If you are in Maharashtra then you should visit this temple in Kolhapur. You will have a really good experience and you can see the structure of the temple which is made by carving thousands of stones in very detailed way to make sculptures of the gods. You will also get to know the history and art of the ancient people here in this place. A great place to visit.

Beautyful place The temple has been maintained really well It was very peaceful. Before visiting this temple you have to apply for online pass which also make you mention the timings for your visit. We are not allowed to take anything inside the temple. I feel so blessed and happy after visiting it

It’s amazing divine temple of Shree Maha Laxmi, it’s situated in the heart of Kolhapur city and usually it’s hard to find the parking near the temple, we have parked our vehicle little far and took walk to temple. Even when we enter at surroundings of temple one can feel positive vibes. Stall owners around the temple are little arrogant. The queue system is good and one have to take E-Pass to enter the temple, which is good and bad too, for people who cannot operate cell phone or don’t know how to get pass it’s hectic to for them to enter the temple. Also children not allowed inside the temple which is strange cause it’s hard to keep child waiting outside with someone, it’s being said that it’s measures taken amid COVID spread, but it’s not good idea. It’s extremely inconvenient. Inside the sanctum we got darshanam of goddess, the temple is well maintained and surrounding is also neat and clean. One should definitely visit this place to have blessings of the divine.

It's one of the very old and prestigious temples in Maharashtra. Visiting there is a divine and spiritual experience. As it is situated in the middle of the city it gets crowded on weekends. Parking space is available nearby but it's limited. I would suggest to visit the temple in morning.

It is kept up nicely and is clean. Four doors are provided for people's convenience and to aid in crowd control. There are numerous restaurants near the temple, especially those that specialise in apes. The location exudes a powerful vibe. Beautiful architect, amazing design...Despite being in the midst of the city, parking is available even though it becomes packed. The temple is still kept up to date by its workers.

Very peaceful place to visit. All the covid norms are followed here. These days e-pass is required to enter the temple premises. Process to avail e-pass is quite simple, you can prebook your visit online or avail e-pass from tge service desk available at the temple premises. Cleanliness: 3/5 Security: 3/5 Parking space availability: None

Mahalaxmi temple of Kolhapur is one of the auspicious temple for Hindus. In covid time you first need booking to visit this temple. You can book and get your e-darshan pass on their website Mahalakshmi Temple🛕 (also known as Ambabai Mandir) is an important Hindu temple dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi,🕉️who reside here as Mahalakshmi and is worshipped by locals as Ambabai. Goddess Mahalakshmi is the consort of Lord Vishnu. It is customary among Hindus to visit Tirumala Venkateswara Temple, Kolhapur Mahalakshmi Temple and Padmavathi Temple as a yatra (pilgrimage). It is believed that visiting these temples as a pilgrimage helps achieve moksha (salvation).🙌 The temple of the goddess Mahalakshmi was built by karndeva in 634 CE Chalukya reign. Mounted on a stone platform, the murti of the crowned goddess is made of gemstone and weighs about 40 kilograms. The image of Mahalakshmi carved in black stone is 3 feet in height. The Shri Yantra is carved on one of the walls in the temple. A stone lion (the vahana of the goddess), stands behind the statue. The crown contains a five headed snake. Further, she holds a Matulinga fruit, mace, shield and a pānapātra (drinking bowl). In Lakshmi Sahasranama of Skanda Purana, Goddess Lakshmi is praised as "Om Karaveera Nivasiniye Namaha" means "Glory to the Goddess who lives in Karaveera" and as "Om Sesha Vasuki Samsevyaa Namaha" means "Glory to Goddess who is served by Adi Sesha and Vasuki". They are the 119th and 698th names of Lakshmi in Lakshmi Sahasranama. This is also the description mentioned in the Rahasya of Devi Mahatmya. Professor Prabhakar Malshe says, "The name of Karaveera is still locally used to denote the city of Kolhapur".Unlike most Hindu sacred images, which face north or east, the deity faces west (Pashchim). There is a small open window on the western wall, through which the light of the setting sun falls on the face of the image for three days around the 21st of each March and September. There are a number of other shrines in the courtyard to the Navagrahas, Surya, Mahishasuramardini, Vitthal-Rukmini, Shiva, Vishnu, Bhavani and others. Some of these images date back to the 11th century, while some are of recent origin. Also located in the courtyard is the temple tank "Manikarnika Kund", on whose bank is another shrine to Visweshwar Mahadev.

Mahalakshmi Temple (also known as Ambabai Mandir) is an important Hindu temple dedicated to Goddess Bhavani who is called as Goddess Uma or Parvati and is located in the heart of ancient city of Kolhapur, Maharashtra, India. It is one of 51 shaktipeeths according to Devi Purana, one of 18 Mahashaktipeeths as per Sankar Samhita of Skanda Purana and Ashta Dasa Shakti Peetha Stotram. She is the Mulaprakriti Mahālakshmī Devī described in the Shakta text - Prādhānika Rahasya and Shaktas & Shaiva tradition text clearly refered as Bhavani / Parvati as "Karaveera Nivasini" (The Goddess Who lives in Karaveera/Kolhapur).

Historical temple with very beautiful architecture. Feels really very lively and positive over here. Also the market is one of the main tourist attraction. We can get a lot of local products. However, the vehicle parking is quite far, you have to walk till the temple.

KarvirNivasini Shree Mahalaxmi Temple is a must visit, not just for its religious importance but also for the Temple Architecture. The temple committee could do a bit more on the cleanliness aspect. Paid Parking is available outside temple premises, but it could be a problem during peak hours. Public transport is also easily available. Temple premises/surroundings are wheelchair accessible, but I doubt if the temple itself is. Due to COVID restrictions, access to temple is controlled by offering epass, so please apply for one before you visit

This is one of the famous temples to visit in Kolhapur. We visited during the weekend and there was a queue for darshan, however the queue was moving and it was well managed by the authorities. The temple is surrounded by a market where you can go shopping and have some food as well. You can travel to the temple by city bus as well which is cheaper. Backpacks are not allowed inside the temple, and there is a free locker room available to keep the same.

If you love architecture, you must visit this wonderful God’s creation. Even before you enter the temple area, the vibration gets into your system. The temple opened to public after the COVID shut down period, when we visited few days back. This temple attracts millions of people. It was not a surprise to see a huge crowed during our visit. However, we were really surprised to see the wonderful crowed management by the temple authorities. Well organised winding lines, which was fast moving. Though we were on the moving lines for 45 minutes, we did not feel that waiting. Before the entry 2 terminals scanned our ePass and mapped with our Aadhar no. Before you visit, do generate your ePass and carry your Aadhar card. Once you are in, you get just few seconds to see the Mahalakshmi Devi. There are many interesting shops within the temple complex for you to send some time. We have visited this temple many times, and we enjoy every visit.

The Mahalakshmi temple was built in the 7th century by Chalukya rulers and is one of the six abodes of 'Shakti' (Goddess of Power) from where one can attain fulfillment and salvation of desires. Mahalakshmi is also known as Goddess Ambabai and is a revered Goddess among Hindus. The temple enjoys a status of one of the most important pilgrim sites in India. The temple is situated about 5km from the Railway station and Central Bus depot of the city. Near the temple, there is a temple in honor of Goddess Bhavani......

The temple is beautiful and exudes a peaceful and calm atmosphere. It's centrally located and radiates positive vibes. However parking can be an issue. Street parking is available nearby and there is a municipal parking lot, but it can be somewhat hard to find. The municipal parking charges 30 rs for cars. Toilet facilities are also available. It's about a 15-minute walk from the parking lot to the temple. Be cautious of locals who may try to charge 50rs for parking closer to the temple, as the municipal parking is a more cost-effective and trustable option.

Shri Mahalaxmi - Ambabai Temple is a stunning destination, dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi Devi, a prominent Sakthi peetam. The temple's beauty and spiritual aura make it a must-visit. The road trip from Hyderabad to Kolhapur was smooth, taking approximately 11 hours on well-maintained roads. The journey and the divine experience at the temple create a memorable pilgrimage, blending travel comfort with cultural richness.

Temple is little crowdy when we visited as there was long weekend. Management should look for alternatives for parking place as searching for parking is itself a difficult job. We lost nearly 1 hour only for searching parking space. Afterwards It took almost 1.30 hours for darshan. But it was heavenly experience. Must visit place for every devotees.

A must visit temple when in Kolhapur. Mahalaxmi Mandir is famous not only in the city or state of Maharashtra but pan India. It holds a significant historical and archeological value. One needs an entire day to observe and study the intricate work done on the stone using a hammer and chisel. Every creation is mindblowing. Not only the exterior, but interiors are equally fascinating with the pillars giving one a feel of the legacy this temple offers. The premise is clean and people are friendly. Getting e-pass is child's play. Anyone from the many shopkeepers or helpdesk will guide you.

The Shri Mahalakshmi (AmbaBai) Temple of Kolhapur in Maharashtra, India, is one of the 18 Shakti Peethas listed in various puranas of Hinduism. The temple is of special religious significance and is considered to be a place where Shakti (Energy of the Supreme Lord) manifests and as one of only six sacred houses of Shakti where worshipers can either be freed from or granted their longings. She is fondly called Ambabai which means Divine Mother.

This was one of my bucket list places. I had been at and around Kolhapur many times but never had the luck to visit this serene place. The main temple is awesome and an experience to behold. Not much crowded even on Fridays even in the morning. You get to see the main deity Ambabai quite clearly for a minute until you actually stand in front of the deity. It was a mesmerizing experience.

This temple is beautiful and worth a visit. We went on a Tuesday and had to wait in line for about 2 hours, the lines and crowd are well managed though. There are water dispensers and fans at various points along the lines and the Police staff make sure to maintain line discipline. One gripe is that the temple is located in the centre of the town and the traffic doesn't make it very easy. Parking outside the temple is available but is sparse.

Most popular temple in kolhapur. Hosts idols of Goddess Lakshmi, Kali and Saraswati. Has just been opened up for public during Navratri after the covid lockdown. One has to apply for epass and book slot online for darshan at YatraDham.org with limited entries every hour using Aadhar. No offerings allowed except money. Also all kinds of hand baggage including ladies purse cannot be carried inside the temple. Lot of rush and barricading with security is there and you are asked to move quickly bare foot for a long distance and getting time for only a few seconds of darshan.
