Stunning
green
oasis
in
the
middle
of
bustling
city!
One
of
the
most
beautiful
botanical
gardens!
I
do
love
botanical
gardens
and
this
one
in
Bonn
is
one
of
the
best
ones
I
have
visited!
The
beauty
starts
with
an
entrance
where
the
pond
is
located
displaying
stunningly
colorful
water
lilies
and
the
backside
of
the
mineralogy
museum
(it
was
under
scaffolding
during
our
visit).
In
front
of
the
glasshouse
entrance
many
Australian
and
African
trees
are
situated
sitting
in
large
pots,
some
I
have
never
seen
before
like
Banksia
serrata.
Several
greenhouses
with
different
flora
are
to
be
visited
(rainforest,
monsoon,
desert
house
and
many
others)
but
one
of
them
is
an
absolut
hidden
gem
-
The
victoria
glasshouse
hiding
the
giant
water
lily
unfolding
its
mighty
leaves
around
the
pond.
It
is
almost
unbelievable
to
see
such
a
huge
plant.
Here
you
can
also
see
Amorphophallus
titanum -
the
plant
that
smells
like
rotting
corpses
when
blooming.
Right
behind
the
glasshouses
the
carnivorous
garden
can
be
found
-
another
impressive
element
of
the
gardens
not
to
be
missed.
The
reason
why
I
loved
it
so
much
was
how
the
plants
were
displayed
-
in
large
concrete
pots
combined
with
heather
plants,
rocks
and
wood
-
it
looked
like
a
miniature
garden,
very
picturesque.
The
outside
part
of
the
gardens
were
very
well
maintained
and
it
was
possible
to
walk
not
only
on
the
main
paths,
but
in
between
flower
beds
as
well.
Fountains
and
lakes
were
great
additions
to
already
perfect
gardens
and
it
was
beautiful
to
see
animals
such
as
birds
and
ducks
enjoying
the
gardens
as
well.
I
also
appreciated
the
samples
of
cones
and
seeds
that
were
attached
to
trees,
so
visitors
could
have
an
idea
of
what
they
look
like
from
up
close.
The
entrance
fee
was
3
euro
however
we
didn’t
pay
anything
even
though
we
visited
on
Sunday,
when,
based
on
the
website,
you
have
to
pay
to
get
in.
Tea
house
located
on
the
west
part
of
the
garden
seems
like
a
lovely
place
to
chill
in
the
afternoon,
unfortunately
we
didn’t
have
time
to
visit.
Apparently
great
guided
tours
are
available,
unfortunately
only
in
German
language.
Located
in
walkable
distance
from
the
train
station
and
city
center.
3
major
highlight
for
me:
Seeing
the
gigantic
Victoria water
lilies
in
the
glasshouse
Admiring
the
amazing
Australian
plant
called
Banksia
serrata
Seeing
the
carnivorous
gardens
in
concrete
pots
