I'm writing this review to share my terrible and unsafe experience at the waterpark, particularly for tourists like myself. We initially bought our tickets online, only to be informed by the front desk staff that they were unable to scan tickets from a phone and required a physical copy. They then directed us to print the ticket upstairs for a euro. Despite expressing that we only had a card and no cash, we received no prior information about their cash-only policy. Frustratingly, the staff member scanned the printed ticket with ease, something she could've done with the phone, leading me to believe that we were misled into paying a euro unnecessarily. The park is in dire need of renovations. The majority of its features were rusty and the overall condition was far from impressive. Perhaps it was an attractive spot in the 2010s, but it's evident that regular updates are crucial for maintaining customer satisfaction. Another point of dissatisfaction was that we bought access to both swimming pools and saunas, but the website failed to mention that the saunas were for nude use only. As someone uncomfortable with such a setting, I felt as if I paid for a service I didn't use. Additionally, the reception staff was impolite, raising their voice while explaining that such a setup was acceptable for Germans. Although this might be common knowledge to locals, as a tourist, I was caught off guard due to a lack of clear information on their website. We also tried out the waterslides, specifically the Aquaconda, which proved to be alarmingly dangerous. There was no staff member regulating the number of people on the slide at any given time, and this, combined with reckless behavior by some of the park's younger patrons, resulted in a highly dangerous situation. We collided with several others on the slide due to a lack of organization and oversight. Following this incident, the slide was shut down after two hours, citing another issue. Lastly, the placement of the smoking area was abysmal. The door of the smoking area opened directly into the indoor water slide area, filling it with smoke. As a non-smoker, I found this extremely off-putting, and I was surprised to see that this was the area where most children congregated. Thankfully, I purchased discounted tickets. If I'd paid full price, I would have demanded a refund. In summary, this waterpark left a lot to be desired. It's run-down, the staff is unhelpful, and it reeks of cigarette smoke. Plus, the waterslides are rusty. I would not recommend it.

UPDATE: renovation in taking place. Nice bar in the pool. Get a token at the cash register. No cash in the water. Quality is rising. The food was hot and tasty. Looking forward to the new reopening. See pictures for a quick look. Nice location to take a dive. Location is in the middle of a renovation. The old interior really needs an update. Have enjoyed this location a lot. Be aware. Drinks in the restaurant are quite expensive.

This place is a really good. To spend time with family for the summer or on the weekend. So many waterslides never gets busy. Short wait and a lot of fun... Generous menu in restaurants and for reasonable prices. We will be back. Thank You 😊 Aqualand

Unfortunately this swimming pool was a bit disappointing. Due to the high price (€24 for 4 hours) our expectations were high but they were not satisfied. The pool can be quite busy and during the whole afternoon there was a penetrant urine-smell near all toilets and changing rooms, the hygiene was not up to standard. Furthermore, the pool itself is quite dated, missing tiles, things not working, etc. There are a few wellness amenities available but because there are so many people (including children) it’s not really possible to relax. I would not advise to visit this pool.

This place seems famous among Luxembourgers (like Phantasialand) so I visited to go see for myself. First good thing, the parking is free and its right next to the highway. The building looks nice and stylish. I took a 4h pass (~30€) for the pool & slide area only (wellness and sauna area is extra), and got a wristband. The unisex changing rooms were spacy and regularly cleaned. Showers are clean, though there was some maintenance going on. The water park was at medium capacity I'd say (arrived at 12 o'clock). The large main dome had many long chairs to sit down. There was also an unusual large amount of whirlpools/Jacuzzi spots, which I liked. The dome features a nice pool that winds around, I thought the water was a bit turbid though (but thats honestly the case in almost every public pool). Also there was lots of hair, especially in the pools where the waterslides end. The Erlebnisgrotte was nicely themed, though it was rather chilly since maintenance was going on. The steam room was nice though. On the other side there is another grotto but with a hot water pool, that one was pretty popular and always packed. The outdoor pool was cool, check out the salt water pool. Although I wish the salt water pool would be accessible from the indoor area. The slide dome already looks impressive: its like a maze of slides inside. All slides were 0-7min waits. The trapdoor loop slide was always a walk-on, I guess people were too scared haha. I enjoyed it (also witnessed a few guys getting rescued from the escape hatch). Aquaconda was pretty cool especially with its uphill sections (rare in Germany). The double slide was ok, but nothing extraordinary. The Canyon slide was much more fun and thrilling than expected. Red star was surprisingly fun and fast. The bowl slide was also fun. I loved the Boomerang, very thrilling little thing. I also checked the new Rutschen-Dschungel which is cool but more for younger folks. I managed to get 4-8 rides on each slide For lunch I had a currywurst and a slushy, price/quality was ok. Though I wish they'd update their payment method for the restaurant and poolbar, like its in some other places: wristband scanned when buying something and then paying when leaving the park. So you dont need to get your wallet out of your locker. I totally recommend visiting this place, though check beforehand to avoid school holidays and weekends. This place can get packed, loud and rowdyish when you are there at the wrong time

Great spa with many fun water slides. Very nice and kids friendly pools. The only unpleasant thing there were the staff. Starting from the angry two women at the cashier desk through the restaurant personnel. Only because of their rudeness 1 star less from the top.

I can say me and my family enjoyed every minute of this place. Overall clean, food and drink are Great! The staff very friendly and helpful. So many choices of where to swim. I can say it is truly a wonderful place. The only fix I would recommend is staff at slide rides for the first ride with the single and double yellow tube ride. There was many people not sharing the tubes. With a staff member there many of the costumers would be able to enjoy themselves. Other than that it is truly a wonderful place!

For students it is beneficial to go on a Thursday cause of the 50% discount you get. There is a laser show at 8 pm but it's nothing too special. They play the most common German songs during that show. But the rides are super fun and you can definitely have a good time.

Nice swimming pool with cool slides. Clean, bit cold outside of water. Employees speak only german and not everyone is nice (i look at you middle aged lady in glasses and children's hair clips). What broke me was the local people. On the photo is line of locals at 8.30...aqualand opens at 9.00. You can not reserve so you need to stand in 2 hour line.

it could be a good place, but i have to say you better limit the number of tickets or make the price lower. i spent more than 60 euro, 2 adults and 1 7-year-old kid, but it was just full of people on monday in the afternoon, can't imagine what will happen in the weekend. swimming pools are not big enough for those amount of people, also it was very hard to find a chair inside and outside. for the slides you heve to wait such a long time so i gave up. water was quite dirty especially outside. did not try the food but just normal things, drinks were ok. i can understand everyone wants to come here now in summer, so as i said, either limit the number of tickets or lower the price. it's like taxi or bus, when it's full of people and you can't even find a seat, the price should be better. some is saying that everything is old, for me that's not a big problem. if everyone can have some more space and keep the water clean, that price is ok then.

It has some decent slides but the swimming side of it is not good. My rating might have been higher if I had used the slides. The main issue I had with the place is the couples. I am not a big hater of PDA but everywhere you turn there are couples getting it on. It actually felt quite seedy at times and some couples do more than snog. Even worse is that those couples tend to be shameless to the point of having extended makeout sessions next to very young children. There is no deep end and not enough space to actually swim. It's just a very small space but honestly in this area it's one of the only choices you have and if you want to visit a waterpark it may be better than nothing.

After reading mixed reviews, we arrived with slight trepidation. We were pleasantly surprised by what we found and spent a great 6+ hours today at Aqualand, a rainy 21 degree Thursday after a mini heatwave. The rides are all great fun. The pool has multiple areas and the water is a good temperature. Compared to queues we have experienced at other water parks, the queues were short. (They would have been even shorter if people learned how to queue like the British and wait their turn). There was not a great deal of lifeguards about (we are used to attendants at the top and bottom of all slides at home, as well as around the pool but here there was only one at the drop slide and an occasional wandering guard around the pools) which wasn’t a huge deal, but I wouldn’t have been comfortable to leave my children in the water without me as there was a lot of boisterous play (not complaining, we were having our own boisterous fun too). The river rapids were a bit rubbish and there is no waves. My husband got stuck on a few rides due to the friction from his rash vest and we all got stuck on the typhoon ride! The food was reasonably priced, the drinks a touch expensive. The changing areas were clean. There is some visible rust on struts of rides and flaky paintwork, but nothing I haven’t seen at other parks. We would have no hesitation to revisit.

No lifeguards on the top and bottom of slides. My sister was injured on the first slide that she tried. After we even didn’t take a risk to ride other slides cause we observed a real uncontrolled chaos there. We visited water parks in the USA before and I never expected to meet such disregard of safety rules in German one. It is really dangerous. People ride slides one by one, nobody controls the process, people get stuck inside the slides and hurt each other. After they swim in common pools with bleeding wounds. Band aids provided in first aid are not water resistant. A lot of people in the pools jumping and diving on children’s heads, lifeguards don’t care. They stand back to the pool chatting with other staff instead of watching their water. But still waterpark has enough staff who watches thoroughly guests don’t use their phones that is senseless in digital 21st century. But this is a policy of water park and we must accept it, it’s okay. But lack of lifeguards and their incompetence is unacceptable!

Very cool and great family experience in this swimming pool. Great slides from easy to heavy. 1 fall slide. Good food restaurant. Little expensive but worth it. No tickets in advance available.

We were on our way back from France and this was a welcome surprise and reward to our family after so many hours in the car before. Our kids (10 and 12) enjoyed the slides and we had a good time together. However, having been in some bigger Aquaparks in Europe elsewhere I agree to the comments from other reviews - the place needs a makeover. We went there on a weekday around 6 pm and it was busy but not crowded.

(Translated by Google) Our visit to Aqualand Cologne was very frustrating. In the morning there was a long queue at the entrance. You cannot buy or reserve tickets in advance. In the evening we returned, then there was no queue at all. An employee told us that the pool would be full for the whole day and that we could not enter anymore. Just when we want to leave and leave the entrance, another queue is formed and people are still allowed into the pool. Because of this we had to wait a long time while we were actually the first at the entrance before. In addition, the security officer was very unfriendly to me when we let in. I can understand that a limited number of visitors is allowed due to the corona virus, but then the entrance must be well organized and visitors must be informed fairly. Still one star for the excellent swimming pool.

The place was fully packed, but still quite nice. We didn't have free chairs to sit on, so we left earlier than planned. There are pools with different water temperatures, bubble pools, saunas, and hot spots. Lunch was also nice, there is fresh food, but all fat and fast food. The kitchen staff is nice, cashiers also nice.

Horrible experience for a female visitor. There are almost no lifeguards at the slides so people will try to skip in front of you. Apparently other visitors don't believe in personal space as I was pushed several times and little children kept crashing into me halfway down a slide. One of my friends ended up with a bleeding elbow because a group of childish men kept waiting in the middle of the slide so people would crash into them. While I was waiting for my friends in the main pool area, groups of men AND middle schoolers kept bothering me and making me uncomfortable, I ended up sitting on a chair crying one hour into my visit because I felt so horrible. Not worth the money at all because the floor and the chairs are very dirty as well. Never coming here again, would give zero stars if possible.

Went there yesterday for the first time. At first glance it seems really small but it has a lot to offer. The reason I can only give it 3 stars is because it’s soooo outdated and looks rundown. There are amethyst stones everywhere which makes you wonder who would ever come up with it?! Rust due to lack of paint or no maintenance is also something that gives it an outdated look. The fact that 3 out of 7 slides were under construction was a big disappointment! Also the jets for the water rapids were not turned on the whole time we stayed there.

  • 3/5 Sadeq Q. 5 months ago on Google • 11 reviews
Gratuitously expensive without living up to essential criteria. The main purpose of the swimming pool is, off course, swimming! But in such a shallow anf crowded water? Kidding! But if one is interested in sauna and jacuzzi, it's a perfect place to go. The price, however, as mentioned, is is prohibitingly high.

Don't get me wrong, once you are inside it is great! But before that, the queueing was disastrous! The biggest problem is that people with e-tickets have to wait in the same line as the people wishing to purchase paper tickets! And the vendor machines that accept oni cash (one only coins even ) is a joke. What about invest a bit on digitalisation so to be less 2010?

Holidaying in Germany with a group of friends we decided to visit Aqualand. I was a bit dubious after reading the reviews but we greatly enjoyed our visit. The pools were clean and well maintained, we saw staff regularly testing the chemical levels in the pools to keep them clean. Toilets and changing rooms were also kept clean all day, I did notice the smell mentioned in previous reviews, I believe it to be coming from the drain at the bottom of the stairs leaving the pool area which I appreciate is out of the control of staff to fix and is contained to that one small area. We found the slides to be incredibly fun even if the drop slide wasn’t working on our visit, we did have to queue for them occasionally but as it’s the school holidays we expected this. We did not however queue to enter the facility. The only negative I can find was that there are not enough sunbeds outside to go around, it would be helpful if staff enforced a policy to not allow guests to hold sunbeds when not in use. Whilst I was able to secure one, I noticed a large number of sunbeds being reserved with towels on them in which no returned to. If staff regularly removed towels and prevented people from reserving them there would be more to go around for when people actually want to use them.

The quality / price of this place is very bad. It was really shocking the lack of marketing strategy in the Gastronomie area. If you want to drink in the pool bar, you need to ask for a different arm band at the restaurant, and charge it with the money you want to consume (+ 5€ deposit). The restaurant closes before the bar, so if you don't return the arm band on time you won't get your money back. Also, the place is small and dirty. Your goal as a business is to sell and ensure your clients a good time. Don't put such "effort" to achieve otherwise.

Very large and noisy park. Not very clean due to this. Sauna area is impressively large, lots of baths, just missed enough showers.

(Translated by Google) I can understand that the current Corona situation is a challenge for everyone, but that's exactly why you should rely on organization that you can forget here. Every other bathroom manages to have an online reservation so that you can be sure that you can get in and that the whole way (3 hours with us) and the cost of the trip were not in vain. But Aqualand prefers to rely on the early bird catches the worm principle. For people who live further away and do not make it earlier, especially by bus and train, this is quite marginalized. Furthermore, when we arrived we were sent straight away because the queue was already full, but shortly before we were able to see some who passed the queue and stood in the middle of it. The only thing the employee said was that nothing can be changed about it. And that we should move away and not be allowed to stand here until I have pointed out to the employees that this is still the public pedestrian path. After 3 hours waiting with the hope that they have miscounted or that customers will come out earlier, maybe to come in after all, especially because we were told that if the clouds clear, the intake will be increased by 200. Did the security say that we should disappear, or he has to call the police, and after 10 seconds, where we have not yet left, due to looking for things together or waiting for others, it was repeated again that if we are not gone, the police are brought in. So this way of dealing with its customers is simply incomprehensible, just because of this state of emergency security does not have to lose its courtesy, especially when you consider that they represent the company and are currently talking to customers. So if you are looking for organizations and customer friendliness you are definitely wrong here!

And none of those who actually checked at 9:10 was the traffic light system already on red. Why there is no online sale that is probably the question many who have come from further away today and that there is no information outside I do not know either and the security staff cannot answer any question so unfortunately it is not a good service. Unfortunately, the last time there, mass brawls with anti-social guests and security - in the middle of the bathroom where families with children were. 85 percent of foreign guests, 55 percent of whom do not behave and have no consideration. Pity! I'm a foreigner myself, but how the crowd behaves is bitter. It is better to increase the prices by 15 euros so that some cannot afford it. (Translated by Google) Very bad choice of employees / secruity !! We were asked to wear a mask in the parking lot (which is not a problem in itself) but the staff from the security company Volov does not wear a mask. After I asked him to wear them too, he became palpable and threatening! Insolent behavior Aqualand did not show itself to be reasonable either and we were banned from entering the home for life. Because of his behavior, it was an occasion for other bathers to leave the swimming pool. (Original) Sehr schlechte Wahl an Mitarbeitern/Secruity!! They are managing the COVID restrictions really well. I went with my husband and child, the restrictions did not ruin the experience and we all had a good time. The slides are good for kid from 6yrs upwards. The baby's and small children have a lovely dedicated small children area and they can play in the bigger pool with parents. Highly recommended for families

Honestly one of the best family days out in cologne. They have a great small children swimming area and the great selection of slides for children from 6yr+, including adults. There are plenty of jacuzzis and plenty of areas to relax by yourself without too much disturbance. For sports fans, they also have a giant TV screen which can be viewed from the pool, it was playing sky sports when we visited.

The bath is very fun and good. Some of the staff is not very friendly. We would like to eat somewhere else because the food there is not very good. But we bought a combi ticket for the bath and the wellness area. But we could not leave the build and come back to use the wellness ticket. But other then that we did have a very nice day at the swimming pool. The slides are very good and we would return here.

Simply disappointed. The Covid organization is awful. The oneway system is just useless. we entered the water on the “wrong” side and the staff (who came closer to us, without a mask, than any other guest the whole day) pulled us out of the pool even though nobody else was near us and told us we had to walk around the whole facility to enter the pool from the other side. But once you are in the pool, all the sections are connected and everyone is mixed together anyway. The changing area people are freely walking around and social distancing on their own. We’ve all been living with Covid since March, we know to keep our distance and not to spit in other people’s mouths. The personal in the pool area were rude to many guests, their frustration with the new guidelines showed with the ill treatment. Just being a little nicer to the paying guests makes all the difference. We’ve gone to a few different swimming pools since Covid with better safety protocols. The “restaurant” is simply Imbiss food, a few items on the menu weren’t available for no explained reason. not expecting 5 star quality, but should be better for the prices. The payment system really needs an update, the entry wristband opens and locks the cabinets, but not to purchase food. So having to walk all the way back around the pool to get cash/card to pay is such a hassle since you then have to bring it back to the lockers. The few slides they have are alright, nothing special, cute little kids area is a plus. It’s an ok water park, but no interest from this group to make a return trip. Apologies for such a long rant, but people should have a realistic overview rather than just pretty pictures on the website, especially when you drive 2hrs specifically to come here!
