Cozy and fun spot for dinner. We came a few minutes after they opened at around 7:40pm and our party of 3 was able to be seated immediately. They gave us a bread basket, tuna, olives, carrots, and cheese as appetizers (note though these items are charged even though we didn't order them). These were delicious though and a great start to the meal. We ordered 3 entrees: grilled octopus, prawns, and sea bass. All were good but the prawns were really tasty and definitely the best out of all the entrees. Each entree comes with its own sides too which were delicious. We left very full and the staff was super friendly and hospitable!

Wow!! We visited Adega Dom Luis on a Friday night, with no reservation. Despite this, the owner welcomed us with a fantastic smile and made literally our night! At arrival, we were kindly offered a glass of white wine! 🥂 This was really nice of them and we greatly appreciated! We proceeded with ordering food - we had the grilled prawns, which were fantastic! So big and tasty, a dream! We also had the mussels, which were served in a buttery tomato sauce with chunky pieces of onion. Dipping the bread inside all the sauce was sooooo amazing 😍. We finally ordered the octopus dish which arrived in a lovely extra virgin olive oil sauce and tasty potatoes. Food was incredible & portions huge - we didn't manage to finish everything but definitely left with our belly full & a wonderful smile on our face! A special thanks to the owner, who treated us with such kindness, made us feel special and took the time to talk to us and explain all the recipes with such passion! Please, visit this restaurant if you are in Lisbon. It will be a fantastic experience!

We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance, after a very unpleasant experience at the nearby and flashier Boubous -- so unpleasant we left before ordering (you can see the review there!). I was wearing high heels over cobblestones at 8:30 pm and Adega Dom Luis looked unpretentious, humble, and its menu seemed to cater mostly to the local Portuguese. We took a chance and are so glad we did: the restaurant is run by a husband and wife who serve authentic, homecooked Portuguese cuisine. The owner could not have been more welcoming to two strays. We left the ordering to him, including the wine, and ended up having a spectacular meal that cost us only 60 Euros. Highly recommend Adega Dom Luis for fresh seasonal local cuisine made from the finest ingredients (including beef imported from Uruguay). The Portuguese red he served to go with everything was delicious. We came out way ahead. I agree with another reviewer that this is the most authentic (and delicious) meal we enjoyed in Lisbon.

Best dinner I had in Lisbon. We came here with friends on our first night in Lisbon and were simply blown away. Not knowing what to expect and wanting to try out many things, we ordered a bit too much (5 dishes for 4 people), not leaving any space for desserts because portions turned out to be huge. So we decided to come the next evening, order less and try out the desserts. Both evenings we left the place with huge smiles on our faces. Every piece of food is super fresh and high quality, from appetizers to desserts, everything was a masterpiece. The owner adds additional level of great vibe with his energy and playful approach to the guests. If you are craving for some impressive grilled fish, look no more and come here, cannot imagine anyone leaving this place disappointed. The highlight dinner of our Portugal trip. Will definitely come back every single time I am in Lisbon.

Oh my! The owner never stops moving! Unbelievably good food, great service. Very small, 8 tables inside and another two inside. Bring cash. Fresh fish, perfectly cooked vegetables. Great appetizers.

We had an excellent meal with fun service by, I presume, the owner. He danced and sang as he flew around the restaurant tidying and serving. Know before you go that if you don’t want to pay for the appetizers that magically appear, just don’t eat them. We did want the olives, bread, delicious marinated carrots but not the cheese. I had the octopus and my partner had seabass fillets. Oh, and it included shareable plates of salad and something I couldn’t identify but reminded me of creamy polenta. Very generous portions. We were ready to pay and go but owner insisted we stay for complementary drink of port. It was a wonderful way to complete the meal.

Wonderful restaurant, the owner is friendly, welcoming and very attentive. Food is amazing. Restaurant not so big and cozy. We really enjoyed dinning in. Unfortunately it doesn't accept cards you have to bring cash.

The most incredible traditional food I had on my last night in Lisbon. Croquettes delicious, cod and octopus mains - both full of flavour and huge portions. The owner is also a gem and loves his customers. Don’t skip this place. Worth every penny and more (the bill is almost too cheap). FYI cash only.

Perfect, tasty and very typical restaurant, you will finish your meal for sure! The couple who own the restaurant will make your moment a real pleasure. It is also very affordable for the quality of the (really fresh) products. What you see in the picture got us 50€, with bottle of wine etc included. Be sure to bring cash because they don’t accept credit card.

An absolute must visit in Lisbon. Tony is an incredible host, so attentive and truly makes you feel like family. The food is outstanding, one of the best meals I had during my stay. The portions are huge and every items comes with sides of its own, so I really recommend sharing dishes to get a good taste of everything! The mussels were the highlight of our meal - if you end up getting them with the side of chips, dipping the chips in the leftover sauce is a magical combo. No matter what you order, you’re in good hands with Tony! If you’re lucky you may even get to see him take a dive in his swimming pool :)

The place indeed authentic and so local, family business. Very welcome, great service from the owner and his family. Food was good, the only missing star because they put some starters for you without even asking for them and charging for them. Besides that was nice experience

First of all, I don't do reviews but I was so pleasantly satisfied with our experience here and I promised the owner I'd write a review. We were out for an evening walk when we come across this fantastic gem of a restaurant tucked away in a small street in Lisbon. Everything we ordered, I mean everything, was utterly and absolutely delicious and fresh. Arguably most satisfying seafood I've had in Lisbon, if not the best. Also, it's owned and run by a family, they are hard workers and taking pride in what they do. It clearly reflects on the food they serve. The owner works there and he was such a sweet guy with super warm and friendly manners. 100% recommended, I guarantee you will not be disappointed. Just one tip, bring cash, as credit cards not accepted. But believe me, it's absolutely worth the inconvenience.

The best meal I've had in a very long time, and probably the best fish meal I've ever had. The service was great too. You get extreme value for the money at this place. Our amazing dinner for two cost a modest 45 euros including a local wine that was perfect for seafood.

Very good seafood restaurant. It’s family owned and the owner- Tony- was very attentive and friendly. We ordered Octopus and Seabass. Both were amazing and came in generous portions. Raspberry cheesecake was very good.

What a beautiful and warm place! It was our last dinner in Portugal and I wish we would find this place earlier! The owners are a family and they love what they do, you can feel this. We ate octopus and bacalhau and both of them were amazing. The owner choose the wine for us and it was a perfect choice. I wish I would even eat the dessert but we were so full! Highly recommended!

Great familly run resataurant. The owner made our night serving us local home made recipes besides what we ordered and making friendly remarks and jokes. The most authentic dining experience we had in Lisbon.

Love it! So glad to have found this place. The owner is charming and friendly and the food is absolutely delicious! Go there if you want a traditional Portuguese meal. The grilled octopus is to die for. For first time visitors, if you want to decline any of the bread and small bites just politely do so. It’s a tradition for most restaurants to offer them without ordering but they will charge them. All the main courses come with veggies, salad and potatoes, so it is a pretty good deal. Just remember to bring cash (or walk up the hill to the nearest ATM) as they don’t take any credit cards. I will be back!

We had a lovely meal at Adega Dom Luis. The swordfish and seabass were some of the best I have ever had the pleasure of eating. The host is and adorable older gentleman who is very personable and made a point to spend some time at each table. Highly recommend, but get there early as it was full five minutes after opening

Wir hatten Glück und haben um 19.30 Uhr einen Tisch bekommen. Der Fisch war grandios und der Wirt überaus aufmerksam, freundlich und witzig. Es war ein toller Abend zu einem fairen Preis. Dankeschön!

The owner Anthonio definitely added lot of credit of our dinner .... When we asked for red wine, he opened the bottle of doggie red immediately....we just love it and it's such a great price too. I ordered Grilled Tiger Prawns with four big pieces, my friend had a big tuna fish fillet... owner's wife, the Chef just cooks them prefectly....no sauce at all but taste and it's so fresh to have it's own seafood favour! We are so appreciated to find this restaurant and left a great memories of our trip in Lisbon. We had booked another dinner there before we leave 😜

At Dom Luis’ you will be treated like family or old friends. The owner is a hearty man, who lives the passion he has for hosting strangers who quickly become friends. The food might be the best in Lisbon - I had the swordfish, cooked to perfection and with all the sides one could dream of. The energy, atmosphere, and vibe of the staff and the owner will make you want to eat all - although the generous portion sizes with four sides do not make that an easy task. I can wholeheartedly recommend this place.

Overall ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Lovely Portuguese restaurant that offers many sea plates and a welcoming atmosphere but the food itself kinda deluded me.. Food 🍽️ ⭐⭐⭐ I only gave 3 stars as for the price i was expecting much more.. It is not bad but not the best neither.. You can find better deal elsewhere. Nevertheless the codfish 🐟 or the octopus 🐙 are the must go in my opinion. Service 👥 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The owner is super friendly but sometimes it ends up to be almost fake in doing so.. Nevertheless he's fast in taking orders and serving them. Atmosphere 🛋️ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I sincerely loved the place ❤️ is super small so make sure to book it in advance. The interior is lovely and it's nearby Príncipe Real.
