👍👍 One of the best dinner I had in Lisbon so far. The owner is very welcoming, it was a pleasure talking with him and we ended up ordering everything he recommended. Everything was incredibly delicious, I highly recommend it. People often mention Lisbon, wine, owner, restaurant, good, delicious, great, service, time, tuna,

This restaurant is my favorite in Lisbon! The food was amazing and my friends and I were pleasantly surprised. All the dishes were prepared and cooked to perfection, very delicious! They have a great selection of wines from good years. The owner is fluent in English and even French. He recommended everything with great expertise and politeness. I will definitely return here when I'm back in Lisbon. Well done! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

This was a fantastic find! My partner and I had a delicious 3 course meal there last night, and they were even kind enough to let us bring our tiny dog. The food and service were both excellent. It was a great experience all round and I highly recommend a visit!

One of the best meals I had during my visit to Lisbon many years ago. This Portuguese tapas [on the average] easily exceed that of Spanish. You don't exactly know what the menu items are because the owner chef utilizes seasonal items. Only 2 problems : 1. Not too easy to find this place due to lack of prominent awning. 2. I tried to revisit this place, but it was closed. So ask the owner/chef about the business hours before you leave, because you will want to come back for the 2nd and 3rd time.

A truly excellent meal. I honestly think this is my favourite restaurant in Lisbon. The manager/owner is the definition of hospitality. The food was incredible. We had the dried tuna, steak, and peppers. Don’t let the description of the tuna as ‘tuna ham’ put you off.. it is delicate, sweet, and salty. Hitting all the umami points I love. As an Irishman I love my *good* beef and the steak truly was something very special. I will tell everyone I know going to Lisbon that they have to try this restaurant. The food and the people looking after you are genuinely so lovely and passionate. The location is perfect and you really get a sense of the medieval city. I’m so glad we spent our last night with O Vinhaça.

What an experience. Tiny spot with just a few tables, owner that runs a restaurant serving simple food done very well paired superbly with wine, Port, or other options. Octopus was wonderful, hot cheese with toast was rich and a great appetizer, dried tuna are small bites of strong flavor. Finish it off with a glass of recommend Madeira or port. Best meal we had in 3 weeks between Spain and Portugal.

What a great little restaurant! Amazing food and a lovely atmosphere. We stumbled across it by accident and so glad we did. Octopus is one of my favourite foods, and it was cooked to perfection here.

Amazing dining experience, wonderful quality food and wine, with great service. We came here early today, enjoy the quiet and chilled atmosphere in the restaurant. It’s located on the route of the famous 28 tram, you’ll find the place easily. Compare to most of the fancy restaurants in London, it’s absolutely worth the money. I don’t understand the bad reviews which mainly tolling about the price, the price is on the menu, if you can’t afford, how about just leave?

Very good food, would have given 5 stars but they refused to let us share the payment between us on our cards and insisted on making 1 card payment only, very inconvenient to settle afterwards

Ended up coming to eat here twice. A little harder to find, and that's how I found it. After the nightmare of new year's eve we needed somewhere excellent. O Vinhaca passed the test with flying colours. The first time we came for dinner. Melted cheese, tuna tartare and a pork dish with pickles (just like the hosts grandma made). So we had to get that. It was all worth it. The quality of food was unmatched. We came back on our last day for lunch and we had the cheese plate, Jamon plate and the cooked bluefin tuna. Again, all quality, especially the tuna. The chocolate cake was delicious. Not too sweet or heavy. Red berry crumble was the hosts own recipe. I make crumble weekly at my job and she could teach me a thing or two. All in all our favourite place that we ate in Lisbon. Definitely recommend. Everyone was so friendly and attentive. She also recommended a place that we went to and loved too, so that was a bonus.

This was our favourite meal in Portugal. Amazing octopus, ham, and cuttlefish stew that was so soulful and out of this world! Amazing service, the server kindly explained everything on the menu and different wine pairings. We went on a weekday night and made a reservation in advance. Highly recommend!!!

10/10. The service was impeccable. Super friendly staff, that take time suggesting dishes and pairing wines. The food was super fresh, simple but did beautifully. Special shout out to the best hostess in Portugal.

We visited this restaurant on a Saturday night - it was fantastic. The food was excellent (best octopus we've ever eaten). The service was exceptional - the lady who served us knew so much about the wine on offer, as well as the food. She was also happy to chat to us and offer other recommendations in Lisbon (four of us were visiting from the UK). We had the octopus, sirloin, prawns and tuna and would recommed them all.

Great food! Everything was delicious, but the octopus was the best, softest, octopus we ever had!! The owner is very friendly & forthcoming as well. Would definitely recommend.

Authentic and delicious Portuguese food and wine. Half the menu is cold tapas, the other half hot — which allows for ordering a whole bunch of delicious plates to share. We had the cheese, presunto, marinated sardines, cod, and the garlic shrimp for three people and it was the perfect amount of food. Everything was a hit, but the cod — oh my god the cod. I had to ask the owner how he makes it it was that good (answer: it’s poached in olive oil and garlic). And the owner is absolutely charming and seems to speak many languages beautifully. Try to make a reservation by phone ahead of time as there are only about 4-5 tables in the whole place. All dishes mentioned plus a bottle of wine and several bottles of water came out to about €125. More than reasonable. I’ll be back, for sure.

Carlotta has just taken over the family resto with great success - the food is fantastic as is her service. She is a delight and will take good care of you. Her Dad still helps in the kitchen from time to time so it continues to be a lovely family resto right in the heart of Lisbon on a great little cobblestone street. Don’t miss her grandma’s special dish. Quality local wine and home cooked Portuguese food, what more could you ask for!

By far THE BEST place I ate, not only in Lisbon but all of Portugal. "Quality food, done simple and right. Let the food speak for itself" ~ Owner. The food was incredible!!!!! Must try the octopus, steak, tar tar, sardines. I didn't know octopus could taste like that. The owner was soo nice, had a chat with us, walked us through the menu and wine, told us about his life, the restaurant, future plans with it and his passion and collection of wines (must ask about this). Unbelievable collection of wine as well if you want to take a bottle with you when you go. We found this place on our second of five nights in Lisbon and honestly I would have ate there for the next three nights but he was booked and then closed. That said, we were extremely fortunate he had space on another night and we were able to eat their twice during our stay. The second time was just as good as the first, in terms of the quality, cook, experience, EVERTHING! Don't go to Lisbon without a visit to this restaurant .... at least once!

Wonderful experience. The wine was fantastically paired with our food. We love everything; including our tuna tartar, marinated sardines, and ribeye steak. Dessert was wonderful as well. The atmosphere was extremely intimate and quiet. Would recommend!!

In November '21, I happened to walk past the door of O Vinhaça with my boyfriend. It looked so cosy, but unfortunately it was completely full at the time. I saved it in Google Maps. Now, 4 Months later I am in Lisbon again and decided to make a reservation here to have dinner with my father and boyfriend. I was still curious. What will be behind that door? The food was amazing, the atmosphere is intimate - like a living room, the owner is friendly and gives a lot of information. Also enjoyed the wine. What more could you want? All in all 5 stars! Thank you!

Excellent dinner at this cosy and unassuming little restaurant tucked away in a quiet part of bustling Alfama. The food was fresh, succulent and unbelievably tender. The octopus and garlic chilli prawns (not pictured) are the best I've ever tasted. Highly recommend visiting this hidden gem! Call ahead for a reservation to avoid disappointment!

Big recommendation for this cozy little restaurant! I had the tuna steak medium rare and it was amazing. Add a good wine and you will leave with a smile on your face. At least I did :-) Prices are average. The best restaurants in Lisbon you often find in small sidestreets like this one.

Very small place, around 7 tables. Octopus is rather boiled than grilled, however tasty. Tuna ham is good also.

As many of other mentioned before - the octopus was as tender as it gets. Also both my husband and I were pleasantly surprised with the chocolate cake - sooo much flavour! 👌

A tiny, perfect gem of a restaurant. Excellent food, simply prepared, and some of the best service I've seen. We had olives, garlic prawns, goat cheese with honey and rosemary, and grilled red pepper, then port and Madeira to follow. Delicious! It's worth coming early or reserving, to make sure you get a table.
