A friend and I made a reservation with this hotel. We sent an email requesting additional information about the car service and never received a response. Based on this lack of customer service and the advice of a friend, we made a reservation with another hotel and cancelled the reservation so far ahead of time that there as no cancellation fee. On the date of our arrival a car with our names and details arrived to pick us up. On the trip to "our" hotel, the driver casually mentions that she is affiliated with this hotel. We we shocked! We were not going to this hotel. We did not hire her or her company. Why did she have our personal information? (The hotel shared that we authorized them to share the data. We did...when we had a reservation). The car service charged us and told us to seek compensation from the hotel because "these things happen". The hotel tells me that we hired the car company so we should pay and our hotel, who was authorized to hire a car service on our behalf, should comp the service. Why would they comp it? Then they told me that two people clearly heard the driver announce she was taking us to the wrong destination and got in the car anyway. Really? Who would do this? The response from this hotel was laughably disingenuous at first. Then it became ridiculous. Avoid my mistake. If you cancel a reservation, confirm that any car sent is from YOUR hotel even if the person has your name, phone number, etc. The car could be from the hotel that you cancelled. Oh! And pay with a credit card. LOL!

Wonderful boutique hotel with all the comforts of home with added luxury, in our two bedroom suite apartment. It had a small kitchenette and living room with two bathrooms. The decor was contemporary and well balanced with quiet use of color and graphic pops of brighter shades and pattern. The furnishings were comfortable. The small spa was reservations only due to the pandemic which made it very peaceful. The sports massage was relaxing and is recommended. The women’s locker room has a tiny sauna and steam room but no towels. The rooftop restaurant has lovely views and the breakfast (the only meal we tried) is fresh and delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful. We would definitely return.

My experience at The Lumiares Hotel & Spa - Small Luxury Hotels Of The World was simply outstanding. The service was excellent, and the staff were extremely helpful, friendly, and accommodating. The breathtaking view from the terrace overlooking the entire city made my stay particularly memorable. The rooms were quiet and created a relaxed atmosphere, and the cleanliness throughout the hotel was absolutely top-notch. The hotel's location directly in the center was extremely convenient and allowed me to easily explore the surrounding attractions and the entire city on foot. Overall, The Lumiares Hotel & Spa exceeded my expectations, and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a luxurious and relaxing stay. I will definitely book the hotel again on my next visit.

I opted for the loft style room and was thoroughly impressed with its spaciousness and comfort. Despite being situated on the ground floor, the room remained remarkably quiet, shielding us from any street noise. The hotel staff were consistently delightful and accommodating, truly enhancing our overall experience.

I haven't stayed at this hotel yet and I'm sure it's lovely, my review here is based purely off the customer service I received from a phone call with the staff moments ago. The check in time for the rooms is 3pm, my flight into Lisbon tomorrow arrives at 10am. I simply called to ask if there was a possibility to check in at half 11/12 so that I wouldn't be waiting around for hours. I expressed that I was happy to pay for the additional 2 hours that I'd be using the room for. The hotel receptionist suggested that I book the hotel for the night beforehand so that I could guarantee the room available at the time I wanted. In short, pay an entire day's room fee for the privalage of showing up a little early. A 5 star establishment should be working to accommodate its guests wherever possible and this answer seems extremely lazy and greedy on the part of the hotel. Either tell me you don't have the room to accommodate my request so I can look elsewhere (they do have the room as my request is for tomorrow so they know there are unoccupied rooms available) or make me a reasonable offer based on the fact I'll be staying with you for multiple nights. I really hope I was just unlucky in talking to someone new and inexperienced as I found the whole conversation proposterous. Do better!

We had the perfect stay at this hotel. I would give it six stars if I could. We requested a quiet room as it is in a noisy part of the city and it was perfect (I don't know if you have to request a quiet room but it seemed like the obvious thing to do). The doors and windows were thick, solid and sound proof in the room we had. The staff were attentive, kind, and very professional. The location is second to none. The spa and treatments were incredible. The quality of the linens and the bed itself again were top quality. The apartment style and complimentary side bar were just perfect.

I had the pleasure of staying at this hotel for two nights in early November and I must say, the location is simply unbeatable. Not only is it in close proximity to a plethora of restaurants and shops, but it also boasts a stunning lookout point and the iconic Lisbon yellow tram stop is conveniently located right across the street. I opted for the loft style room and was thoroughly impressed with its spaciousness and comfort. Despite being situated on the ground floor, the room remained remarkably quiet, shielding us from any street noise. The hotel staff were consistently delightful and accommodating, truly enhancing our overall experience.

One of the best small boutique luxury hotels I’ve stayed, and such great value for Europe! The location is absolutely central, the hotel service is great and the rooftop bar is an oasis. Would definitely stay again whenever in Lisbon next!

Nice hotel, suite is very sober and poorly decorated. There is a noicy street that has lots of peeps till 01:00, so if you are a light sleeper avoid that side. Shower gives little water. Location is super and right in bairro alto. For me price and what you get was a bit off.

We had a wonderful stay at the Lumiares hotel. The staff was very friendly and exceptionally helpful. We had problem a with Air Portugal misplacing our luggage for a day, and the Lumiares staff went above and beyond interceding on our behalf with the airline. Additionally, the hotel itself is in a great location, nicely furnished and well appointed. The breakfast at the rooftop restaurant was excellent, and we enjoyed the drinks at sunset overlooking the city.

My wife and I treated ourselves to massages while in Lisbon, and Lumiares was excellent! Very friendly staff, gorgeous building, calming ambiance, and amazing massages. Highly recommend if you're visiting or living in Lisbon.

Definitely not a place I would stay in again. I will say the rooms are very clean (new bathrooms) but they are extremely small (I hit my head countless times in both the living room and bedroom on the ceiling). There is one tiny gym with one treadmill and even if you reserve your space at the gym there's a good chance you still won't fit in there. Although the staff is nice they provide no service, and if you have any questions regarding where to go/what to do the staff is absolutely clueless. Their claim to fame is the rooftop bar/restaurant, although they do have a friendly staff, the terrace is wayyyy too small and tight and requires reservations well in advance (irrespective of you being a hotel guest). I'm definitely staying somewhere else next time; this place is not worth it. Lastly, the hotel is right next to an extremely rowdy dive bar, which you can imagine the lovely sounds into late at night. Also, the main hotel door is literally in an alley and borders a sketchy-ish area. Definitely wouldn't stay there again. It is overpriced due to the above.

Could not have asked for a better hotel stay. The room was huge and very comfortable, the location was unbeatable...but what makes this place so great is the outstanding service from the team. They helped to arrange transport, unique (and last minute) experiences, great restaurant recommendations, etc.. Worth every penny from start to finish.

Loved our stay from beginning to end. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate anything we needed or wanted. In a perfect location, with beautiful miradouro (lookout point) just across the street. We especially loved the Lumi rooftop restaurant and also the pizza restaurant next door. The best part was the staff arranged a complimentary transfer service for pickup and drop off which was really helpful to make our trip stress-free. We absolutely loved our stay and would definitely stay here again if we're ever back in Lisbon!!

We unfortunately had a mediocre stay here for our honeymoon. It was just sooo loud at night with clubs playing music and people outside our window until early in the morning. The staff here is incredible and so helpful, breakfast was very good. The beds were okay. I am not sure you really need as much space they give you in the rooms, they are huge!

My friend and I recently got a 2-bedroom suite at The Lumaires for our girls trip in Lisbon. The property is conveniently located and was within walking distance of everywhere we wanted to go. More than anything we LOVED the style/decor. Our apartment was so tastefully well-appointed that it looked like it could be an inspiration on HGTV. Everything in the apartment worked and we slept great in the comfy beds. The staff was always helpful and friendly, and my friend had one of the best massages of her life at the spa. We also LOVED the rooftop bar! I'm a travel journalist, and I wrote Travel & Leisure's guide to Lisbon. I'm so glad I included The Lumaires in my hotel recommendations!

Amazing location. Lumi rooftop is fantastic, staff is very friendly and our suite was comfortable and spacious. Spa is great. The only con was small gym. It should be bigger.

Nice boutique hotel we had beautiful suite but good luck to find the hotel parking garage but at least they have self parking which is a plus. The roof top restaurant is elegant with a nice view of the city

The Lumiares is the perfect Lisbon hotel for unpretentious good service, food and rooms. We had a suite on the 4th floor and although it had no view (most of the rooms don’t because of the nature of the buildings and streets), it was large comfortable and well set out with a full kitchen, living room, bedroom and bathroom. The Lumi roof restaurant was lovely if slightly lacking in depth on the menu. Breakfasts were also held there and I have to give a shout out to the breakfast chef who made some of the lightest and delicious omelettes I have had in a long time! All the staff were exceedingly friendly and could not do enough for you. The location at the top of Barrrio alto places the hotel in the heart of the city and the night life action - if that’s is what you want. Hundreds of bars and restaurants to choose from for every taste and wallet. Deffo one of our favourite hotels and cities…..we will be back!!

We have traveled in too many countries but the 2 hotels we stayed at Portugal had an outstanding service , the front desk personnel were super nice and helpful. The hotel is right in the center of the city within walking distance to anywhere in Lisbon, great restaurant inside . If I ever go back to Lisbon Lumiares will be our choice

This is a great hotel in a wonderful area. Our one room apartment room is great except the bed is a bit too firm and the pillows are not good quality. They provided a baby crib and baby bathtub which I really appreciated!

It started of great and it turns out it isn’t how it seems. I booked this hotel because I would have a lengthy stay. I needed space and accommodation for this. The day I arrived I liked my room. I notice that it was not as cool in temperature but the room was spacious so I tried to adjust. The third day, reception informed me that they were having problems with the air conditioning unit and it will not be properly fix that day so they suggested that I should move to another room. After returning from my day I was downgraded to a very small, dark room. I went to speak to them downstairs and four employees behind the desk all refused to acknowledge my discomfort. I will not recommend this hotel at all. Very disappointed in how I am being treated.

This definitely lived up to it's 5 stars! The whole boutique hotel felt very luxe and grand, the interior was amazing. You also have to check out their rooftop patio, whether it be for breakfast, lunch, dinner or just drinks, the view is absolutely amazing!! Our hotel was very clean and spacious. We also loved that it came with a lot of different amenities such as a Smeg toaster, microwave etc. The hotel is also right beside a very popular restaurant as well as a cafe spot where you can do your work (if you're on a business trip), so everything was just so convenient. Just be careful when going out as the sidewalks are very narrow!

What an amazing small luxury hotel. This is probably one of the best luxury boutique hotels i have stayed in. They even upgraded me to the suite which was a truly exceptional experience. Everything in the apartment is new and works awesome. Extremely clean and tidy. All the extras and the amenities are there. You don’t need anything. And the bed is amazing. The staff is very kind and professional. Even in this tough covid times they really made my stay truly enjoyable.

I had the most wonderful stay at The Lumiares, beyond anything I expected! The room was beautifully decorated with separate lounge and kitchenette area. It was so quiet! Even the gym was perfect and well equipped. The staff was exceptionally helpful and catered to all my needs with the best disposition and kindness. The location of this hotel could not be better, within walking distance of everything. I am so pleased I picked this hotel for my first trip to Lisbon, I will definitely be back!!

We stayed at Lumiares around the end of April - we wish we had stayed here longer! The location was absolutely perfect - for me location is very important especially when travelling to foreign countries, because I don't like to waste so much time mapping out my journey for each day, so being able to step out and pretty much go to all the great food spots within a matter of seconds was great. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, we were a bit confused at first where the main entrance was, but the whole building is wonderful and beautiful. Our room had a bit of a Parisian vibe with the style of windows, which was pretty cool. Decor and room was bright and eclectic, and room was clean. Overall I enjoyed my experience here, and would come again.

My review is for the spa only. Had a fantastic massage and lovely experience. There is a little steam and sauna room in the changing rooms which we were able to use before our treatments. Very nice toiletries were also available for our use Staff are extremely professional. Our massages were absolutely brilliant. The spa is highly recommended!

Outstanding perfect service ! The complete service personnel in the hotel was outstanding and extremely friendly. My wife needed milk without lactose which was provided just for her. The hotel is modern and everything is clean, with small gym, well located, we could reach most places and restaurants by walking. Just in the night due to excessive noise from people outside the hotel sometimes we were unable to sleep before 3 am although the window was completely closed.

We ate at the rooftop, the food was delicious, bar far the best we have eaten on our trip so far. The views were amazing. Staff went beyond to make us happy and get us a good table. We loved it, when we come back to Lisbon this is a MUST!

The Lumiares is a 5 star luxury hotel. In the heart of Lisbon, everywhere was within easy walking distance. The rooftop restaurant for breakfast was superb. Lots of quality selections. Rooftop was also fun to have a drink before turning in for the night. Highly recommended.

Everything about this place is special. The location is great, that's a given. The rooftop bar is brilliant. The room was beautiful and totally perfect but what makes this place five star is the staff. Absolutely faultless throughout. Its the best hotel we have ever stayed at.

Friendly, kind and helpful staff, the most amazing breakfast on the rooftop and a perfect location - we walked everywhere! - the hotel is also very stylish and well decorated. A really luxurious and laidback stay - we would absolutely love to return (soon!)

Amazing SPA! It was really by chance that we had the opportunity to enjoy a massage at the hotel spa and we did not regret it. Amazing massage (hot stones), expert and welcoming staff. One of the Best massage we have ever had! Many thanks!

The Spa @ The Lumiares, Lisbon I want to express my gratitude to the lovely staff at The Spa @ The Lumiares for the beautiful massage and facials booked for our group of 4 for a friend’s birthday on Sunday, 18 Sept 2022 from 3pm. An extra special thank you to the amazing reception lady (I’m sorry I didn’t remember your name), who took care of every detail with a big smile on her face and went above & beyond in getting us a 2 hour table booking on the rooftop bar (Lumi) when we couldn’t get a booking (after trying 2 weeks in advance). Muito Obrigado

Great place to stay in the heart of Chiado. Suites are very comfortable and well appointed. Will definitely become our mainstay for Lisbon weekends. The pizza restaurant downstairs is excellent and the rooftop terrace has lovely views.

We had an amazing 10 night stay at this wonderful small luxury hotel. I could go on about the perfection in units (we had 2 bedroom and 1 bedroom units for our family) — but what was truly exceptional was service: front staff, room service (took care of food allergy requirements), housekeeping, spa — everyone was so competent and friendly — we are left with very happy memories. This is where we will stay again when visiting Lisbon.
