee who was very rude, but her colleagues Keller and Etienne were extremely helpful and friendly. Overall a great hotel!

The ratting is because of the attitude in front office when I made checkin, because of the breakfast that is so poor with so less options and low quality, because in the room it looks like you have no privacy, you need to wash you hands, your face and your teeth in front of other, the lavatory is in the room, i don’t know who had the idea but is the worst ever. The good thing what i want to tell about the hotel is the location, you will have a very good sleep because of the pillow and mattress.

I found the room in comparison with other hotels really big, equipped with a glass balcony that has a spectacular view of the river. It was clean und comfortable. The location is good but a bit far away from the old city (about 10-15 minutes away on foot). There is a small but useful gym. There is also a terrace on the top (fifth floor), but sadly without a bar (the bar is in the reception). The price was okay, but the costs for the parking was expensive and not time-adjusted (we had to pay 25€ for everyday, even though we sometimes parked less than 20 hours).

Huge selection of food on the breakfast! (Was not included in the reservation) Perfect atmosphere and very fast internet connection. Big bar in the lobby. Very close to the center of the town. Parking was extra and was not included in the reservation. Overall, it was a very good hotel for my vocation. Gas station was exactly across the hotel, another huge plus.

Decent stay, I didn't have a balcony and that would have made my rating higher. The hotel is a short walk from the old town and city centre. It's close to the Severinsbrücke and has got a good connection to public transport.

Prime location with stunning views from the roof top terrace. Rooms are solid but value for many is not the greatest. It is fairly expensive for what it offers. Check-in/out were a catastrophy with very low service levels. Breakfast has a slim selection only and lots of single-use plastic around.

Comfortable Hotel, good location, just walking distance to the Chocolate Museum, the Cologne ferris Wheel, and Rhein. Room is big, modern and clean. Nice view from the rooftop. But B’fast is disappointing. Not so many choices compare to the price. Overall, it’s good enough Hotel to stay.

Never received insurance payment of €25 back after numerous contact with the hotel. Bathroom is only seperated with a thin see-through screen and the sink is in the bedroom. Also absolutely no regard for covid spread with breakfast; everybody holds the same spatula’s. Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in and the fact that they don’t respond to requests about getting the insurance back is even more shameful. Only good thing about it is the location.

Great hotel. Lovely breakfast with good choice of hot and cold food. Nice coffee machine in the lobby which was a lovely touch. Hotel very clean and staff really up on covid and sanitizing so well done on that.

The views are amazing, the hotel is so pretty, great location and most importantly, dog friendly!!! Staff very kind and nice. Room very clean and big with all the basics like bath towel, slippers, shampoo, mini fridge (empty) etc. Cons. parking is super small so you must use the public one.

Great hotel in a nice area of Cologne. The rooms were very modern with artisitic design as you would expect with the name. The painted glass wall in the shower was really cool. The room itself was perfect. Comfy bed, quality air conditioning, and one of the best hotel showers I've experienced. Great water pressure and plenty of room. There is also plenty of table space which is great for working remotely which we both had to do for part of our stay. The wifi was good, and even though we watched little of it, the tv had plenty of channels, at least a dozen that were of other languages other than German which is handy for tourists. The gym was small but did the trick. Two treadmills, a stationary bike, and an all in one workout machine. There is also a rooftop patio next to the gym entrance which is great to lounge in the sum, and even get a view of the Cathedral in the distance. Due to Covid restrictions some of the lobby features such as the coffee bar were not operating, but fortunately there is a cafe at the chocolate museum next door that opened at 10am, so wasn't too much of an inconvenience. If you need anything earlier, there is a bakery about a 10 minute walk away. Of course the hotel serves breakfast, but at just under €20 each, was a bit too pricey for us. Overall we had a great stay, and I would definitely recommend as it's in a location on the water within a short walk of all the popular tourist spots, but not in the thick of all the tourists.

Every thing is ok but one thing, I asked the reception for a room on the river side and they told me to oay 10€ more for each night. I booked from booking website and they did not mention that!!

Hotel is clean and rooms are big, however I wouldn’t say there is anything standout or spectacular about the place. The extra money for the ‘Rhine View’ room is hardly worth it. Location is good but a little further from the centre. A 10 minute walk so nothing difficult.

High quality hotel! My stay was 5 days long (Mon - Fri) in Jun 2022. The stuff was really friendly and always helpful! All facilities are clean, and then provide the service with care to details. For are really good! They provide you a variety kind of food! Meat, fish, vegetarian, and vegan.

This hotel is not good as it look like. The area of the hotel feels a bit dead, no shops, restaurants or coffee nearby- you need to walk to the city. Even though it look promising from the out side (I liked the concrete design) - it feels like low quality hotel and there Is definitely no proper art there. Notice that they have sauna - but you need to pay for it. The most bigger problem was that the air conditioning wasn’t work in my room and I had the impression this is normal for them, so if you plan to go that hotel in summer- please keep it in mind. The good things - the stuff in the reception was nice and try to be helpful. They give me discount of €30 because I complained about the air conditioning problems - but it really not worth anything considering the entire bad experience.

  • 4/5 John M. 1 year ago on Google
Air conditioning didn't work. Had to request change of room late at night. Moving all our gear, not a great experience. Also, had to pay €48 euro a night to park in the underground carpark. Not sure if the hotel subsidies this but we weren't offered anything or asked. Gym was ok, small but done the job. Again, no air conditioning here and have to pay extra for sauna.

Terrible hotel. Worst customer service from a hotel I’ve ever received. Front office staff is disinterested in providing customer service or solve problems the hotel has created. Due to a staff error, our room was booked in the system as ‘empty’, with the result that someone went into our room, and when we returned to our room, our door appeared unlocked. Front office staff guaranteed I’d definitely get a response to my many complaints about this horrible stay ‘by Monday morning latest’. It’s been near-two weeks. Nothing. Stay away from this hotel if you actually want a decent hotel experience. This hotel doesn’t even deserve 1 star.

It's a lovely hotel. The rooms are large, beautiful and tidy, great taste in design. The personal was also very nice. It was one of the best hotel experience, especially for the fact that they helped me having gluten-free items, for my celiac disease.

Hotel was overall ok. Sadly I wish I could add more to this but I was disappointed with the overall condition and setup of the room. First, the lighting was very dull in the room and wasn't able to really have healthy lighting on a cloudy day or at night. Second, the upkeep of the room was very subpar. There were spider webs in evert window corner and the inside balcony which I upgraded to was not upkept. I had to knock down spider webs to even see off the balcony which was not expected. Lastly, the bathroom was not adequate or upkept. The sink is updated which has a slit on the center of an angled sink which is nice on the eye but when washing your hands or face for more than 5 seconds, the water builds up and takes forever to drain out. This was when more difficult for brushing teeth. The location was ok but if you plan to enjoy city center be prepared to use lots of Ubers because the busses stop after a certain hour so you may not be able to get back and forth vs if you were in the city center. The area around the hotel is nice. The chocolate museum is right behind the hotel and a nice view of the Rhine River, also a known Italian restaurant is behind the hotel as well right off the water. Overall, the hotel is decent but please be aware of the above observations. Staff was great btw! You also have an option to have your bags stored securely if you come in before your room is ready.

I do not recommend staying at this hotel, as Covid is being used as an excuse to not have housekeeping service rooms on a daily basis. At the same time, the hotel does not take Covid seriously because staff do not wear face masks. It is an obvious attempt at cost-cutting. And the public areas on the fourth floor are not vacuumed frequently and there are stains on the wall in front of the two elevators. When I requested clean towels, because housekeeping doesn't service rooms, I was told to come to the front desk myself to collect them. Checking in at this hotel was cumbersome as well because I prepaid for my room and the front desk associate seemed confused as to why the room was already paid for. He had to ask a colleague to finish checking me in. The colleague was much friendlier but checking in took over 15 minutes, which was infuriatingly long. I do not like Radisson hotels all that much, and next time I am in Köln, I'll stay at the Hyatt. The Hyatt in Köln is a much nicer property in a better location with friendly staff. This hotel should be avoided.
