Lovingly run small restaurant near the Botanical Garden - definitely worth a visit. The Gastrom couple runs a charming Portuguese restaurant with a small but fine menu. She throws the kitchen and he the service. There are 4-5 tables inside and 2-3 outside as well. It is recommended to make reservations - either right at 7:00pm or at 9:00pm after the first guests are finished. The dishes are all cleverly prepared and appeal to both the eye and the palate. The menu offers fish, meat and also a vegetarian dish. The dishes are well portioned and allow for a pleasant three-course meal. The wine list carries only Portuguese wines. The restaurant is run by the couple with a lot of love and is definitely worth a visit. Predicate very good.

Lovely place. Home cooking but heightened, made with love and finesse. Friendly and kind service by the owner, this is definitely a place to visit. Portuguese food - try the cod livers! We are planning to go back again.

If you are looking for a true Portuguese experience, you should definitely book a table here. Everything here is perfect: food, service and atmosphere. It is really warm, welcoming, family restaurant, with Portuguese classics that you may know, but elevated and more delicious than anywhere else. Some of the recipes are actually family recipes and you can also get small story behind them, if you want to listen. If you are searching for typical, well known Portuguese dishes and drinks - you will get them here in the best form ever. But if you want something not as much know, just ask and they will recommend you some really nice traditional things, that you most probably won’t be able to experience in more touristic places.

We had dinner twice at this wonderful cozy restaurant. All the dishes were very tasty, service amazing, and the location in trendy Principe Real. Fernanda's chocolate almond cake is out of this world! Highly recommend!

If you’re only going to eat at one place in Lisbon, eat here. This is a family-run bistro (she’s a passionate cook, he’s a brilliant host) and they change the menu seasonally. We ordered the eggplant, cod fish with scrambled egg, octopus, gaspacho, and chicken with egg yolk. Everything was amazing but our favourites were the cod fish (crispy potato on the top) and the octopus (perfectly cooked which is so rare to find!). We’d definitely come back simply because the service was amazing, but genuinely one of the best finds in the neighbourhood. Instead of going to a taverna with sub-par food, come to this hole in the wall with beautiful people and food :)

Excellent food, great family-style service, and quaint ambiance. My wife and I walked in at 6:45 without a reservation on Saturday and were lucky to get a table. My octopus was maybe the best I’ve ever had. Waitstaff made us feel very much at home.

Amazing food. Great prices. The place feels as if you were eating at your grandmas place, if your grandma was the greatest cook ever.

This is one of these rare places that are hard to find. One woman who loves cooking and well made local products to cook with. We had great wine and good food. Make sure to reserve a place since they only have 5/6 tables inside. Enjoy!

Small, understated place with well prepared classic Portuguese dishes. The meal was very good. We had the tomatada codfish (prepared with a broth of chopped tomatoes), thankfully not very salty, particularly for cod. It hit the spot. We also had the rabbit, which had a slightly pickled flavor and rested on top of a bed of cabbage. Tasty and soft. The soup of the day was delicious, made with squash, lentils and coconut milk. The restaurant is small, and the tables even smaller. It can get a bit tight. But it has cute drawings on the walls and oozes the neo-traditional vibe that the golden hipster years made popular. Service was polite and helpful. I will surely be coming back.

Stumbled upon this little gem one of the nights when my boyfriend and I were in Lisbon. The owner of the restaurant was a lovely lady who found us a spot at the table outside when we didn’t have a reservation booked. We sat next to this adorable family and had a lovely chat with them! The food was delightful, from the starter and the main course to the dessert. The owner recommended us a lovely bottle of vino verde. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

My brother and I had a lovely dinner here on a Thursday night. We didn’t have a reservation but was able to get seated immediately around 9:30pm. The food was really good and the service extremely friendly, as it is run by an older husband and wife

Cozy, homey, rickety. The kind of restaurant that’s more like someone’s boho chic flat in the west end of some great old city. Great service and amazing food. The dried tuna with grapefruit and garlic on it was particularly divine.

Fantastic place, incredible food for a very reasonable price. I was lucky to get a table without a reservation, so definitely call ahead (the earlier the better). Highly, highly recommend the squid. Best squid I've had in my life.

Everything was excellent. We started with the sheep’s milk cheese appetizer—creamy deliciousness! I had the traditional codfish stew and my wife had the octopus in olive oil and wine. Again, amazing! The goat cheese with quince cake dessert was not on the online menu, but I would definitely recommend it, too! All in all, if we were staying longer in Lisbon, we would definitely return. Next time!

Great food and service, highly recommend. The tuna salad and cod dish were standouts, as was the mango panna cotta. We stumbled upon this place and despite not having reservations, the staff was extremely accommodating and made sure we were able to eat despite having limited time.

Amazing food, service and atmosphere. Little off the path and I think that's what makes this place great. Authentic Portuguese food and the owners were very kind and welcoming. For food, this was the best octopus we had our whole trip. Recommend the lemon chicken meal for something simpler and still delicious. The owner's daughter is a talented artist and we ended up purchasing a few of her works as a souvenir. Highly recommend if you are looking for a charming, authentic night in Lisbon.

What an experience from this gem of a restaurant. Innovative Portuguese kitchen that is based in tradition with a twist. It was a journey the whole way. Very good variety of hand picked wines. Do not miss this!

The best meal we've had in Lisbon. Beautiful small restaurant, the owners are warm, friendly and accommodate easily my glute free and dairy free allergies request. The rabbit was amazing and the octopus too! We are the appetizers before taking photos! Definitely coming back here on our next trip!

Gorgeous little restaurant tucked away from some of the busier streets. Everything we ordered was delicious! The mango and coconut panna cotta is going to remain in my memories for some time to come! Would recommend.

Are you interested in food that was created by people who love to cool, try and develop traditional food? You find out very quickly by talking to the lovely couple running the place for 8 years now and the woman being chef in the tiny Kitchen for 6 years. They stand for quality, well chosen products and you can tell they like to have you there, serving a good time. We had a great time, we found everything we hoped for a relaxing evening wirh warm hosts and great food! All the best!!
