Clearly it was the best overall dinner experience in Lisbon. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the everything they have in the menu also very welcomed us while we’re waiting at the line. Foods were better than all restaurants we’ve tried previously here and prices were reasonable. They have special dinner menu along with relatively wide wine variety. Basically we liked everything we had definitely visit here again as soon as possible. Also the size of the foods were the biggest one so far.

Wow is a great way to describe this restaurant in one word. The food was straight up awesome and very affordable especially for the quality and the service you receive. Location is perfect, all in all it is a must visit

We love to try all the places we can when visiting a new city. This place was so good we went back every day! By the 3rd day the managers recognized us and treated us special. This place is truly a gem. The gambas have an amazingly buttery sauce. The shrimp dish with potato & egg was beyond and even their steak spoke to my heart with a hot pepper on top. Friendly staff, amazing location.

We had an amazing lunch here. Salad was incredibly tasty with a nice dressing and loads of toppings, not only leaves. The main dish, the cod, was superb, tender and flavory, very nice with the crunchy fries and the risotto had a very soft texture. The chocolate cake at the end is the perfect ending

After spending the past 5 weeks in Lisbon & dining out almost every meal, we keep returning to Maria Catita. We haven’t been disappointed by a single dish yet, & can’t wait to try more items on the menu. Also, the service is excellent. Luciano, Sky & Mayara have been incredibly welcoming and helpful when we have questions about the menu. The rest of the staff is also friendly & they seem to work together well. I’ve noticed that the historic area is riddled with tourist traps, but Maria Catita is not one of them. Dinner can be hard to get into, so we usually go for a luxurious lunch. Check it out & enjoy!

I would 100% go back to this restaurant if I ever go back to Lisbon. Everything about the dishes were perfect, from the taste to the presentation and freshness of the fish. Incredible. In addition, the service was excellent and very friendly. The best restaurant we ate at during our stay.

If I could give 10 stars, I would. The food at Maria Catita blew my mind. It was absolutely incredible and the staff was friendly, helpful, polite, and also were joking around with us which was a plus. As starters, I decided to go with the Tuna bites in a white wine and garlic sauce. I would recommend getting bread to go with it because the sauce is yummy. The tuna was so chunky, man it was amazing. My boyfriend had the friend monkfish, I definitely recommend this starter as it was out of this world. As mains, we both went for the slow cooked octopus, again, it was incredible. We had such a good meal, if i could go again, I would in a heartbeat!!!

We ordered the daily specials on the board, both dishes were equally delicious, well served and fresh. I’m vegetarian and asked to have the lemon risotto only without salmon. Which was a great choice and went well with the wine. €9.50 for main, drink, dessert and coffee, being delicious and so fairly priced, there is nothing to complain. Service was attentive and friendly. Will definitely return and recommend this place!

Amazing sea food dishes. We had the octopus a must try! And sea bass. Extremely fresh! Great customer service. Great prices. Located in a tourist area but don’t let that discourage you from enjoying a meal. Mauro took care of us everything he recommended to try was delicious

We recommend a table reservation. The restaurant offers a traditional Portuguese gourmet. We ordered Sardinien filet with tomato risotto and Portuguese steak. All very delicious and gourmet. Great wine card. Atmosphere was very nice and welcoming. waiters, specially Jana, were professional, kind and helpful.

You can't notice this restaurant when looking up Portuguese restaurants in Lisbon online where you may have traditional dishes. This tiny kitchen, which lies in the middle, creates meals that combine experience and tradition. The octopus meals are fantastic when paired with the Douro wine and are definitely worth tasting. Have to try without a doubt! Reasonably priced, with genuinely kind and accommodating servers.

We had a great time there, even though one of our drinks took a long while. But the staff were all very friendly and attentive, which made up for the delay of the drink. Bitoque Maria Catita Style and Steak Portuguese Style were both excellent. The flavor was something I’ve never had before and they really surprised me in a good way. We truly enjoyed both steaks. Very popular place. Reservations recommended.

Wow wow wow! The staff is so friendly, every single one! They give good recommendations for food and drinks and they are so funny they make you smile all the time. Especially our waiter Rui (thanks to you!). The food was delicious. I would die for the shrimps as a starter!!!! The tuna steak and the beef steak were also amazing. The ambiance was so lovely and Maria Catita made our last evening in Lisbon unforgettable. We will definitely come back. Thank you 😊

Hard to find such a good place in the crowded city of Lisbon. Searching for a place for lunch we found this place at Google Maps, and decided to give a try. First of all, I've to say that Jorge the waiter who helped us, was super nice and made this experience much better. The food is top notch, I asked for the steak with pepper sauce, it comes with fries, and again, everything was amazing. Also, try the chocollat cake. Thank you Jorge for your contagious sympathy.

Absolutely loved our dinner at Maria Catita! This place was recommended by my mom and uncle who visited Lisbon 6 months ago and very much exceeded our expectations. We didn't have a reservation and were told it would be a 45 minute wait but only waited about 20 minutes. Our food was fantastic and the best Portuguese meal we have had so far. Service was excellent thanks to Mauro and Mateus. We are here a few more days and just might have to go back for another meal before leaving.

We visited Maria Casita early February of 2024 after a walking tour. We ordered the Bacalhau à Brás and the Sirloin à Portuguesa and an Iberian Sausage appetizer. The Salt Cod was delicious, perfect on bread we thought so we ordered a serving of bread as well. The bread also helped us sop up the butter sauce from the stake, which was heavenly. We were also recommended some aperativos, pictured here, both very good. Not pictured was a bottle of Casa Cadaval Riesling we had with our food. Jana attended to our needs. Very warm and friendly, she made our experience a memorable one. Good food for a good price. Highly recommended.

Absolutely fabulous seafood restaurant. We dropped by without a reservation at around 8pm on a Monday evening, and it was packed - even without a reservation, though, they were luckily able to seat us inside very quickly. We ordered the shrimp salad to start, while we waited for our mains. It was a huge portion for the price and tasted amazing, the shrimps were extremely fresh - one of the best salads I've ever had. The mains were also very generous portions considering the extremely high quality and reasonable price they held. I would highly recommend the Chef's Special - I have not had anything like it, the purple sweet potato mash worked beautifully with the salmon. If you love quality seafood, I urge you to visit - just ensure you make a reservation to guarantee a table!

I cannot recommend this place enough! Please resend at least a week in advance or line up as soon as they open up. Well worth it! The service was great, our servers were really friendship and provided great recommendations. The food was phenomenal! Must try the Octopus rice!! They have a new passion fruit cocktail which was great!!

One of the best restaurant we‘ve been in Lisbon. It was very busy on weekday in the evening, but it was worth it. The atmosphere and service were amazing. The food was very delicious and the portion size was great. I’d definitely come here again!

Overall, the food was good. The steak was great and worth the price! However, I found the chips were a bit soggy, please improve this. The service was friendly and helpful. I will visit again this restaurant whenever I am in Lisbon.

Overrated; I was there alone and ordered two mains: Buttiflied Sardines fillet risotto and a seafood stew. They were okay tho I dun think it lives up to the hype. I was never asked whether my food was fine like they asked other guests. I was asked to pay 49.50 Euros, and when they brought me the bill, they circled the bit on it that said “tips are not included”. What kind of restaurant does that? The staffs there were not nice at all and the lady brought me the bill even asked me to give a tips. No good service provider would do that. I paid them 50 and she shot me the look like I have killed her parents. I left with a bad note. Please go somewhere else, this is not worth the hype.

We popped in without a reservation for an early dinner when we were caught in the rain. I got the octopus rice while my fiance got the francesinha. We both loved our food! They were quite generous with the octopus and it was so flavorful. It was a very enjoyable experience.

Fantastic service and very delicious food! The waiter was one of the best waiters I’ve ever had. I tried another restaurant on this street on it doesn’t even come close to this one. Good prices too for nice Portugese food. I had the sardine risotto and my gf had a steak. Cheesecake was also 👌🏻

This is our second time here. The restaurant is in touristy area. We wanted to give it a try one more time because it’s very high rating. The food was good but not great. The service was wonderful.

Fortunate enough to secure a table at Maria Catita, our taste buds were treated to a delightful feast. The portions, exceeding even my capacity, were a testament to their generosity. The service extended was marked by both warmth and attentiveness, further enhancing the experience. Without a doubt, a strong recommendation is in order for this establishment.

We are leaving Lisbon tomorrow and this was one of two restaurants that were our favourite! We sat outside and was so nice as the road didn't allow any cars so it was not too noisy and we had a great view of the colourful buildings. The staff were incredibly polite and brought a cheeky sense of humour, which we enjoyed! The restaurant got full very quickly after we arrived so it was good that we had a reservation. I had the monkfish crumbed bites, which were absolutely amazing! So crunchy, and the fish inside was mouth-watering! Was the best starter I had in my 7 night stay in Lisbon! My partner had the tuna bites as her starter, which I tried with bread and again. Wow. The sauce went so well with the bread as well! We both went for the slow cooked octopus, which came with crushed jacket potatoes. The octopus was so thick and it was delicious! It had so much flavour and wasn't chewy at all! Absolutely loved it! We said that if we ever came back to Lisbon, this would be one of the first restaurants we would eat at again. Bravo guys, and thank you for the wonderful meal!

My friend and I stopped here on a beautiful sunny afternoon for our last official meal of our trip which ended in Lisbon. Firstly, order the passion fruit sangria without hesitation. Refreshing, delicious, and packs a punch! Second, every dish we got was excellent and the portions were pretty big in comparison to other restaurants we visited during our stay. The service was friendly and attentive but not overbearing. We walked in right after they opened for the day, but if you’re planning on showing up a little later, I’d recommend a reservation as they filled up fast. (But they did offer people drinks as they waited for tables to open!).

If you’re looking for a good value and delicious place to eat in the historic centre of Lisbon this is a great option. We had the marinated sardines, cod a la bras (a fish type cake with fries and eggs) and the slow roasted octopus. Everything was high quality and tasted delicious. But the real star here was the service. Even though we had to wait 20 minutes for a table, the staff including our waiter Mauro were welcoming and referred to us by name, a special touch! Thanks for a great dinner Mauro, we’ll be back next visit to Lisbon

It is possible to find a table without reservation even though it's busy. It's a bit touristy but the food is good. We had lobster and sardines as the main course. I especially loved the tomato rice alongside the sardines. Sardines and lobster were also delicious. The beers we ordered with it were also a good pair with the food. However, not the best spot if you are looking for a more local spot.

Had a fantastic dinner at Maria Catita, Lisbon. Arrived late on Saturday night from a mid afternoon flight from London and was welcomed despite being full. Got in around 2100hrs and there was still small groups grabbing tables at 2200hrs! Service was excellent, so too was the food, drink, and atmosphere - octopus stew (the photo), sea bass, and a local red wine. Food is great value, well cooked, well presented, and very tasty!

We chanced upon this lovely restaurant on our way back to the airport. We went in primarily for Portuguese steak, which my wife said was fantastic. The atmosphere is very good, which seems to happen when everyone is enjoying their food and experience! I had their special sandwich, which was a challenging size, but very tasty. I would recommend this restaurant. The price was very keen too!

Brilliant restaurant, I came here on my first night and couldn't rate it more highly. Excellent value for money. I also went back for lunch and it was just as good. Would recommend the garlic prawns in particular. I've loved eating here and I'll definitely be back when I next come to Lisbon.

I enjoyed a fantastic dinner early Saturday evening. Was seated quickly despite it being a rainy Saturday. I ordered the drink special and the octopus, and followed that with a lovely chocolate cake and some port wine. Service was attentive and all the food was so fresh. Given the lovely service and quality of the dishes, the price was also very fair! Would highly recommend to all. Thank you!

We ordered tge tasting menu for 2 people, and house white wine. The food was great, staff was very friendly. The shrimp and octopus salad was sensational, however the lobster with seafood was a bit let down for us, because the lobster was overcooked, it was hard to chew and it was bland compare to the other dishes. Overall I recommend this restaurant.

We were walking by and the food smell was so good. So we just walked in and was able to be seated. Their staffs were very friendly and helpful. Restaurant was very nice and cute. Food was as expected, very tasty. Cataplana of Shellfish, Monkfish, and spiny lobster was amazing. The monkfish was very tasty. Catita's Shrimps al ajillo was tasty. Octopus a Lagareiro was very tender. Maria's minute steak was perfectly cooked and very tasty. Oh, Don't forget to try the green wine as well. Highly recommend this place!
