Having a reservation made getting in a breeze. If you adore seafood, this place will feel like paradise. The tables are quite close together—almost like sharing a party with strangers! The bottle of wine we selected was both affordable and incredibly delicious. It's definitely a must-try.

During my stay in Lisbon I have visited many restaurants. This is one of the best ! Service, price and quality, all come together! There’s no salt and pepper in the table. And there is a reason for that . The food is fresh and perfectly seasoned! It’s Absolutely a must do ordering the green wine ! Enjoy!

Nice and simple grilled fish dishes. They offer 5 types of fish, only grilled, accompanied by potatoes. The menu is very simple and limited, but the quality of the fish is quite good for the great price

What a place, tiny restaurant but so, so good. We all order fish, everybody was happy with the plate, small choice but top quality for a very attractive price. Highly recommended.

Amazing place and make sure you make a reservation. They have only few dishes: octopus, cod fish, squads. sardines and meat, but the seafood was fresh and so good!! Especially, squad! Prices are also very customer friendly

Small but always busy place. That’s exactly how I imagined a typical Portuguese restaurant - simple but delicious seafood cooked perfectly. Had octopus “to-go” and squid + glass of wine for lunch. Really recommend for non touristy & local food.

Great restaurant, we loved the octopus and the calamari! Great portions. Try the desert called baba de camelo, it's delicious! Great prices and quick service. We made a reservation 1 week in advance to guarantee a spot!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Floresta das Escadinhas in Lisbon, Portugal, and I must say it was an exceptional experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy ambiance that made me feel right at home. The menu was diverse and offered a variety of traditional Portuguese dishes with a modern twist. Each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor, showcasing the restaurant's commitment to using fresh, high-quality ingredients. The staff was knowledgeable, attentive, and passionate about the food they were serving. They went above and beyond to ensure that my dining experience was nothing short of amazing. Overall, I highly recommend Floresta das Escadinhas to anyone visiting Lisbon. It's the perfect combination of excellent food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere. I would give this restaurant a perfect score of 5/5, and I can't wait to return on my next visit to Portugal

We really enjoyed our lunch at Floresta das Escadinhas. It is a very popular place so I suggest booking a table if you can (they take reservations for 12.00 and 12.15) or preparing to queue for a while. We were lucky to get the last available table for two before a long queue formed. The food was very tasty; we had octopus, sardines, a side of vegetables and a bottle of vinho verde. Everything was very fresh and well-cooked. Although it's a popular place, the service was friendly and relaxed and we didn't feel rushed.

The food was really nice that I had to go back again. I had mixed fish, which was very tasty. The ambience was really nice. The first time, I sat outside, which was on the stairs, so I found it interesting. The second time, I sat inside, which was equally nice, and I don't mind going back a third time :)

One of the best restaurants in the city centre of Lisbon. The quality of the food is top-notch. We ordered a table of meat with fries and the typical Portuguese soup. The atmosphere is very chill (we went quite early for lunch) and the service is on point. Plus, the bill was very cheap beacuse we booked our table with TheFork. Definitely worth a try.

Cute little restaurant on the stairs between two streets, very Lisboa-esque. The waiter praised my sardine-eating technique and after this ego boost I had no choice but to write a review. Good service, decent seafood for cheap prices.

Excellent! Great stuff, best food I've tried in that area. To be honest, during our little trip we returned here a few times to try different kind of dishes. Strongly recommend!

We enjoyed our dining experience here. It is a busy place and opened for limited hours so it is best to try and make a reservation if you can. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They are famous for their sardines, which were good, but we found them to be overly salted. Which I think is a personal preference. I would recommend trying for yourself

It's not extraordinary, the food was just OK. We ordered sardines & octopus. The sardines were not prepared properly: their innards were not thrown away & the inside were not cleaned. Need to be careful while eating because the innards are bitter. Seasoning is also lacking, especially the potatoes. In our opinion, there are better restaurants and it's not worth the long queue & waiting time.

Great place and really lovely staff (who all speak English if you’re a tourist). We had the mixed fish and house wine plus coffees for less than €50, what a bargain. The fish was perfectly seasoned and cooked.

We shared a platter here with 5 different fishes on it. They were all worth the hype! A really tasty selection of seefood! Make sure to arrive early, but still the place will be probably full. A small but nice restaurant hidden inside Lisbons narrow streets worth visiting

Great spot for lunch! Loved the mixed fish, salad, and octopus. We also tried the vino verde here, which is a must when in Portugal. Customers look like a mix of locals and tourists. Lovely service from our waitstaff. Payment is made at the front in cash or card. We were able to sit down for lunch on a Thursday after a short wait since we did not have a reservation ahead of time.

We ordered the mixed fish and baby squids, I’m usually not a huge fan of fish but this place changed my mind.. or maybe I just never had it cooked properly. It was one of the best meals we had throughout our entire trip. Squid was average though. Fairly busy restaurant, we sat outside and got lucky and didn’t have to wait but line ups formed not long after. Placemat had a QR code in place of a physical menu.

Great food, awesome atmosphere, and surprisingly fair pricing. Loved the chorizo board and the octopus! Fish board already has a sardine in it so I would say don’t get the sardines separately if you get the fish board.

One of my favourite restaurants in Lisbon. The food was delicious (well seasoned and grilled), the staff are extremely friendly, and the meals are well priced for the quality that you receive. Friendly suggestion: Reserve your spot beforehand or as soon as the restaurant opens as it gets extremely busy, wait times can be like waiting for a roller coaster ride depending on the crowd and day. Overall, this restaurant is a MUST visit at least once when you’re in Lisbon ♥️

Really lovely restaurant tucked away in an alley, however make sure you book in advance as there was a queue up the stairs! We got the sardines (a must have) and the mixed fish plate - both really fresh and cooked very well. Would definitely recommend

Great place to taste comfy and excellent Portuguese dishes. My daughters chose the squid and I had the bacahlau. The squids were melting in mouth and the bacahlau was very well cooked. I also took the traditional dessert "baba de camelo" and our waiter David recommended a killer white wine to drink along. The place is crowded so you better book.

We came here at around 2:00pm and the wait was still at least 30 minutes. If you don't want to wait, either come earlier (like when they open) or come later. This place does simple Portuguese food. We had the polvo (octopus) (13) and the sarindinhas (sardines) (12). The sardines were okay. Nothing special and wouldn't recommend. The octopus was delicious. Very tender and simply seasoned. If you have time to wait for a seat - then I would recommend the octopus. If you don't have time to wait, I would say pass on this.

Guys, don't think twice. Just go in! The place is absolutely fantastic - fresh food, amazing personnel and great location. Nina was very sweet, and she made sure we chose outstanding dishes - we tried the portugese board (great sausage choice), and then we had octopus and squid. Simple recipes with high quality! Don't hesitate to pay them a visit! P.s. Give the espresso a try as well!

Excellent place. The food is prime quality and you fell like home. The price is correct, oh yes because the food is amazing and so tasty and the price is so cheap. Try the green wine and the cheese cake, the best cheese cake I ever tried.

Food was decent but the outdoor seating is in the midst of a construction site and my octopus was unfortunately lacking char. Overall, I would go back and ask for an extra crispy polvo as the staff were incredibly nice and the food did have great flavour. I think the octopus had a bit of a gummy texture due to a lack of sear and it didn't sit well with me. I would still give this another chance and the other dishes I saw from other patrons seemed to have been blasted with a bit more heat. I think I would have better luck next visit.

This a hidden gem at downtown Lisbon! The food was delicious! Very simple elaborated food, but tasty and originally! A must trying if you are around Lisbon.

Delicious grilled meat and fish. Sardines, octopus, squid, cod, chicken, ribs. The calamari was amazing with boiled potatoes. Local beer is a good compliment not overly filling. Looks like family owned mom grilling dad tending to cashiering and ruining around. Highly recommend.

Get here early for lunch cause they run out of the good stuff. That’s how good and busy this place is! Got the grilled mixed fish. The fish was fresh and delicious. The portion was just right (maybe too much for me). No need to get a starter for sure. Although the couvert and the soup of the day were just as delicious. At the end you get a free ginjinha shot.

Truly phenomenal food. I had the mixed fish platter and it was excellent. It came with black fish, corvina, salmon, cod, and a sardine plus boiled potatoes. The blackfish and corvina were my favorites, followed by the sardine. Definitely recommend a reservation. I had one for noon, they even sat me a few minutes early. While I sat, a line formed of people without a reservation, although they were all sat inside within 20 minutes. Nina was a great server, very attentive and knowledgeable about the food and wine, she helped me make great decisions with the food and wine!

One of my favorite meals in Lisbon. Ordered the Portuguese board and grilled octopus. Everything was delicious, Olive is not salty, chorizo is smoked but too much. The octopus is chewy and well seasoned. Service was superb too, the waitresses were so nice. Definitely will recommend this anyone who visits Lisbon, make sure you make a reservation, they only open for lunch I think

Very good quality for the money! I've had the octopus plate for around 12 euro and all the foods that was served was delicious. Must try the vino verde which is a young white wine that is a local speciality! Friendly staff and food came very fast! Although they don't have an impressive menu, everything is very fresh and cooked well.

Honesty, I would give it a 4.5 but feel bad about it because they were so nice, patient with our questions, and food was good, felt very local. We were the first customers and they were ready for us. After that, it got packed with people waiting. I would not say that the food tasted like the freshest ever or that the cuts of fish were absolutely delicious. I grew up eating seafood and it can definitely be better, but it really is amazing value. We couldn’t even finish our food and we eat a lot.

Amazing fish place in Lissabon. Definitely recommend this place and would make reservation for it. It is known in Lissabon and quite crowded, in front of the store are almost as many people as in the store. We got the fish mix and the sardine plate and both were awesome and worth every €€!! The Wine is also very nicely priced. I recommend this place and will come here again. Service was great, athmosphere was amazing and the food just perfect!

This place lives up to its reputation. From the lady at the door to the waitress who looked after me (Nina), everything was amazing. The best fish I have eaten and so so affordable. Shame I couldn't go back the next day but it'll be my top spot in Lisbon

  • 5/5 Christoph M. 1 year ago on Google
Best fish restaurant we found in town. Inconspicuous by the stairs, come in and smell a thousand scents! We had the sardines specialty and mixed fish. Both were delicious and the staff very courteous and friendly. You must eat there if you are in Lisbon!

Such a nice place. we ordered seafood which i recommend everyone to do so. The quality of food was exceptional, the only negative thing about the place is that each table is really close to eachother so there's not much space
