I stayed in a 10 bed mixed dorm. The staff was great, very welcoming and friendly. The bunks were solid, had privacy curtains, and were comfortable. The whole place was clean and the lockers were a good size. The showers had plenty of hot water and good water pressure and I never waited for a bathroom or shower. The breakfast was buffet style and was good value. The main lounge/kitchen area was large, well laid out and a good social space. The biggest downside to this place is how stuffy and hot it was. The bathroom/shower area had amazing air flow with the windows open. So did the front bar/lobby area. But the rooms and the main lounge area were SO stuffy, there was zero air flow and it made sleeping difficult. It is for this reason that I likely would not stay again.

Joao was cool. Very friendly. Perhaps the friendliest of all from the reception crew. The girls who clean the rooms and bathroom are very nice and I've enjoyed talking to them. The hostel is nice location-wise. The rooms had plastic curtains that were nice but noisy when you hit during the night. The hostel had a nice common area and a kitchen. It's more of a hotel feel though. All in all, a good stay for me.

One of best hostel in my experience of travelling over 40 countries. The vibe of common space wins hands down. Nothing special about the rooms but what stands out is their common area open kitchen bar and staff courtesy. Marco was worth a mention for his friendly talk and help. The bar prices are rightly priced so there is I really reason to step out for a beer 🍺. The breakfast is €8 which has to be paid my only cash (unsure of the reason) which is definitely worth the price. May be some more fruits and scramble eggs could be added. Overall an excellent stay and definitely value for the money. Location is perfect and need to pay attention on the Google maps as this is on level 2.

This was my first experience in a hostel and it was amazing! The staff were all super friendly and welcoming and the space was gorgeous. My first interaction with João and Catarina instantly made me feel at home. Also as a solo female traveller I felt completely safe staying there. There’s enough of a social atmosphere that you can meet people, but you can also have a quiet space if you need. 10/10 would recommend to anyone!!

Lisbon Destination was the best experience I’ve had staying in a hostel with a very friendly and relaxing atmosphere. The common area atrium was extremely cozy, filled with welcoming travelers, and provided everything needed for a comfortable stay. João at the front desk is an excellent host - extremely helpful when we had flight issues - and made the experience better than expected. The location is perfect as well, walking distance to key sites and surrounded by entertainment… if you even feel like leaving the hostel.

The hostel has great common areas with multiple conversation groupings. We paid for the breakfast option and enjoyed the convenience and variety of items offered. Staff is extremely friendly and very helpful. Catarina was especially good about remembering our names and preferences. Beds were comfortable, but the privacy screens on the beds in our dorm seemed fragile and could be noisy. Loved the individual lights and USB ports for each bunk. We booked a tour of Sintra through the hostel that was excellent and so convenient.

Great rooms for price & lovely main area. We had a private room, but still enjoyed the hostel vibe. Great area to work/chill/nap/socialise! No one seems to mention the location is literally inside the train station 😂 which is actually so handy if you want to visit Sintra. Place to leave bags if you arrive early & on check out Staff so helpful and friendly, including asking if anything could be improved about the experience while you’re there, which I thought was a nice touch.

Easily one of the greatest hostels I've ever stayed at. It's really tidy, the staff is very friendly, the atmosphere is lovely, and the beds have privacy curtains which is a great plus. João was very helpful in answering all of our inquiries and offering us sound guidance on where to go and what to do. This hostel is excellent; if I'm ever in Lisbon again, I'll stay here without a doubt. Oh and did I mention there are plants EVERYWHERE?! So cool!

Hands down the most fun and friendliest hostel I’ve EVER stayed in. From the moment I walked in I felt so welcome and at home. Great staff, clean rooms, great facilities and events run by the hostel. The most friendly staff. Massive shout out to bartenders Kim and Sam and Jerome, Felipe, Marco, Katerina and P. And of course to the volunteers who cleaned my bed and served me breakfast — yes you Hannah and Alessandria! I will be back!

Amazing staff, incredible location! I didn't come to Lisbon with any expectations, but everything was perfect. The location of the hotel was "literally" great! You can walk everywhere, public transportation is right next to you. The staff at the hostel were incredibly friendly and did their best to make my stay easier. Special thanks to Tommy ❤️ The hostel was also much cleaner than I expected. I met great people and had a great time. If I come back to Lisbon I will definitely stay in the same place! Thank yoouu! 😍

I had such a great experience! The crew were amazing, so welcoming and kind. Best place for solo trips but also great for groups I come from the tourism industry and also work in a hostel chain and i can tell you, this hostel is one of the best. It is clean, beautiful, special and warm. The stuff were the best and gave me the most amazing recommendations:) Thank you so much!

I absolutely loved my stay here. I absolutely can't fault it. Super friendly staff and there are events in the evenings if you'd like to meet people. It's part of a train station so the location itself during the night is really quiet. Absolutely FULL of plants and it's very environmentally friendly. Can't fault it, will be back when I come to Lisbon again 🤗

The location is very near to the metro station and there are lots of restaurants and things to see within walking distance. My complaint is with almost everything else inside the room. We booked a private room and the bathroom smelled of mould/mildew. The door handle for the bathroom was loose and there is no lock. The shower head holder fell out of the wall and in the process the shower head fell down on me mid shower. The soap dispenser in the washroom is mounted at an angle and since their soap is a spray it’s extremely hard to use. They have a hair dryer in the bathroom but after using it for 5 minutes it over heats and turns itself off you then have to wait for it to completely cool down before using it again. They advertise laundry service for a fee however when we went to utilize it we were informed the washers and dryers were not working. They have rules posted on the back of the door when you arrive and one of them is you may not EAT or DRINK in your room. They expect each time you want to have a drink or snack you go downstairs to the lobby. Overall very dissatisfied with our stay.

The staff are friendly and helpful and the hostel itself is nice, however my bed was changed after the first night and I wasn't told. This led to an awkward interaction when I got back and found that some of my things were missing and someone else had moved into my space. My new bed also didn't have a fan like the previous one. I also felt like some of the facilities could have been better kept, there was a couple of occasions where toilet paper and soap was missing.

Location couldn't be better, arriving from the airport is simple and the beautiful Lisbon downtown is just around the corner! The overall quality is amazing: neat rooms, spacious safe lockers, clean bathroom area. For me the highlight was the green common area with good music, plants everywhere and possibility to meet up with other guests :)

Such a lovely hostel. Gorgeous communal space, a variety of interesting social activities, super friendly staff, well-equipped kitchen, and really comfy beds that you just sink into. Best night's sleep I've had in a long time. Also really clean, really secure, really central. Cannot recommend enough!!

A place where I have met some very special individuals and made some life long friends. The staff will go out of their way to meet your every need and make you feel comfortable. A special mention to the front staff Leslie, Felipe, William, Ramon and Kim. The hostel is centrally located, very clean and great rooms. The facilities are great and very clean! Shout out to the breakfast which is delicious and great value. This is my second stay and I will definitely come back for my future stays in beautiful Lisboa. Luis.

I absolutely loved my stay here!! The hostel staff was so friendly and they really made the place feel like home. The hostel is nice and clean and the events they organize are also very fun and a nice way to get to know your environment and the other hostel guests. Special thanks to João for being the greatest host ever and to Tommy for being the greatest bartender ever 😄

It’s a good option for the price. The rooms are quite clean although the showers are gross and broken. Also it’s a pain that the toilet paper is behind you above your head on the wall. But the location is great and so were the staff! It’s actually inside this incredible train station building which is so cool.

Hey there! Just had an awesome stay at the Lisbon Destination Hostel, and I can’t help but gush about it! 🌟 The vibes were top-notch, and Tommy, oh my goodness, made our time there absolutely fantastic! 🙌 His friendly spirit and attention to detail took our experience to the next level. I’d totally recommend this spot to anyone looking for a good time! Big shoutout to Tommy and the incredible hostel team! 👏

The hostel is located inside Rossio train station and it's very good location to visit and explore the city. There is a big living room with billiard. I was there in December so it was a bit cold at night as there was no heating in the room. Bed was quite comfortable. On the whole it's good accommodation if you are backpacking in Lisbon.

The most beautiful hostel I’ve ever stayed at. Felt like a tropical jungle every time I came back. It was always clean and smelled good, and located in a beautiful part of Lisbon, close to everything. Would highly recommend for anyone passing through Lisbon.

This is such a nice hostel! It has really relaxed vibes. Super welcoming staff, especially Tatiana, Martini and Jaouo. The rooms and facilities were clean. The breakfast was excellent. And they had lots.of activities to help people make friends and enjoy their stay. We enjoyed the tapas and sangria night. The pub crawl was fun and of course karaoke was great! What i really liked was the location and how willing the staff were to talk to you. Also it was really cool that they have a sister hostel sunset which was cool to go to for more party vibes and then we could stay here for the relaxed times. 100% i would recommend this hostel for anyone wanting to have a great time in Lisbon

This hostel is absolutely gorgeous. If you’re a plant lover, you will be obsessed. Wonderful people and staff. Sam was so awesome, pushing us to try new things and being a friend for the rest of our trip. My favorite hostel I have ever been to yet!!

First time staying at a hostel and had a great experience! Staff, especially, Joao, was so friendly and very accommodating! Loved the plant vibes and the whole feel of the hostel. Major points that it’s centrally located and very close to metro!

Perfect choice of accommodation for a 7-day stay in Lisbon. Joao along with his day colleagues are so helpful (night staff not so much, maybe they’re all sleepy, not welcoming nor smiling)! Joao had made up for it tho, for his jolly character!! Best place to stay! 10/10 for the location!!!

This was my first experience at a hostel and was blown away. I stayed in a single private room. The room had a twin bed, night stand, tv, desk, a place to hang clothes, air conditioning, a balcony, and even a mini fridge with snacks. The top floor seemed to be more for the private rooms and the ground floor for the dorm rooms. It was never loud at night and slept comfortably. The single bathroom near my room was rarely occupied and I found it easy to share. Everything was clean and well taken care of. I was surprised when they even could do a load of laundry for me for a minimal fee. What a great surprise. I pre-purchased the breakfast when I booked my room and it was well worth the money. It was a simple but everything I could need. Breakfast was also a great time to meet the other folks staying there and finding out what everyone was up to for the day. The hostel is in a train station but I never heard or felt the trains. It is also close to all of the main attractions in Lisbon. Also very close to the metro. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

The staff are super friendly and welcoming. Thais was really helpful at reception and always went out of her way to provide info/ideas on restaurants/things todo. Tatiana was very entertaining at the bar and made the space feel very inclusive. Martini done a great job facilitating the pub crawls. Overall I had a great experience and would recommend!

the hostel is in the centre of lisbon, which is great! also the staff is very welcoming and i met a lot of great people there :) if it’s your first time in a hostel also know that you always feel safe in the shared bedroom! the only bad thing is about how clean the bathrooms are, the AC was off for our whole trip in our bathroom and hairs tend to be everywhere… but i mean considering the price it’s okay! would recommend 8/10

Destination Hostel in Lisbon is one of the best hostels in Lisbon if you ask me. The excellent location means it's a crawling distance away from the train to Sintra (worth visiting). The hostel hosts are lovely people and if you don't want to go for a pub crawl every night but just have a drink, play a game of pool or do some karaoke this is the hostel for you! Totally recommend this place

  • 5/5 Abi N. 10 months ago on Google
Amazing hostel with extremely friendly staff, the beds are relatively private to the rest of the room. Fantastic location with everything nearby or a short metro ride away. Would definitely stay again, perfect for the price!

By far the best hostel I’ve ever stayed at. EVERYTHING was amazing. The staff put a lot of effort into making sure that there is a social environment with fun events every night All spaces (bedrooms, bathrooms, common areas, etc) are kept very clean. I can’t thank the team at Lisbon destination hostel enough for how amazing my stay was

Great location, and lovely staff. Unfortunately our water completely stopped working on and off for the first day, the staff were lovely and gave us a free breakfast. We were a couple and had a private room with en-suite. The bathroom was extremely small and smelled of damp. The shower was tiny and the water pressure was awful. The temperature of the water was barely warm let alone hot. Could have done with more plugs next to the bed, there was only one meaning you had to unplug the lamp to plug in your phone. The AC system was very noisy meaning you couldn't use it at night so it got very hot in the room, and to use it you had to stick the pipe out of the open room door which let in lots of noise from the communal areas. But on the plus side, a great location being in the very central Rossio station (although be warned you can hear the trains), and it would be a great hostel for meeting people as a solo traveller.

  • 3/5 Maria E. 2 years ago on Google
It was clean, staff was friendly, breakfast was pretty good actually (eggs, granola, cow and soy milk, breads, cheese, meat, ...). The common area is nice too - lol of plants as you see on the pictures. But it gets a little hot during the day, and the common area is just not big enough for such a big hostel imo. Location is great - little noisy at night obviously.

We arrived in Lisbon with vacancies in all the places we were interested in staying, so we decided to check them out in person before choosing. This hostel is in a GREAT location and Joao was amazing. He was kind and helpful to us, as well as everyone I overheard him deal with. He offered a better rate than our booking apps and offered us great advice for whichever experience we were looking to have that day. Our first stay was a great experience. We returned about a week later to stay a couple days before our return flight. Simply put, had we not already had a good report with Joao, we would have not returned here after the second booking experience. But all in all, those people weren't worth knocking the facility or the excellent employees, specifically Joao & Ramon. The facility: Location prioritized. Standard for most hostels I've stayed in in various countries. They offer a lock box and more privacy in mixed dorms. They were also diligent with cleaning to combat the elements. However, have cash on hand to purchase anything they offer in the cooler 😉. If out after hours, someone does have to physically come to base level to open the door and take you back up the elevator. I do recommend staying here, especially for English-speaking travels. I will book again with them in the future.

One of the best hostel I did on my traveling A good atmosphere a good vibe! The team work of the hostel is very kind and helpful! And has good indications for activities and food in town! The hostel is very clean and secure! If I come back to Lisbone , I will definitely stay only in this hostel ✌🏼

One of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed in. Everything is very clean, the kitchen is spacious and good equipped and especially the staff is amazing. They really care about making you feel at home and are always there to help you with anything you might need. Also, the location is perfect to explore Lisbon, everything is within walking distance from the hostel. Would definitely recommend staying there! Prices are really fair for what they offer. Hope to be back soon :D

The best things about this hostel are its location and staff (shout out to William, who was always willing to help). The breakfast was ok. As other previous guests said before, the bathrooms are a bit tiny, making it difficult to take showers or just to even change clothes. But overall, if you get a good price (I've paid 15 euros per night), it is definitely worth it.

We evaluated a few hostels prior to choosing this one. It has a fun, friendly open floor plan but yet divided areas to still keep the cozy vibe. All of the staff members are super nice! The only thing I would recommend is USB port charging at the beds like I’ve had at other hostels. The showers are not spacious (like to be expected) in many European countries. We met so many nice people! 5-stars!! The bar here is an added bonus!! Cheers!! 🍻

Very cool and comfy communal areas with glass ceilings, velvet couches, great music and hundreds of living house plants 😍 Kitchen is huge and has everything you need. Big, affordable breakfast option. Lots of dining space. You never feel like you’re in other peoples way. Great wifi. Nightly activities there and the sister hostel by the bay. Walking distance to nearly everything. Cheap beer and wine available for purchase. Everything is super clean. Staff is amazing. Feels very safe. Rooms and lockers with keys. Comfy beds. The decor is gorgeous, trendy, and modern. Can’t recommend it enough.

Who put 1 star probably are not used to hostels. You are sleeping with other 9 people, some stuff could go wrong it's obvious. The place is amazing, the staff is super friendly and helpful. You will meet so many people here, perfect for solo travellers and groups. Best hostel in lisbon.

This hostel is amazing. It is central and close to everything you need, clean, welcoming and beautiful. The thing that makes this place special though is the sense of community. It became a home away from home for me, and for many of the other guests I had h pleasure of staying with. The staff is excellent, William and Leslie, Joao and Ramon, the whole crew are fantastic. I will absolutely return, and can’t wait to do so. This is a place you won’t forget. Best hostel I have ever stayed at

Great hostel overall. My only complaint is that the bathroom always stinks like mildew. But they have free daily walking tours and events in the evenings. The staff were always friendly and helpful, and the other guests were very nice. I stayed in one of the pods for about a week and a half. They offer laundry for 7.50 euro, but be mindful that it takes a long time, so drop off in the morning. Towels are available for 2 euro.

A jungle in an old train station. That's how special this place is. From the moment you enter this place, you can already feel that you are about to have a great time. Healthy plants everywhere, smiling hosts and volunteers, great music all day and so many places to hang out. I just spent one night there because it was already full the following days and I felt sad to leave this place. It's the kind of place that makes you stay longer in a city. Met a lot of people in record time and got free food during "finger food night". Also, I spent a whole day doing nothing under the plants. After a week of city hollidays, it was just perfect. The room was super clean and it was really good to sleep in those "capsule like" beds. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a special, young and relaxed atmosphere, especially for solo travelers and backpackers.

Nice hostel. Good facilities with everything you need. Amazing space to chill out and a decent kitchen/dining area. Bar with cocktails is nice touch. Location is fantastic to see the sights of Lisbon.

Lisbon Destination Hostels is located inside the Rossio station that takes you to Sintra. It is located in a very convenient location- About 10 minutes walk to the bar areas, waterfront, etc. However, the hostel itself is ok. I was in a mixed dorm room and it was smelly. The plastic cover for each bed's privacy is extremely noisy- when someone accidentally hits it in their sleep or when they open the door. The shared bathroom for the second floor is extremely small. It is not a social hostel. There's not enough places to sit. A few of the chairs can use an upgrade, especially in the bar area.

  • 5/5 Sara B. 1 year ago on Google
A friend and I stayed here in May 2022 for our first international travel adventure! They were so friendly and the staff made everything so easy for us. They allow early luggage drop off and they can hold your luggage after check out. We stayed in an all female dorm and the girls in our room were so nice, everyone was very respectful. 10/10 would visit here again!! They also collaborate with the sister hostel, sunset, and host events and bar crawls throughout the week.

Ok, before i continue, this IS a hostel, this IS one of most affordable places to stay at in Lisbon, and it is as central as possible. Having that said, and out of the way it shouldn't be dificult to realize why i give it 5 stars. I guess people will always find something to complain about, but the rooms are sweet, there was some effort that went into the design and it shows. I appreciate this a lot. It is clean, has incredibly cute vibe to it. Probably because of mostly young (and young feeling) people that stay and work here. Employees' English is on exceptional level. They are incredibly nice, cute and professional. Somehow, this place made me feel 20 years younger, and i thank you kind people of Destination Hostel for this. I could probably find dozens of things to complain about, but i simply don't have hart to even think about those. Thank you for being remarkable hosts, and to you dear reader, please be kind to these people and give them a chance, they truly deserve it.

In total, a good stay for a good price (if you book a couple of months in advance). Pros: the bunk beds are good (the hotel-type of pillows always annoy me but the mattress was ok), the location is excellent (two bus stops to the airport nearby, but be careful if you walk around late at night/early in the morning; multiple tourist attraction points nearby), you can leave your bags at the venue before the check in, good showers (make sure to bring your towel if you don't want to rent it). Cons: it was way too hot in the dorm rooms (it was written they turn on the a/c at night but it didn't feel like they did), Mr Joao was extremely talkative (I'm probably just introverted after the pandemic lol), people partying even though there was a sign with 'silent hours.'

  • 2/5 V W. 1 year ago on Google
Pros: clean rooms, lots of plants, centrally located. Cons: booked 4 nights in a dorm, the last night I suddenly had to move to a different bed and room? Also, no WiFi in the room. No working kettle in the kitchen; kitchen was poorly equipped in general. Music was often played loudly, so it wasn’t so nice to chill in the chill area. Unfriendly receptionist. All in all I checked out one night earlier cause I didn’t want to stay longer.

This hostel is top of the line. Spent 9 nights here. It is centrally located, clean, safe, and affordable. The bed comes with linens and pillow, but bring your own towel. Hostel plans several events, make sure to attend some!

We stopped for two nights in this family look like hostel. The atmosphere is probably my favourite part. All staff were excellent and very accommodating, specially administrator Joao. Little things like getting an advice about where to go or asking about the country where are you coming, or keeping conversation with all customers at any age from Joao. Most friendly and helpful receptionist ever, so lovely and great first impression of hostel and Portugal at all. Hostel was very clean. Back to the hostel - we would recommend stopping here. The hostel is a bit dated but very clean with a huge interior garden where peaceful plants climb the walls and wrap benches in a soft embrace. There’s is pool table, tennis rackets and plenty other entertainment items for your gathering. Even if you want to sit and read there’s a place to do that amidst all the fun to be had. Location of the hostel is excellent, close proximity to city centre and in the middle of the train station. It is like from Harry Potter movie where you are getting mystery train. Room was very clean, shower was modern and was enough shelves, sockets. The best part was left at the end, little postal where one side is review questionary and on other side is Lisbon travel planer or adviser. This is probable the best marketing trick that I have ever met and would recommend to each accommodation place to have. Bravo! Highly recommended to everyone without any doubt. Forgot to mention that it very safe and reasonably value for money. This hotel has forever found a special place in the heart of our family ❤️!

I would give negative rating if I could. Utter garbage for its price (it is more costly than the average hostel). Smelly room, the bunked beds are lined with some cheap plastic boards meant for insulation which ironically makes loud noise whenever you touch it lightly. Dirty bathrooms. Got a breakfast-included booking but turned out no breakfast for two days. Most importantly, the staff is incompetent and dishonest. They claimed that they had a problem with my payment and they would certainly cancel my reservation within 24 hours. I thought they canceled it (since I didn't do anything about re-payment) but it turns out they did not, they emailed me to check-in a few days prior to travel when I have already booked another hostel. We, at last, chose to stick with Destination Hostel because the other one has a flexible cancellation. Turns out it is a regrettable decision.

Really excellent place to stay. You can’t find a better location to see the old city in Lisbon. The hostel is very clean, lots of mixer events, very cool friendly people, decent breakfast, soundproofing in the rooms, friendly staff. João was a king, gave good recommendations and took care of us. Everything you could want is here.

One of the best hostels I have been to, It was so warm and welcoming and it is easy to socialise. The hostel staff especially Tatiana and Martini were super friendly and helpful and gave lots of great recommendations during my stay. I loved it so much I extended my stay!

Fantastic hostel! The friendly and personable staff members (such as Martini, João, Tatiana, and many others) made me and my friends' stay in Lisbon extremely enjoyable. Very central location and chill atmosphere. I recommend it to everyone!

Perfect hostel in the city center! I have spent a week here, and still wanted to stay longer. The friendly welcoming staff, the very clean space and overal chill ambience made this the perfect stay for me in Lisbon. Joáo and Martini made my stay especially memorable. Very friendly people, good at problem solving, and were there when I needed help. Highly recommended to stay here. My favorite hostel so far. ( Pub Crawls are recommended too! Martini knows this city very well)

This hostel was gorgeous!! I never heard the trains and it was convenient to get to Sintra and other day trips for us. Location was great and the people that worked here were wonderful. Sam made our stay really fun with karaoke, providing good and helpful information and making us feel very welcome. I believe her name is Catalina (not sure) but she was very nice to us and helped with our luggage issues. If I return to Portugal, I will be staying here again.

It was an amazing experience and exactly what I needed and I expected. The place was clean and the vibe and whole idea of the place was unique. The staff were really friendly and helpful, especially Marko, he helped me so much with the check-in and the introduction to my room and the facilities, give this man a raise! Overall I had a great stay and I would for sure come back here if I visit Lisbon again.
