I LOVE THIS GYM,,, they keep it EXTREMELY CLEAN and well trained staff are supportive and friendly. Being open 24/7 makes it even more appealing. They have been consistent in improving the gym overall as well. My only complaint is that there are to many people on their phones and on the machines, benches updating their IG or Facebook profiles please address this concern,thank you going forward.

This is the best gym for iron sport and strength training enthusiasts I've ever been to. Equipment is perfect and there's plenty of it. Never have to wait on anything and staff is fully supportive of whatever you're trying to do. Fellow patrons all treat each other with respect. 24 years of weight training in gyms across the USA and the world courtesy of the Army, I've never seen better.

Iron Asylum Kempsville is the perfect place for body building with great lighting and a posing room to get great shots of your progress. Nice open layout lets you see what is available from across the room. Good ratio of machines and free weights as well as a cardio section and tank pathway. The crew are helpful and live the lifestyle so whatever you need help with, they have the answers!

I am a 16yo inline speed skater. I come here with my teammate, and even though we play an abnormal sport, there are plenty of things to challenge us. Along with a good environment and friendly people.

Truly can’t recommend this gym enough! My time in Virginia was short lived but this place was what kept me together. Immaculately clean, friendly staff, equipment is top of the line, inspiring people, and judgement free zone. I am in absolute awe of this place, it’s set a new standard for what gyms should be. Military members beware! I have called numerous times and sent emails to cancel membership due to change of duty station. It’s now a year later and they are still charging me so enjoy your workouts but make sure to be aware.

I love the facility. A good amount of racks, platforms, benches and machines as well as a great aesthetic layout. but it’s come to my attention that with many of my peers as well as myself being in competition prep for the next few months, many of us are forced to train at the other locations that are a bit out of the way. Even when visiting Castleton and Norfolk, there ends up being a wait to use competition powerlifting equipment. Really hoping to see additional competition racks and kilogram plates to aid lifters whom are training to competition standard. Many other powerlifting gyms in Virginia offer this equipment but don’t offer the same level of depth and facility as Iron Asylum. I really believe it would put Iron Asylum definitely at the top as the best gym in Virginia.

I joined this gym in February with the goal of becoming a better version of myself. I wanted to learn what it takes to maintain a healthy lifestyle through strength training. In April I began receiving personal training from Diana Stanback who is not only excellent at what she does but a wealth of knowledge who has helped me along this journey physically and mentally. This gym and it’s team has helped me embrace what I now consider to be self care and helping me to reach my goal. The Iron Asylum community is not only friendly but their facilities are among what I consider to be some of the best I’ve trained in. The journey is not over but so far has been not only eye-opening but educational and we’re getting better with every week.

Absolutely fantastic. Cleanest gym I’ve ever been in by far, best staff, best atmosphere, etc… you say it, this gym probably does it better than anyone else. If you’re thinking about moving gyms, then come here… even if you’re not sure that you want to leave your current gym. Come give this place a shot if you’re even CONSIDERING a new gym. This place is fantastic.

I really enjoy this gym I signed up almost 3 months ago and I’ve never had any bad experiences here! All the staffs are super respectful and chill it feels like I’m just working out with a bunch of family and not some random people😎 I love this gym

I wish there were more gyms like this. People friendly, supportive, and focused. Met great positive people and new friends! I shadow with physical therapy in the gym and they are all just as great. Throughout my life experiences in the fitness environment, this gym is my ultimate favorite.

The iron asylum is amazing! I could go on and on. The staff are so inviting and make you feel comfortable. The members are so helpful and encouraging! Open 24/7 to members. And has a culture that pushes you to be better! It’s truly my home away from home.

I just moved to the area in May and one thing that made this move easier was joining IA! They have incredible equipment that’s always clean, motivating members and staff, and alllll the amazing lifting goodies you could want for strength training. Great music, price, 24 hours, I was fortunate to find such a great place!

Iron Asylums’s gym and staff are beyond 5 stars. Great equipment and open 24/7 so it’s perfect for my schedule! Lost 40 lbs since I started 6 months ago! Everyone is super chill so it’s great place for newcomers

This gym is the best in the area. It is really clean, and they have individual spray bottles and rags when you walk in for you to keep with you during your workout at the Kempsville location. Staff is nice, almost everyone who works out there is built (which can be super motivating), they have big fans for ventilation, the equipment is great for serious weightlifters, and it has great aesthetics inside. I’ve been a member for years now (time includes the other location) and have never had any complaints about Iron Asylum. The Kempsville gym is very clean, the staff are always friendly and helpful, the equipment available is also diverse, and having the place open 24/7 accommodates my night owl schedule very well. I couldn’t recommend a better place to go.

It took a while for me to get comfortable working out here but now its all love. There are plenty of machines to use as well as free weights.

This is a great gym for serious lifters. Not for everyone. I do PT there. I would join.

Great facility, great staff, energy here is amazing. Wish we’d get rid of the Walmart and make the gym bigger.
