My husband and I happened to stop in the hotel bar on a Monday night and were so happy we did! The bar is fairly new and did not have a cocktail menu. Well, no worries- our bartender was the only menu needed! We did not speak much Portuguese but he spoke wonderful English and, after he listened to our descriptions of the kind of cocktails we enjoyed, made us some of the finest, most unique drinks we've ever had. We had two cocktails each and all four were totally different. This place is a must for good drinks in Lisbon!

Cabernet experience here was great - we had so much fun. The tickets were a really good price for such great seats, a show and a delicious meal. The portion sizes were filling and the plates were beautifully presented. The staff were accommodating to our dietary requirements and the service was fast. Really nice way to spend an evening if you’re in town for a few nights and fancy something a bit different

In a word: fabulous! Very cool place. Excellent decor, superb service, fantastic entertainment, delicious food, and lovely patio area. Charming, fun, and sexy burlesque-themed rooms and entertainment. Very good breakfast buffet. I stayed in the Dressing Room. Absolutely charming, spacious, clean, with great views and comfortable bed. Not only all that, but the location is excellent as well, in the old part of town, with old, beautiful houses and businesses. I can't say enough good things about this place! I highly recommend it.

The maxim hotel is a very nice and friendly place. The facility is good designed and match the name perfect. You get a high quality breakfast and some shows direct in the hotel. We enjoyed our 4 night stay.

Had a decent experience overall. The rooms won't win any awards for space or soundproofing, but what they lack in those departments, the hotel more than makes up for with its prime location. Staff are on their A-game, super helpful. Worth considering if you prioritize location and service over room size.

We had an overall pleasant stay at the hotel. The only issue was with the AC, which we had it running at night. Halfway through the night, we woke up to the strong smell of cigarette smoke even though all the windows were closed. The hotel staff said that AC pulls air from the courtyard. So if someone were smoking there, we would get the smell of smoke inside. My partner is asthmatic so we will not be staying here again.

My second time here. I can't believe that our second stay COULD be better than the first, but it was. I have dietary requirements, and I received exceptional care from Maria and her team. The gluten-free and dairy free pancakes were the fluffiest ever too. My husband was given exceptional care, as a guest as well. The location of the hotel is perfect. Really close to the metro and a ten minute walk to Rossio train station. We will return to Lisbon and we will stay here again.

Uniquely decorated rooms. I just loved them. Good quality soaps, shower gel, body lotion etc. Few minutes from the Avenida metro stop of the blue line. Our room had a lovely view of a square. Very clean as well. If I would ever visit Lisbon I would stay in this hotel.

I had not had any better guesting experience (not only in Lisbon but elsewhere) recently. Staff is very much welcoming, merrily helpful and nice. Ambient, forniture and graphics is always reminding previous cabaret and night club location and its original and full of humor. Breakfast really various and abundant and also celiac friendly. I really recommend this stay in Lisbon.

The rooms are very clean, beds are comfortable. Toilets and bathrooms are easy and spacious. The staff is very helpful and friendly. This was my first time in hotel Maxime and so far one of the bedt properties in Lisbon to stay. I would highly recommend.

Nice location and good breakfast. The bed was comfortable and the room dark (I like this so I can sleep late). The room we got had absolutely no closet, just some random hangers but no space to take out closing and no space to place the suitcases, we found this very inconvenient and the main reason for not giving 5 stars.

Thank you so much to the staff at this hotel for making our stay just perfect! Breakfast was amazing, the room was stunning and clean and the location is brilliant! From the bar staff, the cleaners, the concierge and breakfast staff. Just perfect!

Fantastic hotel. Everyone is super friendly, and even the house keeping gave me free water anytime I asked. Location is very close to the metro, and plenty of high end stores as well as restaurants around. One thing we learned is better to do online reservations to eat everywhere. Room itself is ok, wish there was little more room for desk to work on. Breakfast everyday is the same, but fantastic food. Loved it. Overall, fantastic hotel. Would book again.

Great service, clean, and economical. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were spacious. The hotel is in a nice location too and a few minutes from the metro blue line stop.

Fabulous and for food intolerances catered for superbly. SO MUCH choice before you even let them know you have extra requirements.when they do omg. I can't tell you how fabulous these staff are. 10/10 I'm now on my third breakfast and each day they shower me with more choice than I could ever imagine. They even got a smoothie drink for me and provided a bag and cups for me to take away and finish. Saving waste ☺️ I would recommend letting the hotel know before your stay of any dietary requirements as they were upset that my first breakfast I had no choice. Thing is I was already overwhelmed with choice from their standard buffet ! This hotel is fantastic 😊 Maria and Luis are so accommodating and SO smiley. They are the BEST. Thank you Maxime Hotel.

Overall we did not get the room we booked. We paid over $350 and was give an $85 room. My husband and I booked through Expedia and specifically chose the bondage room. We arrived at 10:00 a.m. and left our bags at the hotel while we explored the city. When we got back and proceeded to check in after 3:00 p.m., they gave us room keys. When entering our room we noticed it was completely different from the pictures and went downstairs to settle everything. The employees were very nice however we were getting the runaround. We were placed in a standard room which was a big difference in both price and comfort. The standard room bed was very uncomfortable, the room is small and toilets are even lower quality compared to the specialty rooms. The front desk told us it was Expedia's fault and we just had to wait. After I reached out to Expedia myself, they tried calling the hotel multiple times who didn't answer so then emailed asking for a partial or full refund since we recieved the wrong room. Around 9pm the front desk told us we could either use the difference at the resturant and bar (we were flying our the next morning so not an option) or sleep in the dressing room since the hotel will not be issuing a refund even though they should have just refunded the difference in price. The dressing room was very nice, much more spacious and comfortable. I imagine by looking at the price it was comparable to the bondage room and we were very happy we could change rooms. We enjoyed the burlesque decor. Breakfast is at 8pm which I think should start earlier so we could have participated. They have dinner and a show which is a really neat option if you are wanting to eat at the hotel!

Hotel is in very good localisation. Rooms are nice and clean. The breakfasts were very good. But the greatest value is the staff. From people at the reception, through people serving breakfast to cleaning service. Thank you so much for their work and hospitality.

Very friendly front desk. Great daily room cleaning service. Elegant breakfast. Room is exotically decorated. I wish the room could be larger and have workable safe as well as more storage. Look to stay again next time.

I didn't end up staying at this hotel due to a medical emergency resulting in a cancelled holiday. My review therefore only relates to their communication, which was sub-standard. I contacted them direct twice to cancel the booking and a car booking from the airport. I was particularly worried that the driver would be hanging around at the airport for guests who didn't show. I received no reply, just a full charge for the accommodation and transport from the airport. While their cancellation policy allowed for the full charge, I felt it would have been good guest communication to at least respond to emails.

I have stayed here recently for one week and have been very pleased with the quality of the service. Comparing with other hotels I have stayed in Lisbon the room amenities, the varieties and the taste in the breakfast were much better. The staff was really friendly and helpful. Also special thanks to chef and his team who was so kind to pull forward breakfast time by 15min to help with my special health condition.

Only spent about 4 hours here due to a flight issue but the staff was so friendly and accommodating for everything. The room was well decorated. My only issue was the size of the standing shower which I feel is standard for Europe

Great location, wonderful staff, excellent breakfast and a comfortable bed. The only drawback is there is no where to hang your clothes or drawers -there is plenty of room in the room to install a small wardrobe -

I choose this hotel instead of my reservation through the hotel site about 1 year ago. So I didn't have any information but In my case, I remember, staff were very kind and I could use neat facility and have good breakfast every morning. But There is a park near the hotel so You can feel a little noisy when festival season. This hotel made me felt like Im in musical "Moulin Rouge".

Located in the centre of Lisbon. Beautifully decorated. Very decadent. Staff is extremely polite and respectable. This hotel is only 3 star, but worth all 5 on my opinion. I wanted to book again, but it always full. Amazing time!

Occasion: This is where we stayed for a week's perfect romantic anniversary getaway. It's a perfect spot for couples in the heart of Lisbon. The hotel: Esthetics are superb from the get go. The hotel has an unassuming impression by day, but by sunset it give a subtle vibe of a place you want to be at. A unique sexy atmosphere with a sharp appearance and efficient professional service. Amenities: The breakfast variety is very good and will likely answer all your palate's needs. The rooms are trés schiqe and the infotainment system on the TV sets the tone for a sexy stay in the perfect manner. I used the laundry service which came back quickly and as expected. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful a wonderful team. Accessibility: The location is perfect as being in the center of town and allowed for all our local Uber rides anywhere in town to be no more than 4 euros. Access to the main square is a 6-7 min relaxed walk through an avenue of high class stores. The square is a meeting point for most of the guided tours in Lisbon and surrounding sites (Sintra, Pena castle, Porto, Nazare, etc.). Overall for an unprepared surprise tour of Lisbon this was our perfect home base for the duration of our stay. We highly recommend the Maxime hotel and wish all the best to its staff and crew.

Friendly staff and clean rooms. Expect some extravagant rooms, inspired by the former (burlesque?) cabaret.

I really liked this hotel. The location is pretty good and the prices reasonable. The standard room was not very big but the styling and attention to detail was great. The breakfast buffet offers lots of choices and the staff was nice and helpful. Could not attend the shows so can't rate that... I would like to go again and try one of the themed rooms...

This hotel is well located in the historic district which is a real plus. The rooms are very small, to say the least. The bathroom and shower are a tight squeeze, although very modern. And don't expect to sleep if there is a show going on in the lobby of the hotel. The music goes on well past 1 AM which I find unacceptable. I had a room on the 1st floor which was my first mistake. I insisted on changing rooms for my subsequent nights. After much pushing, the front desk staff finally moved us to the 3rd floor. Breakfasts have lots of variety and it's a decent breakfast.

Nice hotel with a unique decor. Breakfast was included and it was great. We managed to find street parking right in front of the hotel during the 3 days we were there (not free, but still cheaper than parking garages). Location is good.

The staff at the hotel is extremely helpful and kind, the rooms are gorgeous with spacious, comfortable beds and elegant style. The bathrooms are small but clean functional and beautiful. Love the outdoor terrace on the first floor. But the breakfast was my favourite part: delicious savoury and sweet options, amazing portuguese pastries and great orange Juice. I hope I get to stay there again.

One of my favorite hotels to stay in Lisbon. Breakfast used to be better though! Bring the big pancakes back again please ;)

Great hotel with a relatively new and modern design built over a historic cabaret bar. Absolutely stunning location and accessible by all modes of transportation. Their breakfast was as such quite good on the first day which was a weekday, but around the weekend, the quality of food, the service and the general upkeep went down as maybe the hotel is not yet experienced in handling large crowds that show up on the weekends.

We loved our stay at the Maxine. The room decor was fun and the room very clean. The staff were great and the barman was great fun and made us some fun cocktails. Breakfast was great. Also very well located and v close to the metro.

Great hotel, reasonably priced. The staff were so helpful and showed us the places we wanted to go a d told us about the best way we could get there. It was nice how genuine they were and happy to help. The rooms were very clean and well presented, there was a great atmosphere and vibe to the place. Unfortunately, we did not make a show. Highly recommended

Only stayed in the deluxe room but it was pretty nice. They follow a green initiative at the hotel, cleaning upon request, key card controlled power, fancy soaps and shampoos (i guess). Shower is always hot and the rooms seem to be sound proofed enough. The bar is cool downstairs but it only seems to get busy during show nights. Place has got its own vibe with the burlesque theme it has going on.

We stayed at the Maxime for 6 nights in July and could not have been more pleased with the hotel, staff, and facilities. Location is excellent - close to the action yet far from the crowds with a great little serviced park next door. The staff go above and beyond. Fantastic breakfast as well. Excellent AC. Comfy beds. Cleaning staff are too-notch. Very handy outside deck space private to the hotel and lovely to relax in. Our only minor con is the lack of space in the bathroom because of the design of the sink and overall the room is more form than function - if you have lots of luggage and need to spread out, it may be a bit tight.

Location is great, near to metro and good restaurants but not on a party street. Staff was extremely polite and helpful, I was impressed. Rooms are quite large for Europe, bathroom is remodeled, water was hot, AC was cold. Suggestions: Add mini fridge to allow cold water Have 2 chairs in the room Replace the weird thin crinkly plastic mattress pad with a better quality mattress pad. It was the one thing that felt lower quality than the rest of the room

The hotel is at a great location for purposes of tourism, shopping and sightseeing, restaurants cafe etc. People were polite and helpfull. We enjoyed the breakfast very much, it was very good and tasty (it only lacked right timing sometimes in order to have variety and keep the food warm). There is a problem with the space in the room and the non existent closet, so we had our clothes all around the room always in our way. That was quite annoying. We would also appreciate a desk and a chair and a little more cleanliness.

  • 5/5 Vanesa C. 1 year ago on Google
Good hotel for the price. the breakfast is very good with lots of variety, the service is excellent. We arrived in Portugal at 8 am and were allowed to leave our bags at reception while our room was being prepared. The cabaret show is only on Saturdays.
