The best place to go for a dinner if you are REALLY hungry after climbing the hills of Lisbon by feet the whole day )) The dishes coming in a to-share size for a couple minimum. Let me repeat: the dishes are enormous! We were 5 and took 1 dish and 2 halves. We barely managed to finish the food because it was too much but at the same time everything tasted so good so it would be a putty to leave the food😂 The staff is really nice and instrumental when it comes to clean up sauce stains from diners’ clothes. Looked like they were well prepared and practiced a lot😂 Five stars and highly recommend! The calamari is a killer!

The staff was amazing one of the family member spilled some sauce on their shirt and the staff gave her something to clean it with. The food was amazing with a lot of flavor. The dishes were so big and filled our stomachs. Overall an amazing place.

Great authentic Portuguese food with huge portions (you have to order half a portion for one person and still will walk away with the takeaway of the rest) - although the good rating is definitely not because of the portion size but the quality. Serve food also in the blind time of the day between 4 pm and the dinner time, when most if the Portuguese restaurants don't serve food. Payment with a card possible.

This place is very overrated. Service is inattentive — our waiter was more interested in football match on tv then us. They bring you appetisers that seem as a nice gift, but charge you later ~10€ if you eat them (without saying anything to you beforehand). What the heck — who does this? And they are not even tasty 🤬 The food (we took cod) is okay but nothing special and for what you get is definitely overpriced (33€ for 2). Sangria was ok. Regret coming there, there are a lot much better places in Lisbon to spend money in.

We came by recommendation of a local friend. Wanting to taste multiple dishes, we were able to adapt their concept of big plates to share to three half plates. That was a fair amount of food, but so delicious that we finished it with three people. We really enjoyed the cod fish, the cuttle fish and the steak - their signature dishes. It is a small and very popular venue, so it will be very lively when every table is full.

This place is bustling with people even at 10pm. Decided to give it a try since it’s beside our hostel. Please be warned that the portion is HUGE, recommend for big groups so you can try more things. I went with my partner who was sick and the waiter/ kitchen was kind enough to allow us to order half portion! Even so it was still HUGE. Service was fast and waiters were attentive!

Nice neighbourhood restaurant. We ordered the popular cuttlefish with garlic and steak with garlic. The thinly cut steak was too chewy. Cuttlefish was nice but not special. They asked to bring cheese, bread, etc as opposed to what some reviewers had indicated before...

I had a great time at this restaurant.the waiter was funny and recommended magnificent food options from the menu. At first I thought that the food was really expensive until the waiter explained that every meal is for two people.overall this restaurant is worthy of a fivestar and the only thing I did not like was that my parents forced me to try calamari.

Loved by the young up and coming locals this is a great place for a tasty meal based on traditional Portuguese dishes. As it’s a very busy place it is better to reserve ahead. Don’t miss the cod dish and the cuttlefish one, both are superb. If you’re in Lisbon a great place for a meal!!

If you would ever thought of eating something delicious and at the same time being so hungry that you would eat more than usual then Zé da Mouraria 2 is ABSOLUTELY A MUST TO VISIT! Portion for two is not big but huge and if you would like to drink a Reserva vine that is not on the Wine list, just ask and they will serve it. Al in all, the place where one gets all what one needs! Bom aptit!

This restaurant is amazing if you want to eat a delicious traditional Portuguese food! The portion is really big. In two people we ate a plate of bacalhau but the plate could serve at least 3 people with hungry 😅 The restaurant was full and I saw that many tables ordered for the same dish as us! The environment is good and the staff that serves us was very very kind and friendly!

In Portugal, cheese, olives, and bread are served directly in almost every restaurant, but they are not treats. So, if you don't want them, you have to send them back:-) Usually always the same cheese; made from sheep's milk, creamy inside, slightly hard on the outside. Here, we had the codfish and coriander rice. The portions were very big, I wish they had told us that^^ Everything was floating in olive oil but I enjoyed it because I love olive oil. I dipped bread in each dish:-) Restaurants can be open between 12-15 for lunch & 18 for dinner. Lisbon is one of the cities that starts its day late. Although some restaurants are always open, there are many that apply more Portuguese-style hours.

The food was very tasty and the waiters were polite. However they did bring some starters right after we sat, from the menu (bread, olives, and cheese) . We assumed its complimentary as we had not ordered it, but later they charged us for that. I guess it's fine because it as tasty but it was an odd practice brining something from the menu and charging the customer for it, without an order.

Great place for some authentic Portuguese food. Went there for lunch and just wanted a tiny bite to keep us going until dinner. We ended up finishing two massive plates of tender beef and juicy tuna, both cooked to the point and served in an excellent gravy - it was just too good to leave behind. Atmosphere is very rustic, but staff are super friendly.

We went on a Saturday night, they were fully booked but managed to find us a corner for an hour and it was so worth it! The portions are huge, every plate they say is for two, but it would feed 3 . It’s authentic Portuguese, delicious and the staff was super nice and spoke English. Would recommend for sure!

The ribs and the cod were our favorites. Also get the sangria and house wine. Make a reservation and don’t confuse the two restaurants w the same name. The first one isn’t open for dinner.

We had the sea bass as it was recommended to us, it was a massive portion enough for 3 people and included potatoes, chickpeas and cabbage so no need to order sides. Quick heads up: olives, bread and cheese (very tasty) will be brought to your table automatically, you will be charged for these unless you send them back. We also had their special sangria, not sure it tasted anything like sangria but was pretty good and good value anyway. Spent 58€ for 2 people for all of the above if anyone is looking for a reference. Restaurant was pretty much full on a Saturday night and we got the last table for 2. Service was ok, stretched thin with so many customers and the waiter didn’t know much English but we managed to get what we ordered and we were happy.

We shared the cuttlefish (chocos ao alhinho), sangria and crème brûlée; paid around 46€ in total (for 2 people). We thought the food tasted good but it didn't make an impression on us that would make us want to come back again.

All I can say is OMG!! The BEST authentic Portuguese food we ever experienced. The place was packed mostly with locals, which means you know that it is good. We arrived at 9:45pm on a Thursday in October and they told us they were full but they would try and accommodate us. They have 2 locations basically side by side with each other. I assume they had to open another location due to the outstanding popularity and demand. My husband and I ordered 1 dish, bottle of wine , bread, cheese and olives. The bill came to $54.00 Euro's. WARNING!! We were told the portions was good for 2 but honestly, it was more like 4 or 5 people. A BIG THANK YOU to Andre and his amazing service and recommendations. We love, love, love this place. This is a MUST try for their delicious food and impeccable service.

Best local Portuguese food in Lisbon. The shrimp appetizer, cilantro rice, and garlic steak was very good. It is a local spot with a great atmosphere and friendly staff. I would definitely come back again.

Just the best restaurant ever! The cod was sensational, the steak amazing, cilantro rice wonderful, the wine, beer and sangria plentiful and delicious, and our server Ricardo was without a doubt, the nicest, most generous server we have experienced in Europe. Just a fun place to be. Each dish feeds at least 2. Mostly locals, and even being Americans we felt like we were locals. Highly recommended! Get the cod

A nice place to have dinner. You have to book a place by phone. We had the cuttlefish and it was great. The cheese they serve is also fantastic. Very very crowded at some times and the service is slow and non attentive.
